topLADs Turn Down Contract Renewal? Hot property, topLADs have been highly successful since their arrival at Liberation/Nomad Records, winning the Best New Artist award at the Fans Choice Awards, releasing a number one single titled, "Good Morning" and releasing a mini-album/EP called "Let's Skip The Minor Details", which peaked at number 3 in the Album Charts. The band are also set to release their first full-length studio album this year and is tipped for success, but is also the last album in the band's deal with their record label. Reports had been circulating, stating that topLADs were prepared to renew their contract at Liberation/Nomad but today us here at Culture Uncut can confirm that they will not be staying at Liberation/Nomad Records beyond their next album, "Uprising" and will be looking to sign to a larger label for the foreseeable future. We've had no information regarding as to whether or not the band, led by controversial ladies man Rory Delaney, have started discussing contracts early with label owners but it is unlikely as the band members have been enjoying their time off from tour. But with the band looking dead in the face of major success, major labels may be fighting over this band once they're on the market. Things are looking up for the LADs.

Scott RH: Wow.....releasing this is bad news. Never do that to your label before you release an album. You know labels control your PR right? Everyone knows my longstanding views on band's mistreating labels and this is another instance of poor professionalism. I think we all know where you're going, but thank God it isn't here. Lots of respect for this promising band lost today.
Oh and Nomad would be perfectly correct to sue TopLads as well. Opening negotiations while signed elsewhere is awful behaviour. Bad times. |
