erich: you can be in a studio without coke and liquor?? i am pretty sure this has to be false. everyone knows that mixing boards do not work unless properly lubricated with stray coca plant granules. this is day one shit, everyone knows that.

Scott: I'd have said the same Mr Hess. But then I also didn't know until tour buses can still generate power even if you don't have a different girl in your bed every night. Crazy things you learn when you get married. I'll be honest, I looked at the sound desk the first time we came in for this album, and given the condition I used to be in when recording, I could have sworn I had never seen one before. I had to shout for the wife to come and show me how to turn it on.

erich: *looks out the window at the tour bus with a skeptical expression* huh? well i'll be damned. i always assumed there was a generator under the bed that ran to the engine. that's probably for the best. gia would beat that ass. i only just work for her and know she's not one to be crossed. plus being fucked up all the time after you are a father isnt cool. it's really really sad. so,good show old bean. * picks up the bus's owners manual*

First off, how does it feel to be back in the limelight once again?
You know, it really feels amazing. To have another chance. I really thought that I wasn't going to get anywhere to tell you the truth but when Obsession became such a hit I really thought to myself that I've made something of this shot I was given and it really makes me feel amazing and really, really thankful because I've wanted this for so long and have waited for so long and for one of my songs to reach #1 was just unbelievable.

You're working with the Underground, so that means you're without a label, could you tell us about the perfect fit for you in terms of a label?
To tell you the truth, I'm not really looking to sign with any huge labels right now. I'm happy with the Underground. I'm getting the same support from them that I would be getting at any other label and Damion Holmes is an amazing and helpful boss. Maybe one day I will sign to another label but right now I'm really happy with my partnership at the Underground.

As an independent artist, what is one of your bigger challenges?
I definitely think of my bigger challenges was getting noticed again. Few people remembered who I was so basically I was a brand new artist all over again. So my main challenge was getting people to pay attention. Its not as hard getting noticed now as it was before as an independent artist, I honestly think people tend to respect you more if you are but I really can't say the challenges came from being indy, I think there's challenges being an artist in the industry in general.

You're an AATW alumni, do you still keep tabs with other alumni?
No I have not unfortunately. I have not spoken to any of the alumni. I did meet a lot of talented people when I did compete on the show but sadly haven't really kept tabs on any of the acts from the show.

You were a member of Celebrity Big Brother series 1, and there have been talks of a CBB: All Star event, would you take part in it?
No, I've become too busy with recording my album to take part in an All Star Event. I had an amazing time on the show however but I'm just too busy to return for a season.

What were some of the crazier off-camera moments of CBB 1?
There were so many crazy things that went on. But I'd have to say during the first week Queen Alexis was trying to kick Andrea Mason out of the house. I mean, it was really mean, and crude and even went on when the camera's weren't rolling. I wanted to help Andrea so bad but Alexis was going crazy and threatening everyone in the house ...that moment was just off the wall. I still respect Andrea a lot for not losing it in a moment like that, she's a strong person.

In terms of recording, how much growth do you think this comeback shows for you?
I feel like this time I've grown so much actually during this recording process. Not only as a songwriter but as a singer as well. People will realize that I'm not that pretty young girl from AATW but I've had hardships and I've been climbing for a chance for so long and that I've grown. I won't let this moment pass without it being memorable because I wanted everything I'm currently getting..so bad and from where I was two years ago barely knowing what I was doing in the studio until now, I know myself there has been growth but now I've got to relay that in the music for all of you and my fans to realize.

Last question here, is there any artist you really feel like working with?
I've wanted to work with everyone! There are so many people I'd like to work with that I won't put my finger on one. I did want to work with James Urie really badly and I've actually gotten that chance which was totally astonishing and pretty freaking cool! I guess everyone will have to wait till my album comes out to see who I've worked with!

Scott: I'm not entirely sure I know what surf pop is, but I think I must like it. Nice effort here lads. I always like songs about people having a smoke. It gives me a vicarious memory, I always liked smoking until the wife cut that out. Great song though, and I look forward to some more. If you would like to talk contracts at any time, well I notice you're unsigned....

OOC: Nice work on this. I like the lyrics :)

Matthew: It's a wild genre name they threw at us, we obliged as it makes us North West kids sound more tropical. Thank you though! Everyone deserves a smoke once in a while, each for their own reason. Dude you should spark up right now and feel the bliss. OH and wow, yeah, I mean.. if you guys were interested in four socially awkward 18-year olds then sure, we'd be interested in talking.

OOC: Cheers man! Tried to change-up the writing style for this band.

Good luck in your future endeavors, it will be great to see what you guys will continue to offer going into the new year.

Charlie: Thank you very much, man. Yeah, we often get asked about the name.. still have no idea where it came from. And yeah, thank you, who doesn't love a good cig every now and then, huh? Hopefully we won't fade into our haze of smoke and we'll make it to the new year! Thanks man.

