Artist: Michelle Green
Title: Live To Tell
Genre: Pop, R&B, Acoustic, Dance, Sophisti-pop, Soul
Length: 49:17
Format(s): CD, Digital Download
Recorded: June 2012 - May 2013
Label: Chaos Records

"Live To Tell" is the third studio album from English singer/songwriter, Michelle Green and is set to be released on 26th May through Chaos Records. The album follows on from her highly successful sophomore album, 'Exiled', which was released in late 2011 and met high critical acclaim. 'Exiled' was written, released and recorded during a very dark time for Ms. Green as she had been diagnosed with kidney cancer and severe depression. Things were so tough, the songstress even attempted suicide by overdosing on paracetamol and even broke off her relationship with the lovable pop star, Kato. Michelle revealed in a special interview dedicated to her new album that the 'Exiled' era holds many horrible memories and whilst she is proud of her work, the album as whole always reminds her of a low point in her life. The new album, 'Live To Tell', is set to be miles apart from her previous work as Green has gained more confidence and is willing to heavily experiment with new sounds and new people in the studio. The young singer also worked on her third record with a more positive mindset as beating cancer, becoming engaged to Riley Hamilton and having a makeover really lifted Michelle's spirits over the past year. The title of the album comes from Michelle overcoming her illness and setbacks in late 2011 - early 2012 and entering a brand new chapter in her life. The concept of 'Live To Tell' is about being comfortable with yourself, being what to be, doing what you want to do and saying what you want to say.

"I feel like this album is just a breathe of fresh air, a new start and a clean slate for me and my fans. The second album, as proud of it as I am, still holds many sad memories for me and I actually felt like giving up and calling it a day on the music career because the whole process was so mentally and emotionally draining. However, I stuck it out for the fans and I'm glad I did because I wouldn't have grown and learned much from that experience if I just gave up and I certainly wouldn't have this new album which I am so proud to call my own. For this album, I was just letting it all go and doing what I wanted to do. Having the freedom to do what I wanted really made me passionate about the project and enjoy it a whole lot more. I actually connect with this album so much as I was heavily involved in everything and was so enthusiastic during the production of it. That was a major problem with the 'Exiled' album - my heart wasn't in it. I just wanted it over and done with so I could lay in bed and feel sorry for myself and that's not the attitude to have when you're working on a huge project and have lots of lovely fans waiting to be pleased but again, you live and you learn. I got past the horrible experience, I lived to tell....so what I did there? I'm so funny....anyway, the themes on this album are basically 'growth', 'confidence' and 'freedom' all of which I have experienced during the process of making 'Live To Tell'. The 'growth' aspect is shown in every song on the album. Lyrically, it might not be about growing up and learning but through either the writing, my vocals or production, you'll see my personal growth as a person and artist. The whole 'confidence' side of the album again comes out in the production of the album and my image for this era. I want people to feel empowered by this record and just be who they want to be. Even if only one person in the whole world gains confidence from listening to this album then I'll be happy, job done. I mean, I'm one of the meekest and most shy people to walk the earth but I finally found my inner confidence and if I can do that, anyone can. The theme of 'freedom' is shown in lots of the tracks due to their fun, carefree nature and if you look at the album as a whole, you could say it is very 'free' as their is no set style or genre, nothing is constricted and set to meet a certain criteria. In the past, I always felt pressured to meet demands and be this cute, innocent, constantly happy version of Michelle Green that everyone expected to see and that was hard to keep up. I'm only human; I get bored with the same style, I get upset, I go through trauma, I learn and I ultimately change. Breaking the mould was a hard process but it was extremely worth it and if I didn't say 'enough is enough' and continued to stay quiet then this album would never have happened."

The album was in production for the best part of a year and in fact, the final tracklist was only decided last week as two artists agreed to collaborate with Michelle towards the tail end of the recording sessions. The majority of the record was recorded at her home in London as she lives with her fiance, Riley, in the 'Weekend Complex' which has a built in recording studio. The range of producers that have worked with Weekend are still close friends to the group and were more than willing to work with Green on her new project. All the new, different minds she was acquainting herself with really helped to open her mind even more and allowed her to experiment with an array of different genres that would go on to inspire some of the album tracks on 'Live To Tell'. This album is also host to four major collaborations which is something Michelle is still very new to. Her sophomore album included a duet with Katie Coyle whom shared a similar musical style at the time. However, Green decided to experiment further by bringing in some well known male artists to lay down some vocals for the album. Despite branching out on producers and collaborations, Michelle hasn't taken a back seat and let the others do the hard work. Miss Green has writing credits on all of the songs and the outside lyrical assistance was very limited as only Michelle truly knew which way she wanted a track to sound. For the first time ever, the starlet even produced a track on her own in order to really put her stamp on the record.

"I feel like I just HAD to produce a track because I had a very strong idea of which direction I wanted the album to take and whilst the producers that I worked with listened to me and did an amazing job, I felt like I needed to make it just a tad more personal so I produced a track all by myself for the first time. It was disastrous at the beginning but again, you learn from your mistakes and I went on to produce a track that even made the final cut! It's a Motown inspired slow jam which is the type of music I love most, not a lot of people know that and I haven't really got to play around with that genre before so it was great not only to a track like that but to also produce it myself. Hopefully for album number four, I'll be producing the whole record!"

SINGLES

Break The Dawn was the lead single taken from 'Live To Tell'. It was released in February 2012 and marked Michelle's first piece of new material in over a year. 'Break The Dawn' became Michelle's biggest opening week sales and is also her most successful single in Australia (reaching #1 for 4 weeks). The single managed to peak at #2 over here and became another consecutive top ten hit for Green. The song debuted Michelle's edgier image and possessed a heavy dance sound which differs greatly from her previous indie-pop style.

Explode was the second single taken from the album. The track was teased back in March when a behind the scenes montage of the music video was uploaded onto her official site. The video saw Michelle in various black outfits and one resembling snake skin. 'Explode' premiered in late April and was met to high acclaim an garnered a lot of media attention for its suggestive lyrics and 'sexy' single cover. So far, the track has reached #8, making it Michelle's eight consecutive top ten hit.

