Den immediately gets up looking shocked at Adam. He had never seen him like that, not even at the hospital with his sister. Something had obviously happened but Den just stares at Adam for a few seconds, not sure on what to do. After a few seconds, it all becomes too much for Den to see and he decides to say something.

"Adam, what's... What's wrong?!"

Den looks even more shocked as he opens his mouth but seems unable to find a good word to say. He begins to think of all the times he told Adam that things would have gone right eventually and of all the times he had seen him worried for his sister. So he just sits on the sofa and looks down. He was always good at trying to cheer other people up but not this time, there was nothing he could say because nothing could have brought Emerald back to Adam.

Den looks saddened at Adam as he opens his arms and immediately gets up to hug him tightly. As he begins to caresses his back gently to comfort him, he finally find some words to say "I don't believe in Heaven, but I know she's not suffering anymore now. Whenever she is, she is in a better place, Adam!"

Den keeps caressing the back and looking saddened. He still can't believe that either himself but still tries to cheer up Adam even if he knows that there's not much to cheer up after a death.

"Yeah, she didn't have to go but you have to stay strong now! Just think she's in a better place."

Den shakes a little his head as he says "She'll be fine. We Titans will be with her now that she signed with us, you don't have to worry."

"Well, we..."

Adam passes out before Den finishes replying and he stops talking looking at him in an even deeper shock. Den looks lost as he begins to shake Adam and call his name to wake him up.

Den caresses Adam's face, frowning a little and looks at him for a few seconds. He then says "Adam, you just passed out! I can't believe what's happening."

Den, still standing on his knees, looks down to think about what had just happened. He then looks up and tells Adam "You know, I'll be here with you for anything you need. I love you."

"No, it's ok! This mustn't be easy for you."

Den says as he looks at him straight into the eyes.

Den shakes his head, frowning a little more. He had obviously fallen in love with Adam and hearing something like that hurt him as he wouldn't want to lose him, so he almost shouts "No, don't say something like that! I feel like you feel guilty for that, but it's not your fault!"
