Foxxxy has hit the scene once again with a sick track about looking to the future and failing to changeGuess who's back? Foxxxy! Yo, when she went off on tour last year, it was the last we had heard from the girl in well too long! She hasn't released anything in nearly half a year but now the UK's sickest female MC is back with a track that might just be her best ever! When we first heard Foxxxy, she was singing songs about being yourself, standing up for what you believe in and then having a party. This changed later down the line so that her second batch of songs were mostly about hating someone and feeling jealous. If you thought them songs were dark, though, get your eyeliner and razor blades ready, innit, cos this new shit is so fucking dark it's gonna make emo look like bubblegum freaking pop music! Doom metal you say? Take a break, son, cos Foxxxy bringing doom to the hip hop scene and smashing you all around the face with it.
Turn the Page is the new Foxxxy track, a song that is fast and hard hitting with dark synthesisers and a heavy beat over the top. The verses sound dark and almost scary with the delivery, Foxxxy be spitting them words and thumping every line into your chest with her sick delivery. Man, this is why Foxxxy is owning the hip hop scene, innit? Her voice is wild man, and when she hit them lines in every verse, I'm like standing back in case she gonna jump out the speakers and hit me! And then I get an even harder smack from the chorus!
Remember all them times when Foxxxy was like bringing out her singing voice or getting group vocals for the choruses? That is gone! Gone, innit! This chorus sounds massive with a deep beat that is hitting me in the face and making me sit up and really listen. Her voice is throwing every one of them lines out in the chorus like with venom, it's sick! The choruses rapped, rhymes spat out with even more vigour than in the verses. Man, she is taking a new style that we never saw from Foxxxy before, and it is well good. I thought she could never get more original or sound better, but she is proving me wrong here. This is Foxxxy's best song yet. By like a mile, innit. If you think a song where there's like just rapping all the way through and in't no singing would sound a bit risky, you're wrong innit? This is beyond ace. This is something that goes straight on my playlist! Dre be pumping these tunes into my ears next time I'm out, yeah?
Then there's the lyrics! Man, DEM lyrics! Fuck, Foxxxy, what you been through, girl? These lyrics are ringing true, man, I feel like Foxxxy has experienced all this shit. She telling us that people want her to open up and turn the page to start a new chapter in her life, to change and to be happy, but she says that ain't possible. Man this girl be spilling out her guts on this track with some of the sickest rhymes and imagery that I ever heard. Ever. Man she is just insane and every time she ends a line with another sick as fuck rhyme I'm like on my feet! White girl is speaking the fucking language, innit? Ya know what this is? This is someone who gets the two things you need for a song in this genre, right. Number 1 - She gets herself and all of her feelings. Number 2 - She gets hip hop and rap and how it works.
This song flows, it makes sense, it speaks to everyone and it is absolutely insane man. Foxxxy may have been quiet for like a long time before now, but now she's back and cementing her place within the very top class of British hip hop. Next stop, the world!