Kato: I think I speak for everyone when I say we've been waiting for this album for a very, very long time now ;) But now we can't wait to hear some more tracks since the first two were so amazing. I'm loving your transformation and everything so good luck with the album and since I'm late, congratulations to you and Riley both on the engagement and the baby!

Artist(s): Michelle Green & Joey Frankson
Title: Hold On My Heart
Length: 3:44
Genre: R&B
Written By: J.Frankson, M.Green, B.Littlewood
Produced By: KOOKIE

Background Information
The first track on 'Live To Tell' is one that shows off Michelle's new experimental approach to her music; vocally, production wise and lyrically. 'Hold On My Heart' is a track reminiscent of old school R&B which is a genre Michelle has never been involved in before. Another thing that stands out about the song is that it features a rap from Teen Titans member, Joey Frankson, which again, is another surprise as Michelle has rarely collaborated during her career and certainly not with a rapper. Michelle's vocals on the track are extremely different to what we normally hear - gone are the big belting notes and the husky tones. Instead, we hear Ms Green sing in a high, falsetto, Mariah Carey-esque voice which she manages to pull off tremendously. Whilst this song may not be everyone's cup of tea, it really highlights Michelle's creativity and her willingness to try out anything and take risks. Its urban inspired sound make the track seem like it would do well in the American market if it were to be released as a single. The throwback styled track was produced by KOOKIE, who has worked with Mercedes Payne and other R&B stars over the past year.

Description
A mid-tempo, light and old school reminiscent track opens up Michelle's third album. Immediately as the song begins to play, one can tell that this a throwback and already sets the 'unexpected' tone of the whole 'Live To Tell' record. Similar to a track of 1990's/early 2000's Mariah Carey, the easy on the ears, flowing track begins with Michelle singing in a higher tone than usual which immediately throws listeners off. Although Michelle is known for her tremendous vocal ability, many associate her with big, 'belting' notes and not necessarily with breathy, angelic like notes. The song contains a very upbeat, 'jumpy' playing of a piano which puts a smile on the listeners face as the flow along with the track and Michelle's beautiful, smooth vocals. As the pre-chorus arrives, Michelle turns up the volume a little and traces of the familiar 'diva' style voice can be heard. However, as soon as we arrive at the chorus, Michelle stuns us by going completely falsetto and singing in an almost impossible, whisper like way which again, the listeners have never heard before. The songs flowing, 'happy' sounding instrumentation differs from the lyrics though as they contain many feelings of doubt, questioning and uncertainty. It's only when really analysed that the listener will understand the true deepness of the track and the images the lyrics conjure up. The sudden arrival and fast paced half singing/half rapping of the featuring artist, Joey Frankson also comes out of the blue, immediately after Michelle finishes singing the chorus for the second time. When Joey raps, his English accent comes through which gives the very American R&B styled track a lot of edge and some may say that it feels out of place. During the final repetition of the chorus, Joey can heard repeating selected words that Michelle is singing. As the track draws to a close, the backing track slowly fades which makes the artists' voices stand out even more as the sing to one another. This time, things have been switched round. Joey is now singing his line; 'oh baby if you're dreaming', in a high pitched tone whilst Michelle sings hers in a lower register.

Michelle Green wrote:
"This song was chosen as the opening track as it's very easy on the ears, innocent, there's nothing over the top about it and it sort of lures the listener into a false sense of security because BAM!, the next track and the majority of the album is quite in your face. Although it includes a rap, Joey does it in a very laid back manner that really fits in with the track. He doesn't start sounding aggressive or too fast paced, he doesn't start swearing and the backing track doesn't change for his segment either so I think it all flows nicely.

The song is about believing in your relationship and holding your hands up and saying, 'hey, if I get hurt then I get hurt'. I think a lot of people are too scared to move onto the next stage of their relationship because they're scared that they'll get hurt or experience a bad situation like they had in a previous relationship or maybe this is their first serious relationship. I was like that for a long time and it's only when I realised that love is what you make it, I decided to get more serious in my relationship. We're always told and lead to believe that one day we will meet our Prince Charming, get married, have kids and live happily ever after but the reality is, that idea very rarely happens. Love isn't perfect, relationships have rough patches, that's just life. You're supposed to love someone's little flaws because that's when makes them unique, you're supposed to overcome the setbacks together because that's what makes you stronger and if you get hurt, you can walk away knowing that you've learned from your experience. This song addresses the issue that this 'fairy tale styled, true love story' does exist but it's sort of falsely advertised and comes with a few unwanted additions that just have to be dealt with or accepted."

This feels too good to be true, I must be dreaming
All the things he does for me, I can't believe what I'm seeing
Is this all a lie? Is he being deceiving?
Well I'll put my heart on the line and keep believing.

When I feel cold inside, he gets my fire burning
Just one look in his eyes, he gets my heartbeat racing
They say true love is all lies and the stories are deceiving
Well I've let him have hold of my heart, gotta keep believing.

