'Riot' is the lead single from 4U's highly anticapted album 'Domination' due out this summer. The girls has finally marked their spots in the music industry with their urban and pop influenced sound and aggrestive and bright personalities that isnt the normal from female groups. They have already gained some of the respect from musicians including Brittany Knox, The Weekend and Honor Wythns. Since the strong debut, 'Control Room' has not reflected what the girls can do vocally and musically as an group but when they released ' Urban Knockouts' (which debuted at number two) back last month that really shined on the girls musically side of their music, but records like ' Dont Make me Cry' and 'Slower' displayed the powerful and unique vocals the girls all devoloped to become not only an supergroup in music but a vocally forwarded hitlist. The girls who signed with Kiss My Pop always a year ago has finally lift-off this urban club banger to start off the Domination era along with 'Urban Knockouts' that has been added to the tracklisting on the album. This hardcore, hip hop style mixed with an urban flavor and pop foundation vocally has been the moment the girls has been waiting on to get that big break they need. With no one in music that has such an direct sound that has worked with some of hip-hop's hottest producers, one in the million vocal styles and star quality that has the group, not only the pop bad girls, but fashion's most forward thinkers that matchest perfectly with their bad girl attuides and sound. 'Riot' has that powerful name of 'starting something that no one has never seen or heard and making the movement out of control because of the sound and power of the music.. the riot gives the girls force, power to take over music like no other girl group has done before. They want to become the phemontal group that begins riot and crazyness because how famous and big their music is, the art, the clothes, the whole movement of this girl group will take over so much and has an effect on some many people that the riot will begin to the start of world domination.'

Each girl has something different to bring to the table and records as vocalists. They girls has had some formal training before the big signing to Kiss My Pop. The album does showcase the girls seperately as vocalist as well as the sounds reflects on each girls as a whole. In typical female groups it's always sometimes the lead vocalist (ex, Destiny Child was Beyonce Knowles) 4U didnt want to shadow someone out when they have devoloped so much vocally as an whole even before getting signed, they wanted to see the girls all shine so the fans will know personally the vocal strengths and personalities of all the girls.

Laci is by far the most powerhouse vocalist of the girls because of her ablity to give the song that power lifts it needs to have the big vocal style it needs. Her head voice is the strongest but she mixes it well with the head and chest voice, amazily going into different pitches that she controls very well with her steer notes and riffs that has an effortly power tone and melisma, that goes on to the further vocal strengths of doing riffs in seperate vowels and doing runs all in one without going into a different pitch or going too pitchy. Laci sings in severel keys on this song, during the first verse that has the other girls singing in and out the song as well but mostly doing backup haramonies. Laci gives us so much low register power notes in the first verse, she is belting out the sheer and easy notes to hit in the first verse when Danielle comes in with an deep and husty voice that goes into a middle range to give Laci the push she needs going into the pre-chorus. Aubrei gives the verse the extra angelic tone it needs in the back when she sings, Run the streets/give us war/all the love we need/is right here coming for war/ in the background. Laci takes the vocal break she needs when she jumps back into the reminder of the verse, going into a higher pitch saga of her remarkable pitch changes smoothly into the pre-chorus where all the girls join in the haramony but with the addictive beat in the background. The haramony is fast and quick but beautiful, here's the quick breakdown:

Danielle- The middle pitch of the haramony, she often stays in the middle part, adding the raspy tone but the smooth vocals that goes higher and highter after the original pitch with Aubrei.

Aubrei- Aubrei gives her vocal strength singing in a high falsetto, beautiful touched tone. /She sings you say you know me/ in a high pitch when Danielle takes on the lower notes in /but we're giving you this riot/ Aubrei repeats it in an pitch change when her falsetto goes into a melisma beautiful notes that echos the track mixing and then tranfers over to her lower notes with Danielle and quickly goes into..

Laci- Laci's riffs in the back and Bianca lower register with the other girls. Laci sings the same note as Aubrei in the part, but takes it more powerless when she is trying to save her breath control and vocal strengths till later in the song. Laci fades out for just a minute when Aubrei, Danielle and Bianca are all in lower register singing the pre-chorus to the invasation of Laci scream that goes smoothly into the chrous where Laci takes on her soulful voice.

Bianca- Bianca is the lower register haramony notes that mixes well with the two other girls.

