RIOT! IN THE BOULEVARD – A YEAR TO REMEMBER, CELEBRATED IN STYLE! ‘The band call an end to their hugely successful year as they’re honored at New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, named the second best act of 2012 by Max-Volume Magazine and Amy Meyer certainly makes the most of the celebrations’ > (The band arrived and were one of the first acts to be honored at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve) <Yes, it’s definitely been an eventful and insanely lucrative year for the young rock outfit, the obsessive work ethic of the band, in particular their female lead singer has helped them to earn over $50 million throughout last year, as well as huge critical and commercial acclaim in everything they do, be it live performance or studio releases, whatever they have touched in the past year has turned to gold, not only for themselves but for their label ‘North Hill Records’ too and it’s set to continue hugely in the first half of 2013 too with a headlining worldwide tour that’s expected to overtake that $50 million total with a certain amount of ease. So it’s no wonder that the band were honored at the ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ concert on Monday evening alongside a host of other big names from the past year of music. > (Amy appeared in good spirits throughout the evening) <But the often low-key singer certainly let loose at an after party as the drinks continued to come her way, as pictures leaked online this morning certainly show the young starlet enjoying herself. The remaining band members of Riot! In The Boulevard were at the after party too but were slightly more reserved in the preceding’s of the evening, Justin and Nathan refused any form of alcohol according to an insider which is primarily down to their strong religious beliefs, while Jason Greenberg reportedly stuck around for an hour before heading home, this increased speculation on various Riot! fan forums that the bassist became engaged over the Christmas period, with his longtime girlfriend, and finally Adam Benjamin according to our insider, “wasn’t drunk but was certainly quite popular with the young women, he was essentially being passed around the room like a small toy, a small black haired woman took him over to meet her friends and then less than five minutes later another woman grabbed him by his hand and took him somewhere else to meet a group of her friends” the latter of the group of girls were reportedly a lot more rowdy, demanding that the rhythm guitarist kissed each one of them. Meanwhile downstairs is where Amy Meyer found herself, as a local rock band provided the entertainment into the early hours of the morning, she became tired of the constant flirtation from the unknown band’s tattooed lead guitarist and as he made his way off of the stage mid-way through an instrumental break to attempt to get a kiss from the well-known musician, she reluctantly puckered up, the guitarist made his way back onstage and as he turned to face the audience Amy Meyer wasn’t in her seat, he looked around the room and as he turned to his left he was met with a face-full of foam with the flame haired frontwoman taking her revenge on the lecherous wannabe-rocker as she unleashed a fire extinguisher on the stage, covering the entire band. As the band finally composed themselves it appeared that Amy had quickly left, making a run for it to the upstairs area with a brown haired friend as they both were laughing. > (A number of photos of a drunken Amy Meyer with one of her childhood friends at the after party were posted on Tumblr earlier this morning) <The Riot! frontwoman then found her rhythm guitarist at the DJ’s booth attempting to convince the evenings disc jockey to allow him to control the music, moments of begging were enough to allow the DJ to give way to the rhythm guitarist for just one song and as the high energy dance beats suddenly ended the dancing from the entire room came to a halt, Adam reportedly took a microphone and told the crowd to “Find a special someone … it’s slow-dance time” and with that he placed a record onto the turntable, turned up the volume and the familiar sounds of Berlin’s ‘Take My Breath Away’. The crowd did not respond and the DJ quickly replaced the song as a laughing Adam Benjamin and Amy Meyer left the building with a couple of their friends. The aftermath of the evening is likely to be an interesting surprise to a sober Amy Meyer as the owner of the bar stated on a local television interview this morning, “Last night got out of hand, what we were expecting was that the rock group would be having a quiet celebration downstairs with a couple of friends, it escalated rather quickly and considerable damage was made throughout the building. CCTV shows the damage that was mostly caused by Amy Meyer and I assure that there has been a sizeable bill to the hotel that she is currently staying in addressed to Ms. Meyer.” |