He might not be your standard knight in shining armour
So what if he's always late?, he'll always be a charmer
I don't care if we don't ride off into the sunset,
I know he'll always catch me and be my safety net

If I'm dreaming, I'm keeping my eyes closed, ready to see how far we go
It might not be a true love fairy tale but I'm gonna enjoy the ride as we set sail
Through all the bumps, we'll keep holding on
Through all the cracks, we'll stay strong
We could be thrown overboard at any second, come crashing down to our end
We might not say 'till death do us part', but as of now he's got a hold on my heart

Mama said she knows best, that all men out there are worthless
Used to believe every word she said, now I'm gonna put it to the test
I might get hurt along the way, I might end up in a total mess
He's got my heart, he might keep it safe. He might rip right out my chest

I've been lost, I've been the Damsel in Distress
But my baby came to rescue his Princess
Who knows, this could all turn out to be a disaster
But I've got my fingers crossed for a happy ever after

If I'm dreaming, I'm keeping my eyes closed, ready to see how far we go
It might not be a true love fairy tale but I'm gonna enjoy the ride as we set sail
Through all the bumps, we'll keep holding on
Through all the cracks, we'll stay strong
We could be thrown overboard at any second, come crashing down to our end
We might not say 'till death do us part', but as of now he's got a hold on my heart

I ain't exactly a hero or a role model, it's a well known fact that I like drinking from the bottle and;
I don't keep up with the world and the trends, whether it's fashion or Twitter, I just nod 'mhmm, whatever'
Ain't no cookie cutter perfect teen with the flawless skin that's plastered over magazines
Baggy jeans and plain white T, leave the 'bed hair' on and there, that's me
A little rough round the edges but I don't wanna be pretentious
All I wanna do is love my girl, hold her tight and keep her close her close all through the night
Take a look at me and judge, cos I really don't give a UH!
I could try to be Prince Charming, I could try to be her Superman
I could give her the whole world on a plate and it wouldn't even mean a thing
All she wanna know is that I got her back and when she falls, I'm here ready to catch
Might get crazy sometimes, might even cross a few lines
Might get a little bumpy and have to hold on for our lives
I'll never let go of her heart, it's 'till death do us part'
I'll never mess 'round, always love her like I did from the very start

If I'm dreaming, I'm keeping my eyes closed, ready to see how far we go
It might not be a true love fairy tale but I'm gonna enjoy the ride as we set sail
Through all the bumps, we'll keep holding on
Through all the cracks, we'll stay strong
We could be thrown overboard at any second, come crashing down to our end
We might not say 'till death do us part', but as of now he's got a hold on my heart

Oh baby if you're dreaming
Then I'm keeping my eyes closed
What if you stop believing?
What if you ever let go?

Title: Break The Dawn
Performed By: Michelle Green
Length: 3:52
Genre: Dance/Pop
Written By: M.Green, A.Johnston
Produced By: Jarmel
From The Album: Live To Tell

The Track
Break The Dawn is the lead single from Michelle Green's forthcoming third studio album 'Live To Tell'. The track takes a different direction from previous releases. It opens with a pulsating, jumpy synth which already has you questioning whether or not this is actually a Michelle Green track. Around 15 seconds into the song, Michelle starts to sing in a throaty, sexy voice in which an English accent can be detected. In the first verse, the jumping of the track fades ad she sings over a calm beat which sounds like a muffled version of the pulsing intro. The beat sounds as if it's bubbling and simmering up, ready to blow at any minute. During this verse, Michelle is getting ready for a night out and expresses her excited for the night ahead. Michelle is only focusing on tonight and doesn't seem to have a care about the consequences; (/Don't care about tomorrow, tonight's what it's all about/). She then ends the first verse with a command; /Keep the party jumping/. Ms Green has no desire on stopping the fun any time soon and these commands are given throughout the whole song with one at the end of each verse. Moving onto the second verse, things become a little more intense as a thumping synth sound returns and grabs your attention. Michelle's vocals and this sound actually go together quite well and don't clash or overpower one another. In this verse she is right in the middle of 'party time' and starting to down the fruit juice; (/Sipping until I'm empty, come and fill me up/Bottle after bottle, too much ain't enough/). Another command of 'Keep the shots coming' is given to end the verse. It transitions into the chorus rather nicely and easily as if sweeping into the heavy, ground stomping, hand raising beat which wouldn't sound out of place at a nightclub in Ibiza. Michelle sings in a powerful voice during the anthem like chorus however during the whole 'break the dawn' segments, he voice is calmer and sound laid back which creates an almost euphoric feel. The arrival of the third verse brings a darker side to the song with a heavier, 'clunkier' sound and sexual lyrics such as '/Two strangers in the corner getting a little too close/That's just the we do it, baby anything goes/'. Green then commands us to 'keep the bass pumping' as she continues partying on into the fourth verse which doesn't sound as dark but still has an urgency about it. Lines such as; '/Another sip of Jack and I'll be feeling all right/' and '/I'll do a dance for you, gonna pull you closer/' definitely show us that the good girl has left the building and the inner [party] animal has been let loose. The fourth and final command of 'keep the speakers pumping' is sung seductively to us in Michelle's husky, rich voice. The catchy chorus swooshes right in again and picks you right up and gets you lost in it. A busy dub-step breakdown catches listeners off guard as she sings the line 'break the dawn' over again in a chilled out yet stuttering (through the use of editing) voice, this goes on for quite some time before the track levels out into a smooth, quiet beat as she sings the middle 8. Michelle's vocals are breezy and light as air as she refers to her good girl persona; /I'm not usually one to do this/Something just got me caught up the music/I'm a really good girl at heart/. Forget the good girl though!; /But this beat makes me wanna party hard/. The chorus then returns in its usual manner. Once Michelle stops singing, the track continues for a few seconds with a stomp and clap sound repeating for a few seconds followed by a crashing sound which fades out, bringing the song to a close.

Michelle's Comment

Michelle Green wrote:
Being away from the music scene for like a year really puts a lot of pressure on you for when you make a comeback. People expect something huge from you and you really have to deliver otherwise your new project just won't take off and you're back to square one and might not be lucky enough to get another chance. For me, I just had to do something exciting and different because I felt that my music was getting quite predictable and I played it quite safe in my career up until now. I'm not saying I dislike my older material, I love it and that's what got me to where I am now but I just wanted to try something new and throw people right off and really surprise them. Life's all about taking risks and over the past year I've learned to do that and it's really reflected on this new album.

