Nick Palmer Remixes 4U Girls
With a slow return to music in 2013 Nick Palmer released a single but hasn't been hear from since, but now he's released a remix of the group 4U Girls's latest single "Urban Knockout" "I just wanted to remix some current songs and throw my own verses in. It's kind of what I like to do now." says Palmer. "4U Girls are a fun group and remixing this was an obvious choice especially given the lyrics and vibe of the song. Enjoy it."
Nick's Changes(Original Song Credit: Moquel)Nick doesn't change much of anything for the beginning of the song. It starts out just like the original except the vocals are less dominant and more echoy. Then an additional bassline comes in dominating and the song it is powerful and builds the atmosphere with an additional soft synth and a doubling of the drums in the background. Nick joins in some of the verses adding a "Yeah." wherever appropriate. A keyboard adds another element in the chorus but the main change is the tempo. It slows down. The addition of more echoy, fading vocals from Nick, although lyrically nonsense, plus the dominating bass, the ambient synth, and the addition of a second beat give the chorus a dance vibe. Nick changes little in the breakdown as the song changes itself to a very in-your-face arrangement after the first chorus except a wobbling bass and vocal distortion making it a definite dance section. THe overall effect turns the song in less of an urban direction and more of an ambient and dance direction but the beat still keeps the hard r&B, hip-hop aspect to the song. Before the last chorus is played out Nick adds his verse. He hammers the rap in with a strong hip-hop beat and his bassline backing him up. After this it returns to Nick's established arrangement for the end of the song.
