I consider myself a bit of a loner and just wondered what people think of the idea of a loner, is it a good or bad thing. I don't want to hang with people, and prefer spending time on my own more. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loner i consider this a good link to read up about it. Yeah but i'm posting this on the internet it's not like im speaking to people in person. the people on here don't know me so there's less pressure and i said i'm a bit of a loner, i might even not be a loner i don't know enough about it to know whether i'am or not, but i appreciate where your coming from and understand what you mean. |

well if you have at least one friend whom you hang out with, you're not a loner, since you are then interacting with others. Even if you have no friends, as long as you interact, you aren't a loner. The slightest conversation or ordering from a restaurant, not once in your lifetime though, you're still interacting. |

I think it's much more than that, for example your not going to ignore your family if your living with them, but you could still isolate yourself from people. Like i say it's just my opinion and i don't know that much about the topic and would like to learn more about it. But i appreciate everything your saying and any opinions are welcome. Also i don't have one friend who i hang out with, i used to have like 1 or 2 friends in school, but i finished school a year ago and sort of decided that i don't want to hang out with people. Total loner here .... and happy that way. I don't need to act like everyone thinks I should, I don't need to have a crowd of friends always around me to make me happy. I don't see why it should be seen as a bad thing. Not everyone needs to be with people. |

well, you can be happy being a loner, i'm not saying that it's a bad thing, I'm just saying that if you are alone, you are a loner, doesn't make you sad or happy necessarily. |

I'd hate to be a loner, people are far too interesting to be reclused from them! I love being with mates and others. It gives me a time to escape from my worries and just mess around, however when I'm on my own I tend to worry about things. I think I have a mental issue with paranoia. |

Don't worry, I have that feeling too. It's just people are more comfortable with others than alone. |

TP, can I say that you seriously talk balls? 1. Being alone doesn't make you a loner, and conversely, being with people doesn't mean you're not one - "alone" and "loner" are related, but are entirely different. 2. Being with people doesn't necessarily make people more comfortable. 3. "loner rhymes with boner lol" is not a good addition to what should be a philosophical conversation. |

And lately I've been filling my head with paranoic shit and I'm isolating myself again :( |

I see it this way, if your a loner, enjoy being it. Good things come from it. 1) you know more about yourself 2.) You get stay away from peer pressure and stay out of trouble 3.) If your a writer, this would be the best thing. 4.) You are what you are, and no one but yourself can change that. :) Just make sure you socialize with people and get exercise once in a while. I agree but not with 2 things. First of all, I don't talk balls because, you know, that's messed up. And Second, the definition of loner is being alone. Doesn't mean you're sad or happy, just means you're alone. |