This track, 'Break The Dawn' was chosen as the lead single because I think it really packs a punch and it's really one of the more standout tracks from the new record. Previous songs had been either mid tempo pop songs or ballads so a fun filled, heavy dance song was just the best way to show a different side to me. Lyrically, it's a bit risque and hints at a few things which good people certainly shouldn't do and I certainly don't behave like that *laughs*, it's just a wild song that fits a wild beat and it's all about having fun and I'm all for having fun just don't take those lyrics to heart. 'Break The Dawn' was written back in summer 2012 and on paper the track looked OK but I didn't have a melody or anything for it, I just wrote the track out of boredom with one of my friends and when I returned to the studio I sort of forgotten about the song. In October when I returned to the studio after a little break I met this producer, Jarmel who is just a darling and was so so sweet and easy to work with. We we're talking about taking a new direction with the album and when we started talking about the whole club/dance sound the lyrics I had written for 'Break The Dawn' suddenly popped into my head so I had to rummage through all my files and rediscover the song. Jarmel also had this beat for a while and I decided to try it out alongside my song and it just came together perfectly. Really the track came out of boredom and two old, forgotten about products but the result is amazing and I love the track and hope you all do too!

Put two in the air if you're feeling like me
Young, hyped up and a little freaky.
Got the new shoes on and the lip gloss out
Don't care about tomorrow, tonight's what it's all about.
Keep the party jumping.

It's getting late, about a quarter to three
Still going strong, getting a lil' crazy.
Sipping until I'm empty, come and fill me up
Bottle after bottle, too much ain't enough.
Keep the shots coming.

Although the DJ's fast asleep and there's not a beat,
Baby we still live on, the night is young.
I still feel stone cold sober, the party's still not over
Early AM and I've just begun;
We're gonna break, break, br-break, break the dawn
Gonna break, break, br-break, break the dawn
Palms to the sky, gonna live while I'm young
I'm gonna break, break, br-break break the dawn

The sun is rising up just like the contents of my cup
But I'm not stopping, my adrenaline's rushing
Wild like an animal, it feels so good it should be criminal
Come over here and lock me up
We're gonna break, break, br-break, break the dawn
Gonna break, break, br-break, break the dawn
Palms to the sky, gonna live while I'm young
I'm gonna break, break, br-break break the dawn

Celebrating just like it's my bday
Gonna rock out tonight, own this party.
Two strangers in the corner getting a little too close
That's just the we do it, baby anything goes.
Keep the bass thumping.

Getting so confused by all these flashing lights
Another sip of Jack and I'll be feeling all right.
I'll do a dance for you, gonna pull you closer
You ain't going nowhere until I say it's over.
Keep the speakers pumping.

Although the DJ's fast asleep and there's not a beat,
Baby we still live on, the night is young.
I still feel stone cold sober, the party's still not over
Early AM and I've just begun;
We're gonna break, break, br-break, break the dawn
Gonna break, break, br-break, break the dawn
Palms to the sky, gonna live while I'm young
I'm gonna break, break, br-break break the dawn

The sun is rising up just like the contents of my cup
But I'm not stopping, my adrenaline's rushing

I'm gonna break, break, br-break break the dawn

Break, break
Br-br-break, break
Br-br-break, break the dawn, dawn
Break, break
Br-br-break, break
Br-br-break, break the dawn, dawn

I'm not usually one to do this
Something just got me caught up the music
I'm a really good girl at heart
But this beat makes me wanna party hard
(Party hard, hard, hard, ha-a-a-a-a-a-ard)

Although the DJ's fast asleep and there's not a beat,
Baby we still live on, the night is young.
I still feel stone cold sober, the party's still not over
Early AM and I've just begun;
We're gonna break, break, br-break, break the dawn
Gonna break, break, br-break, break the dawn
Palms to the sky, gonna live while I'm young
I'm gonna break, break, br-break break the dawn

The sun is rising up just like the contents of my cup
But I'm not stopping, my adrenaline's rushing
Wild like an animal, it feels so good it should be criminal
Come over here and lock me up
We're gonna break, break, br-break, break the dawn
Gonna break, break, br-break, break the dawn
Palms to the sky, gonna live while I'm young
I'm gonna break, break, br-break break the dawn

Artist: Michelle Green
Title: Explode
Genre: R&B
Length: 3:42
Written By: M.Green, S.Hollywood
Produced By: C.Meyer
Label: Chaos Records
From The Album: Live To Tell

PopJustice Review
Michelle Green arrived on the music scene back in 2010 at just the tender age of fifteen. Many people wrote her off before she even opened her mouth due to her young age and the sense of naivety that surrounding her. One thing that she can do though is prove people wrong. Critics lauded her debut album and it went on to become one of the biggest selling albums of the decade and hit the top spot twice, she was dubbed 'the little girl with the huge voice', racked up seven top five singles (two of them being number ones), another multi-platinum album and even managed to be kidney cancer. It just goes to show that the songstress is much stronger than she looks and despite her mild mannered persona, she is pretty much capable of doing anything and this comes across in her new single; 'Explode'.

The track was written by Michelle herself and the songwriting QUEEN Sara Hollywood ('Lock It Up', 'S.Y.P.L.M' and 'Tonight') so before you even hear the track, you know it is going to be something big. In the instrumental preview that's been floating around for about a month, we heard a very dark, erratic, sexy R&B/Urban beat which immediately threw you off as this isn't her usual style and again it goes to show that Ms Green isn't afraid to experiment with her music. If the sexy preview of the video left you opened mouthed and had the general thought; 'Is that....innocent Michelle Green wearing leather and slut dropping?' then the actual lyrics to the song will make your head literally explode...see what we did there?

Michelle's previous songs have been rather innocent, cleverly written and generally appeal to people of all ages. Even 'Break The Dawn' was nothing too controversial compared to other party type songs that were circulating the airways at the time. 'Explode' however, just blows all of Michelle's good girl image out of the water and the blond bombshell even states so in her song |I'm this year's 'good girl gone bad', bet you wasn't expecting that|. Still smart with her lyrics, Michelle basically goes on about hardcore sex for 3 minutes and 42 seconds to a killer beat and sings in a very luring, seductive tone which would get anyone a little hot under the collar. One thing that doesn't make this song 'trashy' and 'slutty' though is Michelle's vocal ability and the creativeness of the song. She switches from a light, breathy falsetto tone to an aggressive, throaty, passionate one at the drop of a hat and the odd structure of the track and the crazy beat makes it stand out from the rest of the so-called 'sexy' songs as it seems to find the perfect balance between sexual and sensual. Not as explicit as a Rihanna track and not as slow and teasing as a Kelly Rowland song, 'Explode' seems to fit right in the middle.

