6) Lovvers(Max, Randy, Tyler and Charlie back. Summer 2012)Track number six on Lovvers is the title track. Max Feldman told us that "this is the only real love song on the record," he went on to say that this is probably the most sincere love song he's ever written. It is the first change of style on the record and it is welcome. The previous five tracks blue together due to how short and up-beat they all are, don't get me wrong, absolutely excellent tracks but a welcome tone drop on Lovvers. The song opens with a clean guitar riff which plays through a haunting synth background. Feldmans vocals can barely be heard behind the music - it sounds like just noise, but it adds certain beauty and mystery to the song. "Love songs should have a different formula behind them. They're so different, they deserve a bit of mystery. Or at least I think they do." He continues to sing about a past flame from his teenage years which has sadly ended. There is a certain irony around this song and the rest of the album. The rest of the album is sung about in or about a stoner haze, whilst this song will be every stoners Titanic when they hear it. We like it, in-fact we urge Bath Salts to make a few more love songs in the future. Remember the times we got drunk on your porch Got some wood and lit it on fire to make our own torch Rebelled against our parents just to see each other I don’t really know what I’d rather; Out of not knowing you or always being together Without me you’re probably much healthier I would trade this beer just to see your face Just to take me far away from this place We loved, loved, loved, loved, loved each other We were, we were lovers We loved, loved, loved, loved, loved each other We were, we were lovers We were lovers Now it’s over Now it’s over We were the best of lovers that everyone knew There wasn’t a thing that we both wouldn’t do Found some cheap wine that tasted like piss It was all made ok by the touch of your gentle kiss Take me back Take me back Take me back to the night we slept on the dirt track Our heads were gone from taking too much crack Those were the days Those were the days Those were the days I will never forget It’s the present day and im standing in the rain soaking wet Guided by your voice that I can no longer detectWe loved, loved, loved, loved, loved each other We were, we were lovers We loved, loved, loved, loved, loved each other We were, we were lovers We loved, loved, loved, loved, loved each other We were lovers We were lovers Now it’s over Now it’s over
Oh we were the greatest of lovers Oh we were the greatest of lovers Sounds like:
