Mariko looks relieved. Her reputation hadn't preceded her,a clean slate. She sighs happily." Yes! I am a musican!" She squeals. Sometimes this fact still surprises her. " I play......sorta poppy rock?" Mariko says,scrunching up her face as she tries to describe it. " what about you? I am going to guess its not heavy metal?" Mariko says with a laugh. |

Evangeline smiles. "That's what I thought you would play. A sort if J-Pop. Wow, I really hope that wasn't racist..." She says back, all of her sentences running together as she speaks quickly, the way Evangeline always does. "Me? Heavy metal music? No! No!" She laughs. "I sing a sort of indie folk music... or, like, alternative country."

Evangeline laughs. "I suppose it's a bit of both. I have one song on the radio right now called Sadess is Sweet? It sounds like it would be slow and depressing, but its actually quite upbeat..." She smiles and shrugs. She realizes that Mariko hasn't introduced herself yet, but she figures out who she is from context clues, and from Evangeline's love of celebrity gossip. "So... Emerald was the one who killed herself in front of you, huh?"

" I can't remember the last time I turned a radio on. So I can't say Ive heard it yet." Mariko says,embarrassed. She takes out a small notepad and writes something in Japanese, Underlining it three times. " now I will check it out after I get home. I am sure it is wonderful. You strike me as being worth listening to." After hearing emeralds name,Mariko looks down at her glass and motions for another. " yes. That bitch is...was crazy. " Mariko says bitterly. " her girlfriend ,nina broke up with her and she just lost it." |

Evangeline smiles as she watches Mariko write something in her notepad, which she assumed as either her song's name in Japanese, or it was something like, "NEVER LISTEN TO THIS SONG EVER." Either way, she didn't care too much, and assumed the best. She frowns when Mariko mentions why Emerald killed herself. She knew that she had to be mentally unsound to do that to herself, but she also felt so sorry for her to feel so hopeless after somebody she loves leaving her that she thought that was the only way out. "That's... so tragic..." She says back quietly, making a motion to the bartender for another round of drinks for the two of them.

Ooc: that made me giggle. In retrospect, it was rather rude to write in another language and not explain what it was.
Mariko nods,looking into her glass. Seeing emerald as something less than human made it easier to deal with. Mariko had tried not to actually think about the event. Eva was far enough removed, it would do no harm speaking to her about it. Mariko nods her thanks for the drink before speaking. "Yeah...it's all my fault. I went to see nina with the intent of breaking them up....mission fucking accomplished." Mariko says with more remorse than she intends. " I may as well stabbed her myself. I felt nothing for nina,I barely knew her,yet I didn't want her with emerald." |

Marino giggles and blushes as soon as Eva says "fuck". It sounds odd coming from her mouth,but the effect works. Mariko sighs deeply. " you are right,Evangeline. It's just sometimes I can still see her eyes locked on mine as she stabbed herself....hell,I don't even know if she looked at me really. You are right though,it's not like nina left her for me. " Mariko sips her drink. " thank you,Evangeline. You don't know how many sleepless nights this has caused me." Mariko says with relief. |

Evangeline shivers. She couldn't imagine being in the same room with somebody who had killed themselves. When her mother died, she had been in the same house, and that still bothered her twelve years later. Her mother wasn't trying to kill herself. Practically apples and oranges between herself and Mariko's situation, and she knew that. "Have you talked to Nina since then?" She asks, wondering if she crossing a line with asking for more information.

Evangeline beams, happy to be anybody's "godsend." She shrugs, thinking about how she's never kissed anybody. "I think it's... been my father's fault. He's always been really protective over me and where I can go and who I can hang out with. I've been homeschooled all my life, never had very many friends... The most I have got to hang out with people was every week at temple..." She shrugs. "I was never allowed to date, and I never really figured out how to talk to guys, so... I don't." She laughs.