Another thing that we'd like to point out is the rumour that this track was written about her fiance and Weekend's good boy, Riley Hamilton. With lines referring to Riley's career like; |Gonna show you a thing or two, my sexy little Valentine|
All the girls want a touch but I'm glad I get to call you mine|
and If you get me fired up| we can go all night, it's hard not to picture the sweetest couple on earth doing the dirty.....not that we're complaining though.

Of course, people will complain; 'Michelle's changing', 'Michelle's selling out', 'She's becoming a slut', blah blah blah. The truth is that she is growing up, experimenting with her music, she's not a little girl any more and even though it is different to her past releases, she still manages to stand out from the rest. Her previous singles from her first and second album were great and made her a star but there was no general buzz like 'Oh, what is Michelle going to do next!?' because we all knew that she would deliver a great little indie-pop song for us to enjoy and that's all fine and well but to last in the industry, you need to through a curve ball every now and then and this is what Ms Green is finally doing. There hasn't been this much buzz for an album in years and she is definitely going to right way about it. Maybe she will flop, maybe her album will disappoint, maybe the third single will be a heavy metal track? Who knows!? All the anticipation is part of the fun and what keeps making an artist exciting and fresh. If Michelle continues to mix things up then her career is just going to explode and go to a completely new level.

Overall Score: 4.5/5

Pay attention baby, this is something that you've got to know
You'll be in for a ride when I lose all my control
Sit up. Listen up. Watch me whilst you get it up
I can go for hours, can never seem to get enough
I'm this year's 'good girl gone bad', bet you wasn't expecting that
Still as cute as ever but I pounce just like a pussycat
Deep breath, intake, tense up while I change the pace
Come a little closer, don't be afraid to have a taste

I got so many personalities, wanna show you this new side of me
Want you to hold me like a conversation, hold me tighter, unleash the freak
You've always got to watch the quiet ones, especially between the sheets
Boy, set me off I'm your lovebomb, I'm burning up, can you feel the heat?

I E-X-P-L-O-D-E
The harder you love me, harder you love me, harder you UH me
E-X-P-L-O-D-E
You know how to work me, know how to work me, know how to UH me
Make me E-X-P-L-O-D-E
Boy come and get me, baby come get me, oh boy come and UH me

I'm on overload, explode, baby please don't let me go
I'm hanging on the edge, never felt like this before
In a freaky state of mind, in complete and utter ecstasy
Now it's my turn to take the ropes, show off my new strategy
You've pushed all the right buttons, I'm going overboard
You're so sweet tasting, got me wanting more and more
Gonna show you a thing or two, my sexy little Valentine
All the girls want a touch but I'm glad I get to call you mine

I got so many personalities, wanna show you this new side of me
Want you to hold me like a conversation, hold me tighter, unleash the freak
You've always got to watch the quiet ones, especially between the sheets

Make me E-X-P-L-O-D-E
Boy come and get me, baby come get me, oh boy come and UH me

Don't stop. Lip lock.
Baby turn the pressure up, watch me do my thing, baby we gon' make it hot.
Want you to put it on me, want you to feel upon me
Want all eyes on us, want the whole world to see
I'll do anything you like, I've got nothing to hide
If you get me fired up, we can go all night

I got so many personalities, wanna show you this new side of me
Want you to hold me like a conversation, hold me tighter, unleash the freak
You've always got to watch the quiet ones, especially between the sheets

Title: Can't Stop Us
Artist: Michelle Green
Length: 3:32
Genre: Pop/R&B
Written By: M.Green
Produced By: Deneil
From The Album: Live To Tell

OOC: Again, sorry for the lack of description but I'm really busy with all these albums and stuff outside of TRSG so I'm only really giving single releases in depth descriptions :)

If I fall in love you should know that it's legit
I'm not one of those girls who constantly flaunt it
So why am I suddenly getting all this questioning?
'Is he the right one?', 'Is this the real thing?'

When it comes to love you should know that we won't quit
Throw what you like, we'll just duck and avoid it
Print want you like, go ahead and criticise
But we can't be stopped and soon they'll realise

They only see what the camera's show, got no idea about how we really roll
When rumours spread it's oh so pitiful, why get in the way of something beautiful?

Never thought he would be my greatest love, now I see that the signs were so obvious
When he's around I just can't get enough, nothing in this world can stop us.
Some may say it's getting dangerous, I just brush it off cos I enjoy the rush
People tell me it's becoming too serious, don't care what they say, they can't stop us

When it came to love, yes I had my doubts
Been through so much pain and was still figuring it out
Then he came along and made me feel so worthy
If I'm feeling happy, why can't others feel it for me?

They only see what the camera's show, got no idea about how we really roll
When rumours spread it's oh so pitiful, why get in the way of something beautiful?