1 song

“Good evening, one and all. Welcome to the first Rager’s Palace.” Floyd Holm says as he steps on the small stage, which is a bit crowded with the two guitar, keyboard and drumset set-up. “Congratulations to you for finding the secret show, and speaking on behalf of Picture Perfect, I hope you’re ready for a fucking rager of a time.” He exits the stage soon after, as the act of the night gets up on stage.

Peter Hampshire, and Laura Paige with the assistance of two live session members enter from backstage to the delight of the perhaps 200 fans that take up the small warehouse.

“Good afternoon boys and girls.” Laura shouts out as she throws her guitar strap over her head, playing a few starting notes on the Telecaster. “We’ve got a few songs here for you today.”

---
Tiny Outlet Shops
---

The slow drumming starts, as does the strumming of Laura’s guitar as the backing band begins their own melodies for this upbeat, less synth orientated version of their charting single.

I’ve got a home now, I’ve got a home now

She sings out in a short reprise atop the stool she sits on. The lights dim as the small crowd begins to sway back and forth, down for the slower more Beatles-esque feel of the song.

I’ve found my place in the world and it’s not here
It’s anywhere you choose to be near
I can still teach you if I remember how

Slowly another person climbs on the stage from the back, and the crowd doesn’t know who it is, this mystery person sings the next verse of the song:

Days be days and past be past
Tours last forever and never stop
My only home, is these tiny outlet shops

Far far away, I can’t keep my mind above the gutter
I wanna gooooooo, I wanna goooooo
Somewhere you’d never knooooooow

(OOC: A very short example of a new feature on PicturePerfect, Rager's Palace, a live performance type of thing that you might like. Message if you wanna try.)

NEW MUSIC ALERT - Jimmy Church's 'I AM YOUR CONQUEROR'

UserPostedImage

Jimmy Church - An Introduction

Now widely known for his spats with a few a-listers and his disdain for the music industry as a whole, Jimmy Church now seems to be sending out an open declaration of war against the industry with his first follow-up to his cult underground release, ‘Be The Gun’.

Yet first, to understand the context of the music, one must understand that Church has more or less been around the music scene for over six years, starting out as a teenage roadie for a few successful punk and metal acts after dropping out of high school.

“I grew up a huge fan of The Adolescents, Minor Threat and The Circle Jerks. It wasn’t until around 2009, I think I was 17, that’s when I joined Absolute Failure.”

Absolute Failure proved to be the breakthrough musically for Church, in the trio he showed his chops, drumming and singing, but in late 2010, the band split due to irreconcilable differences. Even the usually belligerent Church wouldn’t comment on the circumstances that led to the break-up.

Instead of taking time off following the split, Jimmy began recording and playing live shows as a solo artist as early as a week after the break-up.

“A-lot of people thought that being drunk and the loudness and the rage is all part of a stage persona, but no that’s the real me.”

In mid-2012 after a year of extensive touring around America, and a few indie cassette releases, Jimmy Church released his first album with any sort of entity since Absolute Failure broke before any full-lengths releases could be produced. ‘Be The Gun’ was the first held-together, honest to god album that Church participated with.

‘Be The Gun’ was recorded within a 48 hour period, and released subsequently after. The hastily put together recording showed with the album’s fuzzy production, and sound muting at certain points throughout the playthrough, but critics and fans note that this is part of the charm that Church brings to the table. The release’s rapid-fire lyrical delivery accompanied by ripchord riffs led to an even greater appreciation and fanbase for the 20 year old.

Now, coming off his 21st birthday, and a tour across Britain, the ‘Punk Messiah’ is home and for the first time in his life, he’s focusing his anger.

“This is my debut in the public eye really, and I hope that the people who don’t like it...well I hope they go forth and die.”

Jimmy Church presents: I Am Your Conqueror

JIMMY CHURCH| |I AM YOUR CONQUEROR
UserPostedImage
Releasing: 3/20/13
Produced by: James ‘Jimmy’ Church
Genre: Hardcore Punk
Label: Unsigned
Length: 01:09

Lyrics:

Black and blue, I envy you/You are the star, I can see you from afar
You are my concubine/I am your conqueror
You standby as my muse/The slow quivering I can’t refuse
Immortality in a grave!/The Sound of Living’s nothing to save!
Fuck success, burn the rest!

I am your conqueror!/I am your conqueror!
I am your conqueror!/I am your conqueror!

Life’s been shit since I’ve been on my own/All I can do is whine and drone!
I’m a firecracker waiting to explode!/Shaking all night, with little to do!
You are my concubine!/I am your conqueror!
Look past the illusion, you’ll find me/The ghosts of the past, are all I wanna see

Overview:
The strayed strumming and rapid-fire vocals are the perfect introduction course into Church’s music. The lyrics deliberate, and this time, albeit rare, they rhyme. The strumming begins light, yet distorted and as the first words come out of Church’s mouth, the intent becomes more obvious as he shouts, the strumming intensifies and the chanted chorus ‘I am your conqueror!’ is rendered more powerful by a set of tribal-like drumming.

OOC:
