KATIE COYLE | The Return of an Icon | THREE DAYS
Katie Coyle announces comeback gig After a year away from the limelight, we are pleased to announce that Katie Coyle will return to the stage on Saturday 31st August for a one-off concert to mark her return to the music industry. The English born singer was last seen on stage on tour across Australia with former best friend Nadia Berry last summer, and will make her return in her adopted hometown of LA in what is surprisingly her first headline show in the United States, despite having scored a number of chart topping hits Stateside. The concert will have a distinctly intimate feel, taking Coyle away from the stadia and arenas to which she has become accustomed, and the 771 capacity El Rey Theatre in LA will provide the perfect low key setting for the dramatic return. Support on the night will come in the form of exciting young folk pop artist Evangeline Wolfe and one of the industry's fastest rising stars in Sara Daniels.
Speaking of the show, Katie said: "It's so exciting to be getting back to the stage again. It's only been a year since I toured co-headline with Nadia but it feels like so much longer. It's been a much needed rest for me, but it has been a long time to be away from doing what I love, and I can't wait to get back on stage on Saturday. The fact it's in an intimate setting is wonderful, and I wanted to choose something in LA that let me get back close to my fans before I get back on a larger tour in 2014. It's also the first time in like three years I've played a show, aside from awards ceremonies, in the US. It's the first time I've been able to play over here since my first ever tour with Suburban Sunrise, so that'll be great - the USA has been like home to me for the past couple of years. But yeah, overall I'm just so excited to get back out there. There will be some surprises and some old favourites. I don't think anyone will be disappointed."
Tickets for the show will not go on a normal general release. Instead, they will be allocated on a first come first served basis from the time doors open on Saturday evening. With only 700 available, it is going to be difficult to get tickets, and fans are advised to queue well in advance. The cost per ticket will be $30, with 100% of the profits from ticket sales being given to a well known woman's shelter in the LA area. |

The countdown to the big comeback is on!"Well hi to all my lovely little Springs on a Saturday morning....THE Saturday morning. I can't believe it's only a few hours to go now until I get back on the stage again. I'm so damn nervous. I'm super excited though. I was up all night tuning my guitars and practicing all my songs that I haven't played for a while. I really want tonight to be perfect for you guys, because you have stayed with me through all of this and supported me throughout my break from music, so I love you all. I think I've re-written the setlist for tonight about 15 times lol. I'm so indecisive and I can't decide what I want to open with. Nightmare! I promise a good show though. I really am excited to get up there and shake off the cobwebs. It's gonna be a special night LA. Oh....I heard some of you have been queueing for tickets since Wednesday! You guys are dedicated! I'm gonna come out and say hi to you before the show and I want to say thank you so much for being so dedicated. I could not have had a career so massive and successful like this without such committed and dedicated Springs!

"That was the most incredible night of my life. The number of people who showed up outside to try to get tickets was incredible, all of the support acts were unbelievable and then from the moment I stepped on stage it was just....perfect. The love I got from the floor was seriously everything I needed last night. I was nervous about getting back up there for the first time in a year, but my Springs showed me so much support that it literally brought a tear to my eye. I loved every moment up there last night, and I think it might have been the best show I have ever played in my life. Everything from the setlist to the way we executed it just hit the right note and it was like one of those dream moments where the whole night goes so smoothly. I wish it could have lasted forever. During that encore, especially during House of Cards, I could barely even hear myself in my ear monitor. You guys were seriously so loud out there - it was amazing! To see that I still have this support after all this time is absolutely unbelievable to me. I love every one of you. This is our moment. I also want to thank you all for this massive support by also saying that this is only the start of the comeback. Next Sunday - keep your eyes peeled. My new single will be streaming from then! Excitement!
"Of course, last night also became about more than just the music. For anyone who saw it, I seriously did not know he was going to come up on stage - for those who haven't seen or heard yet, at the end of House of Cards, Hayden Roberto Merjos invaded my stage and got down on one knee to propose to me. This was the best moment of my life, I swear. I cried for about five hours. I can't believe he did it - especially in front of all you guys, and his cousin and sister. I just want to say thank you for all of your messages since. I can't wait to Mrs Merjos. I love Hayden so much and he made me such a happy girl last night. Everything is amazing right now.