Never thought he would be my greatest love, now I see that the signs were so obvious
When he's around I just can't get enough, nothing in this world can stop us.
Some may say it's getting dangerous, I just brush it off cos I enjoy the rush
People tell me it's becoming too serious, don't care what they say, they can't stop us

Can't Stop. Won't Stop. Ain't nobody gon' tell us
Can't Stop. Won't Stop. Ain't nobody gon' tell us

They couldn't stop us no matter how hard they try
Nothing can break the force of you and I
So many times our love's been put to the test
We always pull through, two hearts in sync know best

Never thought he would be my greatest love, now I see that the signs were so obvious
When he's around I just can't get enough, nothing in this world can stop us.
Some may say it's getting dangerous, I just brush it off cos I enjoy the rush
People tell me it's becoming too serious, don't care what they say, they can't stop us

Title: Kryptonite
Artist: Michelle Green
Length: 3:55
Genre: Dance/Pop
Written By: M.Green, A.Travis, C.Wishart
Produced By: Mason Justice
From The Album: Live To Tell

I always like to put up a good fight, playing hard to get is what I like
But it was case of love at first sight, you made me so weak - my kryptonite

I can't wait much longer cos it's killing me, killing me, inside
You make me shine but I won't let it out, let it out, oh no
Can't fall in love, that's not what I'm about, what I'm about, no way
My heart's racing, you got it pounding now, pounding now, uh oh

Left my heart cold and lonely in it's prison cell
Alongside three big words that I dare not tell
But you made me weak, all my defences fell
Oh they all fell

I always like to put up a good fight, playing hard to get is what I like
But it was case of love at first sight, you made me so weak - my kryptonite
Falling for you at the speed of light, right into your arms as we both fly
My Superman saved me tonight, made me so powerless - my kryptonite

I always like to put up a good fight, playing hard to get is what I like
But it was case of love at first sight, you made me so weak - my kryptonite
Falling for you at the speed of light, right into your arms as we both fly
My Superman saved me tonight, made me so powerless - my kryptonite

You took me down, but that's alright, that's alright, oh oh
Stars in my eyes, got me spinning now, spinning now, whoa oh
Please take my heart and hold it close, hold it close, right now
Lift us right up, make us soar tonight, soar tonight, let's go

Left my heart cold and lonely in it's prison cell
Alongside three big words that I dare not tell
But you made me weak, all my defences fell
Oh they all fell

I always like to put up a good fight, playing hard to get is what I like
But it was case of love at first sight, you made me so weak - my kryptonite

You make me shine. My kryptonite, my kryptonite

Title: Rolling Back The Years
Artist(s): Michelle Green & Deneil Khan
Length: 3:31
Genre: R&B
Written By: M.Green, D.Khan
Produced By: Michelle Green
From The Album: Live To Tell

Michelle
Deneil
Both

We'll be rolling back the years (oh, uh, oh)
Rolling back the years (oh, uh, oh)

Rose petals laying on the bed whilst the satin sheets kiss your skin
Back in the day when romance wasn't dead, a simple touch meant so much more
Nowadays all those kids out there don't know the meaning of true love
Passion died, baby bumps arise and dignity don't exist anymore

Slow dancing all through the night watch the couples all sway and spin
But that's in the past, now all the DJ's blast as one night stands begin
What's wrong with holding hands and a long walk by the sea?
Now so many just hit it, then walk away and quit it, what happened to intimacy?

Let's just take this slow, this is the start of something beautiful
We'll be rolling back the years, back to the simple ideas, when love didn't cost a thing
The lovers better clear the road, we're cruising down with Elvis on the radio
We're rolling back the years, back to the simple ideas and our love don't cost a thing

I love all the simple things like laying against your cool skin
Don't wanna be on magazines, or a reality show Queen, let's stay behind closed doors
Feet up in your old Cadillac, letting the wind blow right through my hair
Don't wanna be stuck in a jam, shouting loud as I can, nowadays everything seems like a war

Roll back to the good old days with Buddy Holly and his Peggy Sue
Where did the innocence go on the radio? Now they only sing 'bout one thing
I wanna go to an old drive in, have a lovebird's kiss in front of the screen
Don't want to sit in the back row where all the teens go, ain't it crazy how times have changed?

Let's just take this slow, this is the start of something beautiful
We'll be rolling back the years, back to the simple ideas, when love didn't cost a thing
The lovers better clear the road, we're cruising down with Elvis on the radio
We're rolling back the years, back to the simple ideas and our love don't cost a thing

Want you, want you, want you to take me back
To a time were romance really was alive
Rolling, rolling all the years back
Why can't we all live our lives like that?

Let's just take this slow, this is the start of something beautiful
We'll be rolling back the years, back to the simple ideas, when love didn't cost a thing
The lovers better clear the road, we're cruising down with Elvis on the radio
We're rolling back the years, back to the simple ideas and our love don't cost a thing

Title: Lookout
Artist(s): Michelle Green
Length: 4:22
Genre: Sophisti-pop
Written By: M.Green
Produced By: KOOKIE
From The Album: Live To Tell

OOC: Again, no description but I've lost like 3 albums and just need to get this finished and released ASAP.

You held my hand, you pulled me close
Whispered such sweet things, I didn't want to let go
In those seven little seconds the whole world didn't matter
But just as quickly, you let me go - I shattered

I used to start the fights, I hold my hands up
Teased you everyday but you never told me to stop
Living in each other's pockets was always fine with me
I never realised that you wanted to be set free

Here I go again, questioning everything I've done
What did I do to push you over the edge? Why are you cutting me out, acting like I'm dead?
No explanation, no confirmation
Used to cuddle up every single night, now you're gone - didn't even say goodbye

Just tell me what's on your mind and we can work it out
I'll always be here, I'm always on the lookout
No matter what you do to me, I won't be moved from where I stand
Just say how you really feel and say it out loud
Cos I'm still waiting here, always on the lookout
No matter what you say to me, I'll always understa-and

Always on the lookout, watching over you

Trusted each other with everything but I guess that was just me
Thought I had you all figured out but this is something I didn't see
How can I make it right when you won't say what is wrong?
Tell me what I have to do so we can soldier on

Here I go again, questioning everything I've done
What did I do to push you over the edge? Why are you cutting me out, acting like I'm dead?
No explanation, no confirmation
Used to cuddle up every single night, now you're gone - didn't even say goodbye

Just tell me what's on your mind and we can work it out
I'll always be here, I'm always on the lookout
No matter what you do to me, I won't be moved from where I stand
Just say how you really feel and say it out loud
Cos I'm still waiting here, always on the lookout
No matter what you say to me, I'll always understa-and

Just tell me what's on your mind and we can work it out
I'll always be here, I'm always on the lookout
No matter what you do to me, I won't be moved from where I stand
Just say how you really feel and say it out loud
Cos I'm still waiting here, always on the lookout
No matter what you say to me, I'll always understa-and

