    • Acts of Hate have been rocking the world since they first were signed to Chaos Records last year when they also had a run on the Guitar Legacy stage at Carnival of Sounds. This year the Canadian deathcore outfit is headlining our longest tour "Hard and Heavy Summer". The band will be touring in support of their new album "Odium Aeternum". As implied by the name, "Hard and Heavy Summer" is the heaviest Carnival of Sounds tour this year. Supporting Acts of Hate on the tour will be Post-Hardcore six piece Non-Crux, killer punk group out of Canada, Reckless Abandon, Protozoa and the Emancipators, a fresh prog-metal three piece from Colorado, and Jimmy Church, an outspoken punk rocker. You can catch all of these artists supporting Acts of Hate this summer as part of the Carnival of Sounds Concert Series.

    Acts of Hate's tour bus pulls into the parking lot of the Starland Ballroom, with the equipment bus trailing behind them. The door opens and the band comes filing out. "Hello, Cleveland!" Neil calls out to the empty parking lot. "We're in New Jersey, Neil..." Tony says, shaking his head. Sam, Scott, and Jay exit the bus, looking around. "Where is everybody?" Scott asks, perplexed. "Uhh...I think we're a day early," Sam says, checking his phone. "Yeah. We're definitely a day early." The rest of the band groan. "Well what do we do now?" Jay asks. Sam shrugs and heads back into the bus. "I'm gonna go back to sleep. Wake me up when it's time to do the show or when there's food. Whichever comes first."

    Neil and Scott sit outside that night's venue, occasionally signing autographs for the few fans that are already there. After 10 minutes of no fans and no interesting conversation, Scott stands up, stretching. "I'm going to take a nap before the show, Neil-o. See ya." Scott walks off in the direction of the bus. Neil sighs, bored as hell. He pulls out his phone, looking through the contacts until he finds "Carmeny Carmen." 'Hey,' he writes, and almost sends, but then realizes he likes her enough to add a couple E's. He texts her 'heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey' and presses send. Seconds after, he groans. "That might've been too many e's...shit," he says, nervous to be texting the girl he likes.

    Carmen gets the text and giggle, looking at it as she reads it outloud to herself. Sadly, Carmen is pretty inept at texting, so she calls Neil. "Neily Neil! Neily Neil! Neily Neil!" She sings with the sound of the phone ringing.

    Neil's phone starts ringing and he jumps, startled. He sees it's Carmen calling and answers right away, smiling widely. "Hi! what's up? I mean, uh, how are you?" he asks, trying not to sound stupid.

    Carmen is still midway through a "Neily Neil!" when he answers. She continues on for a moment before she notices that the ringing has stopped and somebody answered. "Oh! Neily Neil! Is that you?" She asks excitedly.

    "Carmen is in..." She pauses, actually not sure where she is. "New York. I think. Hold on..." She takes the phone away from her face. Over the phone, the sound of her shouting at somebody and then loudly asking them where she is is heard. She comes back to the phone right after. "Yep, Carmen is in New York. Where are you, Neily Neil?"

    The sound of Carmen's rental car starting can be heard over the phone. "Carmen will be there in a few!" She calls back and then immediately hangs up as she starts towards him.

    Just as she said before, Carmen was there in a matter of minute, as the posted speed limit signs meant absolutely nothing to her. "Neily Neil?" She calls out as she gets out of her car and starts wandering around, looking for him.

    Carmen beams at Neil the minute she sees him as she quick walks towards him. "Carmen is so happy to see you, Neily Neil!" She cheers, wrapping her arms around his neck and hugging him.
