OOC: I'm more in love with this picture than is healthy.
Ada grabs Erich and gives him a kiss before he leaves the stage, and she walks on. "He is pretty sexy, ja?" She says into the mic as she pulls her guitar strap on over her head. The crowd gives out a loud cheer and Ada giggles, strumming a few chords. "This song is called To Erich Hess, and it goes a little something like this:" Ada says as she starts playing a softer song, her voice very soothing and different from the acts that have played before her.
wenn Sie es bekommen, bevor mir, du wirst mir einen Platz?
wenn Sie es bekommen, bevor mir, Sie würden mir einen Platz?
aber wenn ich noch nie dort überhaupt
würdest du der Sitz leer?
If you get there before me, will you light us a fire?
If you get there before me, will you light us a fire?
But if I never show,
Will you watch the embers glow?
Would you keep the fire burning?
This is a song for you, in case I never make it through to where you are.
This is a song for you, in case I never make it through to where you are.
The crowd gives out a sober cheer and Ada smiles. "Ja, maybe it is not what you were expecting, but sometimes you have to cool down, ja?" The crowd gives a collective sound of disagreement, and Ada giggles. "Damn right... This next song is a little more your speed." She starts playing the next song, which is much more fast-paced. Ada sings the song angrily, practically taking her frustration out on the guitar. "This song is called Mother."
Lassen Sie mich Ihnen etwas sagen Schwester,
Sie werden nie weg mit ihm.
You were sitting in the recliner with the TV on
When you said something evil and then you were gone
Explosives in the water main
A blown fuse
College graduation photograph
Splashed all over the six o'clock news
I will not be cashing in your policy
Until I find out what it is you are trying to do to me.
The crowd cheers Ada on, and she blushes a little. "You all are too sweet to me," She says into the mic, and somebody out in the audience shouts out, "Take off your shirt!" Ada makes a face and shakes her head. "Watch your mouth, young man, or Erich Hess will come fuck you up!"
Ada plays a few more songs, a good mixture of her quicker songs, along with her hauntingly quiet, slow songs that she's known for. As she starts to finish her set, she looks out into the audience. "We are sorry we missed you all yesterday," She says, and gets a reply of cheering. "We were busy buying corn..."
She starts to play her last song:
As we cruised across the German border
You reached into my handbag, pulled out a micro-cassette recorder
Started quoting Tolstoy into the machine
I had no idea what you meant
I guess I am supposed to figure these things out
Or maybe it is supposed to be self-evident
But I have gone feral
And I do not speak the language anymore.
We are headed deep into the forest, I have got the pedal to the floor
The engine shudders, like a dying man, when you reach out to grab my hand
You can bring out all your weapons
You cannot make me go to war.
Long winding German highways
Innumerable evergreens
Weather forcast on the AM radio
Says we will be expecting highs in the low teens
When I mouth my silent curses at you
I can see my breath
I hope the stars do not even come out tonight
I hope we both freeze to death
Look at the person I have turned into, tell me,
How do you like her now?
No standards of any kind of break, no creeds to disavow
I am right here where you want me
Do what you brought me out here for
You can arm me to the teeth
You cannot make me go to war.
"You all are lovely! Good night!"