Always on the lookout, watching over you

Now I can't seem to figure this one out
First you pull me so close then you shut me right out
What we had was indescribable, once thought it was indestructible
So why the sudden change of heart?
You've left me hanging, left me torn apart

Always on the lookout, watching over you
Always on the lookout, watching over you
Always on the lookout, watching over you

Title: Leave The Light On
Artist: Michelle Green
Length: 3:59
Genre: Synthpop
Written By: M.Green, B.Khan
Produced By: Oracle
Label: Chaos Records
From The Album: Live To Tell

'Leave The Light On' is a song originally written and performed by Weekend member, Billy Khan which has since been reworked and recorded by English singer-songwriter, Michelle Green. It is set to be the third single released from her upcoming third studio album, 'Live To Tell', which will be released at that end of this month after numerous delays due to a busy touring and personal schedule. The single follows two of Michelle's most commercial and mainstream songs to date, 'Break The Dawn' and 'Explode', and follows the upbeat synthpop sound featured on the former. Like her previous two releases, 'Leave The Light On' sees Michelle continue her new reinvented 'bad girl' persona who enjoys partying and wild nights. However, the song holds a hidden message which only really comes to light in the middle 8 of the song. 'Leave The Light On' has been compared to a mix of her previous two singles - not as 'in your face' as 'Break The Dawn' or as 'racy' as 'Explode', finding the perfect balance which makes it one of her most radio-friendly singles to date.

The track was originally written and performed by Weekend member, Billy Khan in late 2012 and was intended to be included on his debut solo album but the plans were shelved and the track remained unreleased. The original version had a heavy R&B vibe, almost like a tropical/Caribbean sound which had been championed by the likes of Rihanna and Nicole Scherzinger. Khan's recording of the song also contained different verses and a handful of explicit words which had all been changed when he handed the track over to his close friend, Michelle Green. When working on the track, Green stated that she wants to keep the bare bones of the song but rebuild around it to create a whole different vibe and take on the track.

Michelle Green wrote:
"I remember when Riley and I were over at Billy's house helping him redecorate and move things around since Andrea was expecting at the time and they wanted to get everything ready for Daniel's arrival. I stumbled across a box filled with what I thought was blank discs but after asking Billy, I found out that they were demos of some solo stuff he was working on. After twisting his arm, he played a few for me and this one just stood out purely for it's whole carefree attitude. I loved it. I asked him if I could work on it and since he was never going to use it, he was more than happy to let me work with the track. His version was produced by his brother, it had an R&B sound to it and was all about partying and being lost in a moment. I decided to keep the original chorus and hook but rework the verses and arrangement of the song in order to create a more dreamy, ethereal vibe which I know is unusual for a 'party track'. When I started to work on 'Leave The Light On', I wanted it to sound like all this clubbing, drinking and all that jazz was an addiction. You can't escape it, it's pulling you in no matter what time of day or where you are. That's why the vocals seem very shaky and almost as if I'm running out of breath - I am trying to run away from it all but it keeps catching up. When it calms down and reaches the middle 8, the harsh reality sets in and I say 'we don't know when to stop, when we'll get hurt.....we don't know when the light will be turned out'....it really makes you think. Having a good time is fine but there are so many people out there who take things too far and at the end of the day they WILL get hurt. Another reason why I included that part is because I think the original songwriter needs to wake up and realise that his wild lifestyle is only doing him more damage. He's a friend of mine and I apologise if he's offended by the message but it just had to be said."

Michelle's version of the track was recorded at her home which has a built-in recording studio. The original R&B backing track was replaced with a more soothing, indie-pop inspired one which gives a nod to Green's older material as well as keeping in tune with her new sound. 'Leave The Light On' was produced by up and coming producer, Oracle, who has other production credits on Michelle's album and who also falls into the category of the 'fresh, new talent' that Green wanted to work with during the making of the record.

I'm ready, just hold my hand and I'll take you there
Breathe it in, this is where and when your new life begins
It's non-stop, we're gonna be living the fast life - catch your breath
Heat of the moment, pull me closer like it's between life and death

Don't worry your head about a thing
Throw your palms to the sky as we go full swing
Not a care in the world cos' that's just who we are
We came here to party, party, party
Let's get it started, started, started

We can leave the light on, it's still a good time
We can leave the light on and still feel the vibe
We leave the light on as that's just how we roll
We leave the light on so you can watch the show

I don't want to wait, I just wanna live it up whilst we get down
It's like a fantasy, the room is spinning and swinging, we only living for right now
Let's turn it up, show some love, pump the party and blaze it up
A beat is all we need, yeah you and me, we're gonna keep goin' and goin', raise a glass - keep pouring

Don't worry your head about a thing
Throw your palms to the sky as we go full swing

We can leave the light on (on, on, light it up)
We leave the light on (on, on, turn it up)

We don't know when to st-o-o-op
We don't know when we might get hurt
That's what this life is all about
We don't know when the light will be turned out

We don't know when to st-o-o-op
We don't know when we might get hurt
That's what this life is all about
We don't know when the light will be turned out

Don't worry your head about a thing
Throw your palms to the sky as we go full swing
Not a care in the world cos' that's just who we are

Was it all too much to take?
They way you fled the scene has got me thinking it was, oh yeah yeah
Did you mean to make my heart break?
After all that we've been through I don't understand, don't know why
Why'd you go and ditch all our plans?
You left me crying on the bedroom floor just like you don't give a damn

I'm tired of hearing all these petty excuses
After everything I've done I think I deserve the truth (oh, at least)
You can try to keep running for cover
I'm never giving up, gonna track and find you

Yeah, I'm searching for answers
Won't stop asking until I die

We had it all, I couldn't have been more happy(oh oh oh, oh whoa oh, oh oh oh, whoa oh)
Slipped from my fingers, I guess it wasn't meant to be (oh oh oh, oh whoa oh, oh oh oh, whoa oh)
I'll keep searching far and wide for you
I'll keep searching far and wide for you
I tried to stay strong, gave the benefit of the doubt
(oh oh oh, oh whoa oh, oh oh oh, whoa oh)
Patience has worn thin, it's time to just spit it out (oh oh oh, oh whoa oh, oh oh oh, whoa oh)
I'll keep searching far and wide for the truth
I'll keep searching far and wide for the truth

(oh oh oh, oh whoa oh, oh oh oh, whoa oh)
I'll keep searching far and wide for the truth

Is it too much to ask for?
I just wanna know why you left me behind (be-hi-i-i-i-ind)
Were you wanting something more?
All these mixed signals have left me feeling confused (what's wrong with you?)
Are you still in love with me?
If you saw me with another guy, would it make you angry?

