I'll be over in five. That sounds divine.

Spent most of the day fussing miss Hess. Ready to drink those memories away.

Also,it smells like bananas out here, and I just checked out a woman old enough to be my mom.

My shortlist is already 150 albums long & I've only just gone through to the 1980s. Guarantee there's stuff you'll like on it, even if you haven't heard it yet. I mean Aretha Franklin? Etta James? Otis Redding? Some great classic 60s soul. Plus I haven't even gotten to hip-hop stuff, you must be able to dig some Public Enemy or even Outkast. And Cee-Lo Green for something even more contemporary? Obviously the final list is probably going to be dominated by metal & punk, but there will be funk, classic rock, (old) pop, hip-hop, soul, & even country in the final list I'd imagine.

Going through this list I'm using as a starting point has also made me realise that 1967 really has to be the greatest year for album releases in human history. Absolutely stunning the number of incredible albums that came out then.

I did a list a while back that was a top ten per decade. Some decades were harder than others, some because of too many great records some because of too few. Also, I kind of find it hard to say "this album is better than that album" in a lot of cases, so the order could be shuffled depending on mood. Still, it was an interesting exercise.

I found surprisingly few records in the 60s that I felt strongly enough were genuine classics, which seemed weird. There's plenty of stuff I like from that era, but I tried to limit it to one per artist, and there was very little prior to '66 that I know well enough to make a call on.

I did discover that I think Forever Changes might be the best record of '67 though. Because it was a dark reflection of all the hippy-dippy peace and love bullshit that was going around.

Funnily, just going through my list I realised that I could easily do a top 25 of albums released in 1967 alone, without any thought. Well, I'd need to think of order, but naming the 25 albums from 17 years before my birth would have been easy. I don't know about best album of 67, Forever Changes is clearly incredible, buuuuuuuuut Velvet Underground put out both & Nico & White Light/White Heat, & you know how much I love the Velvets. Actually that's my big sticking point now (having needed to take a break from just listing albums), what's the better Lou Reed solo album. Transformer is obviously the big "poppy" glam album full of killer songs like Perfect Day, Walk On The Wild Side & Satellite of Love. But Berlin is a more coherent as a whole, better than the sum of its parts, and it's a really great dark & uncomfortable album full of bad vibes. So right now I'm leaning towards Berlin, but I think I need to go back & listen to both records a lot more. Which is no bad thing.

I am probably going to have to go over the "shortlist" 2 or 3 times to narrow it down to an actual shortlist because right now I can see it moving in the direction of 400 records. Which is obviously silly. I'd like to get the shortlist down to 120 or so before the year is out. At least it is something to focus on.

Does anyone else play FIFA 13? I've been playing a lot of career mode recently, and I can't seem to move teams? Every team I apply for says I haven't got enough credentials despite leading Roma to 5 cups in 4 years and being manager of the Spanish national team? Doing my nut in.

You'd think, after all this time, after all the crazy mass shootings in America, people would revisit the Second Amendment. The right to bear arms is not the same as the right to bear automatic firearms for example. If the right is to own any arms, then people must be allowed to own nuclear arms too, right? No, because you draw a fucking line.

Any news? These things are often not as bad as you dread them to be.

In totally unrelated news, I came across the worst thing ever, a sort of Wiki of usermade Choose Your Own Adventure tales. Including one called Star Wars: The Complete Erotic Saga. Needless to say it is a whole mix hilarious, creepy, & just mind boggling awful. WHY DOES THE INTERNET DO THIS? I mean writing fan fiction where your favourite Star Wars characters get molested by Wookies is one thing, but to take it that step further & make it choose your own adventure just boggles the mind completely.

I present the link with the warning that this is awful. Do not look at it if you are prudish, at work (there are horrible pictures some of the time including a terrible one of Amidala being bukkaked by the Jedi Council that's just burnt into my eyes right now.), or just if you are a decent human being. I feel so bad that I find this the funniest thing ever.

In fact I have no idea if this is even allowed on the board. So I won't post the link. But if you are a fellow horrible person I could just PM you the link.

That...is....brilliant!!! The choose your own adventure element is ..just phenomenal. I almost want the link, but don't want to look like a pervert.

I can see it now. " if you want anakin to put the light saber up his ass, turn to page 56."

It was just some really agressive allergy. I was starting to think I had small tumors, it's so awful ): and I had never have any allergies in my life before.

Well, allergies do suck & can be quite serious if you aren't aware of them, but I'm glad to hear it's not anything like a tumour.

Let me tell you something about baseball, and Japan. Japanese children are laughing at you right now. You. They find this game easy as hell, you won't.
