"It wasn't the life I wanted," Alec responses quickly. "We were poor, we were only my mother, my two younger sisters and I, and we were... Well, we were in Ireland. If that's not reason enough to want to he out of that life, then I don't know what is. Of course, that made me leave the rest of my family behind, and that has always bothered me a little bit. I couldn't do it again."
