"Oh, i've been wonderful!" she exclaims, smiling broadly. "I was worried when I heard that Sam was with somebody. I mean, you know the type of people in the music business. They can be...odd.." she says, thinking of Erich. "But when I showed up here I was delighted! Nichole is such a sweet girl. And you're certainly one of the nicest boys Sam's ever hung around with," she says, smiling and patting his arm.

"So, Castor, where's Nina off to?" Sam asks, opening the fridge for another coke. "Something to drink?" he offers.

"Oh, that's good. Come to think of it, I haven't seen Rob in a while. Wonder where he is.." Sam says, realizing he basically abandoned the rest of his bandmembers as soon as the tour was over. "Well, dear.." Rose says, "After your tour ended I came home one night and your friends Neil and Jeff were there. I don't know what those boys have done to their families, but for some reason our basement is more home to them than their actual homes!" she says. "Really? Shit.." Sam says. "Well, I guess Jeff had some sort of falling out with his parents, and Neil's parents live in Quebec, so...I guess they just went to our place. I mean, they knew you'd let them stay," he says, rubbing his temples. Rose decides to change the subject. "So, you and Nichole are in a band?" she asks Castor. "What kind of music do you play? It's not like Sam's, is it?" she asks, chuckling a bit. "I love him and support him, but that music he makes isn't fit for old ears."

"Oh, that sounds nice. None of that...screaming.." she says, eyeing Sam. "It's not for you, mom. It's...not for a lot of people," Sam says, chuckling.

Sam tries to looked offended. "Are you saying I don't appreciate the finer, subtler things in life?" he says, taking a sip of his coke, making sure to lift his pinky extra high. "I like you guys music. It's better than all that sugar-coated pop garbage they spoon feed everybody."

"Oh, my, good for you! That's amazing!" Rose says, and Sam laughs and puts his arm around Nichole. "You know, Unholy Creation would've been #1 if only they had a "Super Brutal Awesome Death Metal" chart. But apparently society can't handle that yet."

"Good. At least you'll be able to support our family with your #1 album royalties, while I make non-commercial music and stay broke. I can be a stay at home dad! ...when I'm not on tour," he says, sounding actually happy about it.

Sam smiles. "Well, I love kids, and you seem to be able to balance out your music career and being a dad.." he says, looking at Virginia and smiling. "I think I'm ready for it," he says finally, and Rose beams at her son.

Sam wakes up, noticing Nichole isn't beside him. "Nichole?" he calls out, then realizes his mom might still be asleep, and decides to look instead. He creeps out of bed into the kitchen.

"Uhh.." he says, looking at the pickle, "I think I'm good on cheesy pickles right now. How are you feeling?" he says, sitting down next to her.