During the chrous, the girls are all together singing but we hear Laci's soulful runs when the girls are in the background singing higher notes but not the highest to give Laci the push she needs to give off her soulful notes and belts. The girls does something memorable during the chrous when they sing in a scale of notes, going into a lower 'D' note to a high 'f' in the word 'Riot' Laci is the foundation they need when she jumps in the high 'f' notes into a powerful riffs and soulful scream and groan, getting more attrached to the song she goes into the second verse where Aubrei begins in. Aubrei sings in a sexy tone, not trying to out sing or do too much. She sings just enough for Bianca to come in and do a quick falsetto note that fades out quickly into Laci completing the verse, going into again the pre-chorus that Bianca does chilling runs into the back, breaking down her notes and control the different pitch change in the instrumental. The girls work together to give smoothness but power lifts between the notes.

The bridge is already an powerful hit production wise so all Laci did is toned down her pitch, adding the previous Aubrei and Bianca falsetto notes, mixing those together and adding Danielle husty runs in the back and then putting Laci in the input where Laci takes control and sings the bridge with much reasonance and control, even after the short intermission Laci still kills it vocally when her soulful runs are mixed with head notes and falsetto powerness.

When 4U Girl Danielle called Dark Child after meeting him in the parking lot of Universal Studios after talking about their reality show going out on DVD or even theatres later this year, she had to let him come back in the studio and work on some production for the girls. Dark Child has worked Brandy, Missy Elliot, Aayliah and many R&B artist. He is known for his amazing work in hip-hop and R&B sound that has unique inspirationed liftouts that mixes the concept of the track.

Dark Child Comment- " The girls has a lot of great ideas yo and it's the matter of getting someone to bring the idea to life. We wanted this album to sound like a action movie, an epic soundtrack to anything and that's what the girls wanted this album to sound like, an beginning of an action trilogy and I wanted that to come true yo for the girls because it's an dope concept and vision. I created something that makes the listeners want more after the liftoff of the song, makes the listerners anxious for the song to begin... anxious to hear the rest of track.. this record is one of the kind on the album and it was fun to work with because it gives you this feeling of freedom during the record. I want that anticaption to be hard and... just free on this record, and album.."

The liftout sounds like:
(begins 0:0-0:42)

The liftout is just an piano with knocks of drum sirening in the background of the piano, the liftout adds the anticaption to the already anticaption of the official instrumental before the vocal show begins with the girls. Soon as you press pay on this record, you hear the liftout and it goes smoothly into the domination where it all begins...

UserPostedImage

Just when you thoughts the liftout was the beginning of the sound, the liftout stops just for two sounds and then goes into this hip-hop club banger with people shouting in the background, ' we want freedom, we want you, we want freedom, we want you." in the background as the instrumental begins having you excited and thrilled to hear the record. Jermaine Dupree and Dark Child worked severel hours on trying to mold and shape the syths and bassline of the instrumental. The hard knocked drums in the back continues from the liftout but are more loud, the piano is now gone but has some influenced in the buildup bass and echos in the back with the girls recording their fists beating hard on a door that is mixed into the bassline and drum patterns before the verse arrangement of the instrumental begin. The girls does short runs and adlibs in the beginning where the verse starts right away with Laci's flawless vocals.

Sounds Like:
(
(begins 0:00- 0:29)

UserPostedImage

Laci and the girls go right into the verse. (read vocal breakdown above) The instrumental has this flow to the record with all the sounds and arrangement match until the intermission where the production changes just a little bit. The verses are fast and free, where Laci still gives the soulful and belting out her big and powerful voice, but still sounds fearless and bold in her vocal tone and style during the verses. The first verse is rather long than the second verse and the bridge because it presents the storyline and concept of the song that was written all by the girls. The pattern of the verse sound is similar but a little different but the pace Laci and the girls go isnt what the pace of the instrumental, Laci sings part of the verse or words then takes a part before going in again with the verse, moving forward with the storyline. The background sythns is so dope that Dark Child adding the knock out drums to the pattern of the verse then he took the echos from the girl vocals to echo after each word Laci says, giving the track an retro but an perfectly fitted urban track with the strong attuides presented and vocal type. The verse are epic but yet very realitic to the vision 4U girls has.

Verse arrangement continous on from the dive in arrangement of the track:
(verse arrangment begins at 0:29-0:47)

UserPostedImage

Previous in the breakdown, we mentioned the 4U girls sing in a quick haramony when the instrumental shuts down and we can only hear the hard rocking drums in the back, but more soft and smooth when the girls begin the flawless haramony arrangement before the chrous goes back in with the original arrangement of the record. When the girls all sing, we want someone to hear/ is anyone listening/louder we go/ as the instrumental gets approches lounder and lounder as the girls belt out but still in the pitch of the haramony to the instrumental exploding giving you the powerful sound as much as the powerful lyrics during the pre-chorus. The chrous gets heavy and hard as the chrous joins in with the original arrangement.

