My band sucks. Our singer is a pothead, without a doubt.

That's like saying "My window cleaner likes eating chips, without a doubt."

Pretty much yes, that's what I'm saying. The singer is supposed to be the guy that represents the band the most. Our band members are all too different to be in a band. One person likes death metal, another likes 80's glam rock, or something like that, I like indie rock. I'm thinking about quitting the band.

Don't you get embarrassed for your lies dude, seriously.

Anyway, me I have written many songs in Spanish, I have a book were I have written all my songs. I hate writing music sometimes especially when I get writer's block. I am planning to work with my friend who works at the Phantom City music studio. I just need the time and money.

why you keep thinking I lie? I don't really believe you have a friend at a music studio.

Because It looks like it.
You wanna bet, I'll give you his number and ask him ask him! I'll pm you it.

Well, how does it look like it? I don't understand your strange philosophy.

Just look at the bold, those are the clues you are lying.

This is the second time you are giving people clues that they lie. Your logic is hard to understand. Accusing people that they lie is a bad habit of yours, missy. Think before you type something on this forum.!

It should also be pointed out that people don't need to be best pals to be in a bad together.

Elliot: Paul wasn't saying judge 'em by their cover. He was simply saying that most of the time a band with a stupid run on sentence type name are bad, and there have been very few exceptions. BUT he did accept there are exceptions.

It'd be like criticising the recent obsession of My... bands. It's quite annoying, and does turn me off a band a wee bit at first impression, but first impressions aren't all that important in music because if the music is good ala My Bloody Valentine or My Dying Bride then fuck it, it's all forgiven.

It's gotten to the point I can almost tell how much I will hate a band simply by their name, and the examples where I have been surprised I can count on probably one hand.

Well excuse me, Mr. Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band...

That doesn't offend me at all, in fact I quite like it. That may seem incongruous, but not to me. Thee Silver Mount Zion is obviously enough the actual umbrella name for the project in its many guises, Memorial Orchestra, well that's just an Orchestra in memory of something, and Tra-La-La Band refers to the kind of freewheeling communal campfire aspect, since everyone in the band sings though none of them can. That all seems justified to me, particularly in the socio-political-urban-poetic aesthetic they exude from every pore. Not to mention being prepped by the already extravagantly anarchic Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Maybe If the band were called maybe "Silver is the Mountain, Tra-La-La Goes the Orchestra" or something, that might probably grossly offend me.

A better exception is Do Make Say Think, because on paper that qualifies as a name I might dislike, but since they're completely outwith that whole whiny indie pop scene, it doesn't have the context to offend me. Maybe if they were some kind of punk band and the name was some kind of Orwellian mind control reference, then yeah, but it's not, it's from the words on four walls of a local classroom dividing it into activity zones.

As I think about it, I really can't think of any specific bands whose names annoyed me greatly before I listened to them. Maybe The Flaming Lips, but that was a good six years ago...

If anything, I'd be a solo artist, couldnt cope with a band, and i'd hide behind a mask. I dont have enough self confidence, although ive been told ive got a nice voice and i should go on x factor.

yes, i grow up with people who watch x factor.

I used to as well when performing live with 1t. In Absolute Zero I no longer needed to.

Well I got told.

I will take my love for You Me at Six to the closet, where it belongs :P

More often than not I end up shedding my need for them :P

I seem to baffle a few people as to why I wear sunglasses onstage but they're somewhat of a trademark of myself to those who know me now, hahah

It became sorta a trademark for me too. xD
I liked wearing them at the time. Now, any glasses just look awful on me.

I broke mine, I need a new pair :S I only buy them from this weird vintage indie store in Leamington though, as they have the only shapes and colours I like. Though only £5 a pair.

No wonder they break, really :P
