NEW ORLEANS, LA: John Taylor, Warr guitarist for former Negative Records artists Jesus Knievel, announced today that the band will reform for a new album and some tour dates this spring.

Jesus Knievel, an avant-garde instrumental metal band, wowed progressive rock and metal fans alike with their debut release Stem Cell Circumcision Protocol, a 58-minute journey into a "...Einstein-Rosen bridge of chugging riffs and a totally bewildering array of different and difficult time signatures" (SeaofTranquility.org).

Missing from this lineup is 8-string guitar wizard Jeff Turner, who accepted a teaching post at Berklee College of Music in 2010. His replacement is relatively new axe-master Michael McCoy, also an 8-string guitarist, but who also plays a custom 9-string guitar.

Taylor will continue to utilize the Warr guitar...a 10-string beast of a touchstyle instrument. He will also use the Chapman Stick, and a custom 10-string Conklin bass.

Jeff Thiessen, Canadian percussion legend, will rejoin Jesus Knievel behind the drum kit. His Terry Bozzio-influenced drumming is certain to once again have audiences' jaws on the floor.

Taylor hinted that a new Knievel album is in the works, but has not indicated what, if any, label will pick up the extreme prog metal trio this time around.

Zander: I demand we work together, tour, and become best friends. So let it be written on the internet; so let it be done!

John: By the power vested in me by Tony Levin, Meshuggah, and...well, somebody...I decree that Jesus (pronounced, in fact, jee-zus and NOT heyzeus) Knievel and Zander Gray are now tourmates, compatriots, and wielders of the prog metal flaming sword of doom. \m/
