Born in 1995, Stacey is using the early days after her 18th birthday to launch her career and make a name for herself. She was born to Anna and Pierre Pilgrim in Toronto, Canada, where she has lived for the entirety of her life. Her brother is abrasive and controversial punk singer Pilgrim Pilgrim of Reckless Abandon. She is proudly French-Canadien, and she is a fluent speaker of both English and French. The youngster has spent the past few months penning songs in tandem with her father and a number of different song writers in tandem with finishing her high school studies. Before deciding to embark on her solo career, Stacey also applied and auditioned for the TV talent show "The Voice Canada." Although successful in her initial audition with the producers of the show, she decided not to pursue this option and pulled out before the live recordings in front of the judges. Since then, the young hopeful has looked at avenues on which to push her career forward. To date, she has used social media to spread a number of her singing videos. On YouTube, the sweet-mannered singer used songs by some of her favourite stars to promote herself. SYNCO's Never Really Mattered earned her a decent number of views in the three weeks after its release, before her own rendition of the number one single from Finnish pop star Pixie - Bold - received more than 150,000 views in less than a month, giving Stacey a small following. Those who clicked through from YouTube to her Facebook music profile were treated to rough demos of a number of her own original tracks, including the likes of Will of the World, Roses and Inside of Me - although it has been confirmed that none of these tracks is likely to make it on to any official recording further down the line.
Stacey Pilgrim draws her influences in song writing from a number of different avenues. In terms of her style, she claims her music is most like Nadia Berry, the legendary pop songstress who has inspired a generation. She also believes though that there is a new era of pop music in the industry now that will help to promote a change in music and a new wave of pop that will dominate the charts for years to come. She cites her favourite pop star of the moment as eccentric Finnish chart topper Pixie, adding that the quirky attitude and refusal to just be a carbon copy of everyone else makes the blonde a real pop star in the making. Other influential singers she cites as being personal favourites include Abie Lena and emotional country star Ellie Grace Summers. Stacey also recently praised the young pop band SYNCO, saying that the pop music world needs a strong and talented girl band to give it the sort of credibility it has had in years gone by with the likes of GirlSpice.
Although she has yet to secure a recording deal, the singer said she is happy to work on her own to prove her worth as a singer before the right deal for her needs comes along, refusing to just sign to any old label that comes along. Stacey plans originally to style herself as the queen of social media. She said that it is a path that has been trodden before, if only lightly, and one that she would like to highlight. Having seen the rise and fall of MySpace, the singer is convinced that Twitter and Facebook now has a large part to play in the future of an industry that is still adapting to the rigours of new media. She said the sharing aspect and the ability to advertise rather than merchandise will make the future of music change towards this sort of style of release. Stacey even went as far as to say that she would consider conducting her whole career on social media, such is the level of confidence she has in the power of the medium./Personal Life/Although most of her songs to date have been about love and the pain it can cause, Stacey Pilgrim claims to have never had a boyfriend herself. She said that she was too busy concentrating on school work for the most part of her life, and added that she was seen as too geeky to date by most of the boys she knew. The notions and emotions throughout her tracks come from her perception of other people and the way they hurt after relationships.
In her family life, Stacey is the baby of her clan. She was born seven whole years after her brother, RECKLESS ABANDON singer Pilgrim Pilgrim, a fact which deemed the two as quite distant from each other in early life. Pilgrim has admitted that he often felt his parents neglected him in favour of their darling daughter, a fact he said caused him to resent his baby sister. The two, although related, have barely spoken to each other in a number of years, although Stacey remains close to Pilgrim's estranged wife Envy, who was her babysitter when she was younger.
Stacey still lives with her parents in Toronto, Canada, where she says she is very happy. The teenager is very close to both of her parents, and wad always the apple of her dad's eye growing up.
