Ada looks down and nods. "Compared to my mother, yes... He is the better one. Rather than blatantly telling me that it never happened, he just ignored the fact that it did. He never hugged or kissed me after he found out. It was like I was tainted."

Ada shrugs. "I suppose it is just the Germany way of handling it..." She says back. "People do not go to therapy or take medication to get over situations like this. In Germany, you just... you just deal with it."

Erich is in the kitchen of their New York apartment. In the past few days,he's finally allowed himself to embrace the city....even if the pace salsa company never will. It's a sacrifice to be made. He hates salsa anyway. Feeling a little under the weather,he is pouring a glass of orange juice. |

Ada sluggishly walks into the kitchen, every inch of her body feeling tired even though she just woke up. "Guten Morgen, meine liebling..." She says softly, wrapping her arms around Erich's waist and laying her head on his back.

Ada laughs a little and nods. "I hope that is why I am tired... I do not want to get sick as well..." She says back, closing her eyes. "Do you know that 60% of cases of schizophrenia can be traced back to the mother developing influenza during pregnancy...?" She shivers. With she and Erich as parents, there was already a strong chance that their child would be psychologically damaged. She didn't want to give it an actual illness as well.

"Right, you are the one with defective genes," Ada says back sarcastically, shaking her head, rubbing her fingers on the scars on her arm instinctively. She takes the orange juice from him with a small "danke," taking a little sip. She hated orange juice, but she couldn't argue with its supposed healing powers.
