01.17.13 BEWARE TRACK RUN DOWN!
Here's the track run down for Beware!
1. The Unforgiven Sin 3:34
The band comes crashing into this one all together, as a powerful bass line, a strong guitar hook, and heavy vocals come into play very fast. The chorus is a mix of screaming and singing, and Johnny Deck manages to hit both his highest and lowest note within seconds of each other. There's a minute-long guitar solo at the 2:02 mark, and the bridge is entirely screamed by Johnny Deck. The lyrics have to do with someone doing something so drastic, that it can never be forgiven, not by the singer, and not by god. Loud, banging drums with double bass complete this one. One of the heaviest songs on the album.
2. My Surrender 4:41
A slower guitar riff opens this one, but it isn't long before it transitions into a powerful, memorable electric line. Electronic drums come in, along with background ambient noises. Johnny Deck sings about how he's tired of fighting, and "pushed past my limits long ago, it's time to lay down these guns, it's time for my surrender." The song progressively gets heavier until transitioning into a slow rocker towards the middle, before going full blast at the end into a hard rock anthem, with reverb added to the chorus and layered vocals.
3. Arcane Operations 5:54
A very dark, tribal drum-centric beat begins, slow at first, but picks up pace. An eerie, screeching guitar is heard, and a tribesman begins chanting. Then out of nowhere, the whole band plays very heavily, topped by a blood curdling scream from Johnny Deck. The song is very quiet, with tribal drums in the verses, and very loud and scream-focused in the chorus, and the screams only get more brutal in the bridge. The heaviest track on the album. The lyrics deal with someone in the tribe performing dark witchcraft, and the hunt to seek them out and burn them at the stake.
4. Ashes Of Deception 2:20
A very fast paced metalcore song, with clean and screaming vocal trade offs done in the verses, with bassist Jasper Fade doing the screams, giving them a deeper, more roaring sound. Johnny Deck maintains a very high pitch throughout the chorus, giving this fast-paced song a much different style. The last 30 seconds are a drum and bass solo. The lyrics feature the singer trying to "burn away all these problems, ignite them one by one, these ashes of deception, feel like a loaded gun!"
5. Scion 3:00
Scion opens with a very spacey synth, and foreboding, errie atmospheric sounds and noises. A dark, pounding synth then plays, and Johnny's voice, effected to sound distorted and distant, sings about feeling isolated and distant. Electronic drums come in with a pounding beat. A powerful electric guitar solo at the 2:00 mark, and then the band all comes together for a strong space rock finish.
6. Necromimesis 2:49
A completely instrumental song that opens with a dark, depressing piano that quickly transitions into an electric guitar riff. Deadly drums do a quick snare roll, and the whole song transitions into pure metal at the 1:00 mark. Things quickly go back quiet, to just the piano at 2:30, but pick up strong again, for a big stop-go metal finish.
7. Scream (For Me) 3:36
This is an all out party song, with lyrics focused on picking up girls and taking them back to your place to "close the door and turn out the light, babay please don't put up a fight, mess up your hair and get you out of those clothes, scream for me, baby, as I drop down low". The song features a catchy, playful electric guitar riff mixed with metal double-bass drums and a thumping, groove bass line. The bridge is sang by Jasper Fade, who, in his low, deep voice, thanks the girl for the night, but is "sorry baby, but you got to go, one night max, and that's the end of the show."
8. Comatose 1:31
A slow song, and a quick one at that, featuring Jasper Fade on piano, this song has Johnny singing in a mellow voice about not feeling alive, and wanting to be woken up. At the end, Jasper Fade joins in with the vocals as they sing "Wake me, please wake me, oh god wake me, save me from this"
9. Your Walls 3:01
The debut single from the album, Your Walls opens with a pounding quick-then-slow guitar riff and drum beat, and the vocals slowly transition in, where the singer tells us he's about to give up the fight to get past another person's walls. All the instruments stop, and the chorus kicks in, where Johnny sings in his alternative metal voice about feeling betrayed after doing so much for someone else. The instruments in this track are all very raw, and sound very natural.
10. Our Broken Bodies 4:02
A slower alternative rocker, this one opens with a quick snare roll and guitar riff, before Johnny comes in and sings against a fast-strummed guitar, talking about how he feels like he sacrificed two lives instead of one, and "our broken bodies lie here, eternally intertwined. Forever to be together, this is the end of yours and mine." There's a strong 1 1/2 minute guitar and drum solo in the bridge, finishing the album out strong.