We want someone to hear/is anyone listening/louder we go/Run the streets/give us war/all the love we need/is right here coming for war/

UserPostedImage

It kicks back in to the chrous arranged with the original hard knocking drums, Dallas Austin did an amazing actually playing live instrumental in the studio with her live band that was added later to the mixing of the track later on that week. He wanted to add some live experience to 4U's music on the album. He played the drums and then mixed more of the original drum arrangement with his live arrangement and then added some previous sythns from the verse arrangement in the record to produce something as heavy and strong during the chrous to keep the listeners attention. Laci is still as fearless and bold vocal wise along with the other girls, the effects Dallas used was shots of shotguns and yelling and screaming that fades in and out during the chrous when Laci belts, we need justice/we need war/baby, this crew is going to destory it all/ the strong and confidence lyrics during the chrous is very bold before the girls do the vocally achieved scale singing on the word 'riot' up to the key 'd' to the 'f pitches and ranges of an piano. After the second chrous goes into the short intermission and the fast lined bridge that is quick and fun and transfers beautifully back into the last chrous that adds an remarkable outro.

Chrous sounds like:

(0:00-0:16)

UserPostedImage

After the last chrous comes in, the intermission of the record is short and quick but is also consider the bridge of the song. In the sound alike Sean Paul is in the background repeating a word in a jamician accent, the word he is saying in the background is replaced by saying the word 'Riot' just in the same way as the breakdown. Jermaine is in the background of the intermission arrangement saying, Riot in the back as the intermission turns into more of a dance break also when the instrumental speeds up and having the fast paced drums mixed along with the intermission for the bridge as the girls all sing in haramony the word 'Riot' very slowly and softly during the intermission then the intermission is fading out to Laci belting out the chrous one more time until the intermission creeps back quickly to the end and waking of the outro.

Intermission/voice mix sounds like:

(begin at 2:09-2:20)

Bridge/dance break sounds like:

(begin at 2:20-2:36)

UserPostedImage

After the intermission and bridge arrangement, the outro goes in for the last chrous to the sounds effects all combining together, yelling, the screaming and sounds of breaking glass is heard. The last effect heard is breaking glass and the girls all sounds as if they are walking away and turning off their mics in the studio then the beginning of the track where the liftoff is the piano and drums, it's heard again in the outro of the track but it's only the piano.

Lyrics

Throw that grenade,
give me that feedback.

Soliders and lovers,
bold girls with bad attuides
and means, it's time for the thrill.

It's a fight tonight,
time to get out the shadows
that kept us locked in at nights.
She walks in the street, everyone looks.
she seems so sweet, never thought she will
be dangerous. We want war, we want something
to fight for. Hear the voice carrying out,
in the background. Screaming and shouting give us
free, nothing is this extreme. We'll fade into the dark,
thought we were done, we will pop up, ready to take
over these streets. It's about time people hear these feet,
stomping againest all the norm you put us againest.

We want someone to hear, louder we go
run the streets. Give us war, all the love
we need is right here coming for war.

We need justice, (justice) we need justice,
dont be afraid, stare you right in the eye,
dont go soft on me because I'm a girl,
treat me like a solider at war. I can handle
my own, baby. I can handle my own, baby. Let's begin
something no one can stop, let's start a fucking riot.

Let's start fucking (riot)
let's start a fucking (riot)
baby, it's here,
(let's start a fucking riot)
baby it's here,
(let's start a riot)
Give me riot, r-r-r-o-it.
give me riot, r-r-r-oit,
I need that r-r-r-o-t,
give that riot we need,
the war is here, put your armor
on, time to kill.

You can try to clear us out,
we remain standing on this ground,
the people are getting angry,
the music is fire. It's no way to
come back, once you leave, join us in the fight.
It's all the moments we need, to show the world
we are the force, the force that reckons with us.

We want someone to hear, louder we go
run the streets. Give us war, all the love
we need is right here coming for war.

(Intermission/Bridge)
It's all in my mind.
I can see it now.
Victory is ours.
Riot crew is back.

We want someone to hear, louder we go
run the streets. Give us war, all the love
we need is right here coming for war.

(x2)
We need justice, (justice) we need justice,
dont be afraid, stare you right in the eye,
dont go soft on me because I'm a girl,
treat me like a solider at war. I can handle
my own, baby. I can handle my own, baby. Let's begin
something no one can stop, let's start a fucking riot.

Let's start fucking (riot)
let's start a fucking (riot)
baby, it's here,
(let's start a fucking riot)
baby it's here,
(let's start a riot)
Give me riot, r-r-r-o-it.
give me riot, r-r-r-oit,
I need that r-r-r-o-t,
give that riot we need,
the war is here, put your armor
on, time to kill.
