  • No doubt the biggest band on Carnival of Sounds, Reported Failure is headlining the "Majestic Summer" tour which is playing the largest venues of any Carnival of Sounds Tour this year. The large venues allow the Sacramento, CA based quartet to show off their new, critically acclaimed album "Rome" off to thousands of people at a time. To support Reported Failure Carnival of Sounds has enlisted Ryan Williams's new indie-rock band PURE, legendary underground punk rockers The Harlots, and new face on the pop-punk/post-hardcore scene, Alex Simms. You can catch the Majestic Summer tour starting in July!

Reported Failure - July 12 - Camden, NJ @ Susquehanna Bank Center

For the first show of the first tour Reported Failure has done all year, the band knew they'd have to pull off a show that incorporated their new material, but also still made a great rock show. The tracks on the bands new album "Rome" are not poppy enough to to please fans of their earlier pop-punk material, and not heavy enough to please the fans of the bands previous endeavor, "Darkness". With anticipation constantly building through the night while great artists like PURE, The Harlots, Escape Artists never die, and Alex Simms took the stage, Reported Failure felt the pressure. In hindsight, however, we should have all known that the tracks on "Rome" were meant to be played live. Kicking off with the sheer power and emotion of "Days Spent in the Dark" the band played a good half of the new album but still crammed old favorites from their debut album as well as everything in between into the longest setlist we've seen from the band ever. From the thundering drum triumph on "Crumbling", to the bass blockbuster "The Day After Forever" to the guitar virtuoso on "Being Man" to the seven minute vocal epic "Land and Sea", Reported Failure continued their reign as one of them most powerful bands to see live in modern rock and roll.

With all of the buses parked up outside of tonight’s venue, Alex Simms is sat outside. Still relatively new to the industry this is his first real tour. He quietly watches the roadies taking equipment from the vans to the inside of the building in preparation for the show tonight, Alex’s focus seems to regularly switch between the roadies and his iPhone that rests perfectly symmetrical on the ground beside him. He’s sat against a wall which helps cover the majority of the singer in shade and occasionally takes a sip of an energy drink.

Reported Failure had crashed on the bus for the day after an exhausting show in New Jersey. Their bus driver had safely gotten them to the parking lot outside the show in Mansfield. Billie finally woke up to find that the rest of the band was still out. With a sigh he left the bus searching for a place to get coffee.

OOC: Oh! The Harlots are on that too, aren't they? Well I did pick up Escape Artists Never Die at the last minute for this tour, so if The Harlots need to drop this tour there will still be enough artists.

Reported Failure Setlist - July 17 - Cuyahoga Falls, OH @ Blossom Music Center
In Ohio yesterday Reported Failure mixed up theor set a little bit after a fairly straightforward show for the first few shows of the Majestic Summer tour. Uusually the band goes strong, fast, and heavy until the end. At that point they come on for an encore and Billie Beckett goes out alone to play FLeetwood Mac's "Landslide". Vin Peters had been coming onstage halfway through to play an acoustic guitar solo and then the rest of the band would come back for one or two more songs. Yesterday during the middle of the set the band left except for Billie who played a handful of acoustic songs alone including Landslide and even a Riot! in the Boulevard cover. The band came back though and finished the set in the traditional, loud fashion.
