Tisha Jackson Finally Opens Up About Album #7 & New Single 'Firecracker'
  ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________Tisha Jackson is back! After a lengthy hiatus for the music scene, Tisha Jackson is back with a new album and she is finally ready to release some of that new material she has been raving about. It was announced last week that Tisha Jackson will debut the first single off her seventh studio album on VH1’s Countdown to ‘Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Years Eve’. Jackson’s fans were sent into frenzy when they found this news out because they weren’t expecting new music so soon.
After the news broke about The Pop-Princess new single dropping on New Years Eve, Jackson, announced herself that the single’s title is ‘Firecracker’. Jackson debut the art-work for the single via twitter, on Christmas day as a gift to her fans. On the cover, Tisha’s hair is curled up in a bun, she is wearing a red bandana with throwback overalls and hauling over trash. The image debut a very ‘hippy’ look for Jackson, a image that is rather tamed in contrast to her ‘very glamorous image’.
More news has surfaced on the single, and album when Tisha released a statement via twitter.
“Firecracker is something I am positive my fans will enjoy. We wanted to build up a series of events to make this the main event. I consider this the song of my career definitely by far. It is my coming out party. I’ve been through SO MUCH in the past year, a lot of ups and downs but now I feel like I can finally kick up my feet and enjoy all that I’ve accomplished personally and professionally. ‘Firecracker’ will assure everyone that I no longer care about pleasing the public and being ‘America’s Sweet Heart’. The track just boast ‘I am Tisha Jackson, Love me or hate me.’ Regardless I am going to be me, and I am comfortable in my skin. I laugh while talking about the single because it is definitely MY MOST HAPPIEST up beat song to date. I am in a very good space personally and professionally and I want you to see that. It is amazing that I write and record a song like this, because what started out as a very dark album completely did a 360 with one track. I can’t wait until I perform it so you get the full effect. Shit is fiya baby!”
When talking about her seventh studio album, Tisha stated,
“I finally feel like I can talk about it. I kept so much of it a secret because I didn’t want to jinx anything or give anyone a clue into where I wanted to take things sonically with this record. It’s weird because usually with my albums I usually title the record after I am done with recording the entire album, but with this record, I knew exactly what I would title it from jump. Once we BEGAN the ‘Reveal’ era I knew what I would title this record. That’s how passionate I am about it. It’s like every song on the album has potential to be a single. The record is my most genuine and best album to date. It is definitely my favorite. My most mature album to date. I feel like I am stepping into my woman hood with this album. I am actually becoming a woman and feeling more like one. That’s really all I can say about it right now.’’
We know Jackson’s fans are ecstatic to hear the news of the new material coming their way. Even though it may not have seemed that lengthy because of all the commercial success ‘Reveal’ received, Tisha Jackson hasn’t had a studio album out in two years. Come 2013, it will be two years that we’ve gone without hearing new material from the songstress; it is also the longest hiatus she has taken between albums. We hope it was worth the wait. Tune in on Dec 31st to see Tisha hit the stage and debut her new single ‘Firecracker’.

Katie Coyle: Can't wait to hear the new material Tisha. Seems I won't be the only girl making a big comeback in 2013 ;) I also just want to say that I love the whole "I am Tisha Jackson: love me or hate me," attitude. It's refreshing to see someone just be themselves without worrying about what other people say.
