Tessa looks up from her phone at Adam and raises an eyebrow. "I don't think I was talking to myself... at least if I was I didn't realize it..." She looks back down at her phone and then realizes that she was playing one of the timed levels. "Dammit, that was my last life..." She whispers to herself, and then cringes. She really was talking to herself.

Tessa raises her eyebrows. She was always willing to hear how to make something easier, even if it is just a game. "Yeah? What is it?" She asks.

Tessa laughs a little and shrugs as she wins the next level. "Uh, yeah. I guess it was. Thanks." She starts the next level, not looking up from the screen. "I'm Tessa, by the way, nice to meet you."

Tessa immediately looks up from her game and looks down at her body. Short and stocky, like always. Definitely not the model's build. Somebody like Adam surely knew that, so she immediately took Adam's comment as a sarcastic insult. "Okay, fuck you, too," She says back, crossing her arms across her chest, waiting for the next wave of comment. She had taken this all before. She used to be way overweight, but lost a lot of it in college. She had heard worse.

Tessa raises her eyebrows again. He seemed genuine enough, but she didn't trust guys who told her that they found her attractive. Years of being made fun of for her weight and looks had completely killed her ability to think people could ever find her attractive. "Um, thanks..." She says back, looking back down at her phone, pretending to send a text message. "I'm a singer. I'm in a band..."

"That's cool, I guess..." Tessa says back, now wishing that this guy who invited himself over to her table would just go away. "We're called Cherry Street. It's a four-part all-female dance-punk band."

Tessa looks down at her empty coffee cup and shrugs. She might as well take advantage of this situation. "Um, yeah. Sure. I'll have another."

Tessa blushes, a little bit of pink shining above her cheekbones. "Thank you," she says back softly, taking a sip of it.

"Yeah, the coffee is great," Tessa says back with a shrug, taking another sip of it. "You know somebody who would be interested in me? Who? And in what way interested?"

"Uh, okay. What's his name?"
