VITO CLEMENTE // THE MACHINIST (Born Vittorio Vladimiro Clemente, August 1st, 1981)
INSTRUMENTS: Vocals, Keyboard, Electronics, Samples, Programming, Guitar
GENRES: Trip Hop, Noise Music, Alternative Rock, Experimental Rock, Experimental Metal, Electronic, Ambient Music, Extreme Metal, Avant-Garde Metal, Progressive Rock

Born in Lansing, Michigan to italian immigrants and growing up in Detroit, Vittorio "Vito" Clemente has been involved in music his entire life. Taught by his father to play piano at the early age of 7, Vito's been playing, performing and recording music ever since. His entire life he's been part of many music 'scenes,' the hardcore punk scene, the electronic music scene, and even the dreaded hipster/indie rock scene, but his overall dissatisfaction with what he's found has lead him to forming his own individual creative outlet: The Machinist. "I am the Machinist. The Machinist is me. Why the name? I like the movie. The one with Christian Bale? Yeah." Known for his attitude, Vito's music first became noticed when he began to perform live in Detroit, the staple of his performances being that he would perform cover versions of Top 40 hits - often changing them completely in a way that snidely mocked the banality of popular music while simultaneously recreating the song in a radically new way. "You don't know terror until you see me on stage, frothing at the mouth and shaking on the ground while I scream my way through a black metal version of a Suzie song," says Vito, grinning. The success of his first demo tape, the aptly named TOP 40 GRINDCORE KARAOKE has led him to pursue a wider following, by releasing a full length EP and by planning to tour the country. For those wishing to check out his music, he has recently released his debut EP entitled NONE OF THEM KNEW THEY WERE ROBOTS, with a wide array of musical styles touching on trip hop, alternative metal, rap rock, and avant-garde music.

Erich: you sound so up my alley,I wanna dry hump a bundle of broccoli and slather myself in cheese sauce.

Karoliena: sometimes it really hits me just how disturbed you are.

Erich: fear not,my Swiss miss. I don't even like broccoli. Especially in that way. Now corn? I'd be all over that.