I'm tired of hearing the sound of the voice mail
It's just like you've disappeared, went off and set sail
You can try to keep avoiding the question
One way or another I'll find out the truth

Oh, I'm searching for the answers
And I won't stop asking why

You saw me through rose coloured glasses, everything distorted your view
Didn't have a clue about who I am all the while I knew all about you
Did you ask why I was feel low? No, you were in your own world filled with rainbows
Would it have hurt to step out of your dream? Maybe then you would've viewed things like me
I was just a part of your little fantasy, nothing more than a little puzzle piece
Just there to be on your arm, feeling like nothing more than a trophy
There is your answer so just let me be

oh oh oh, oh whoa oh, oh oh oh, whoa oh
oh oh oh, oh whoa oh, oh oh oh, whoa oh

Ooooooohh, yeeeeeaaaaahhhhh

Title: Wrong Turn
Artist(s): Michelle Green, Jacob Estrada
Length: 3:49
Genre: Pop,
Written By: J.Estrada, M.Green
Produced By:
From The Album: Live To Tell

Michelle
Jacob

Stuck in the middle of some dark times
Can't even figure what's looking me in the eye
The wine helps to ease all the doubts
But the red lip stains never wash out
It's another attempt of letting things go
But the scars and the marks will always show

We both know that this will end up in a mess
We suppress all our worries, the say ignorance is bliss
Another fight and another little lie
Sooner or later we'll come to the end of the line
I see the future and it's not good for us
But it's too hard to make a change, this has always been us

We're slowly turning to dust, it's all become too much
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end
Couldn't see ahead, should've slowed instead
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end

The small light in our narrow tunnel dims
Try to find a way out as all the walls close in
We're too worn out to try to make an escape
Might as well surrender now, we know it's far too late
Struggling to keep a hold of what we have
Should've listened to the others, should've followed their path

We're slowly turning to dust, it's all become too much
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end
Couldn't see ahead, should've slowed instead
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end

We're going on without help, driving straight into hell
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end
Been left out in the dark, stranded and torn apart
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end
Wrong turn in the end
Wrong turn in the end
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end

Didn't slow down to get our directions right
We were far too busy, wrapped up in yet another fight
Didn't listen to others, didn't see the oncoming
In the blink of an eye we crashed down from the sky
Both to blame, we can't resuscitate, what we had is too long gone

We're slowly turning to dust, it's all become too much
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end
Couldn't see ahead, should've slowed instead
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end

We're on without help, driving straight into hell
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end
Been left out in the dark, stranded and torn apart
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end

Wrong turn in the end
Wrong turn in the end
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end

Wrong turn in the end
Wrong turn in the end
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end

Wrong turn in the end
Wrong turn in the end
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end

Wrong turn in the end
Wrong turn in the end
I guess we took the wrong turn in the end

Title: Live To Tell
Artist: Michelle Green
Length: 3:56
Genre: Pop
Written By: M.Green
Produced By: Oracle
From The Album: Live To Tell

I used to hate the playground, always tripped up - face down
I never had a helping hand, always picked myself off the ground
I lived to tell
'Miss' never ever understood, I played alone so misunderstood
They'd see how far they could push, never spoke though I know I should
But I lived to tell

Started to grow and have curves, hid it from all the other girls
Tried to ignore all the words that they hurled, I felt so alone in this world
I lived to tell
Everybody hung with their friends, whilst my only ones were all in my head
It's all OK if I just pretend but deep down I wanted it to end
But I lived to tell

After all I've seen in this world, after all I've endured
Nothing hurts me anymore, gonna raise my shield and sword
You can throw what you like, I'll just spread my wings and glide
Thank you for all the bruises, I've learned how to take a knock
Held down for long enough, not I'm heading for the top
Hit rock bottom, dragged through hell, you can do what you like, I'll live to tell

I put my trust in the adults around me; fifteen, signed, so young and naive
Suddenly I'm struggling to breathe, I felt cold hands all over me
I lived to tell
Afraid to say all the things that he had done, still so fragile and young
I hated what my own body had become, he'd punish me the more times I tried to run
But I lived to tell

Fell right down in the middle of the street, woke in a big white room feeling so weak
The news spilled and I started to freak, out of everyone why did it have to be me?
I lived to tell
They said I was lucky to survive but at the time, I couldn't care 'bout my life
I cried myself to sleep at night, I was so battered, worn, what was the point in being alive?
But I lived to tell

After all I've seen in this world, after all I've endured
Nothing hurts me anymore, gonna raise my shield and sword
You can throw what you like, I'll just spread my wings and glide
Thank you for all the bruises, I've learned how to take a knock
Held down for long enough, not I'm heading for the top
Hit rock bottom, dragged through hell, you can do what you like, I'll live to tell

I was 'too young' to go into town by myself
But somehow they thought I would cope living in hell
Pretty blonde girl who was forced to grow up
In the blink of an eye, my childhood was over
Pose for the cameras, pose for me on the bed
The public didn't know what went on in my head
Young little sweetheart who never caused a fuss
I was so silent 'cause the thoughts had me disturbed
I felt so degraded, I felt so much hatred
Drunk away all my cares, washed away all the memories
I then found a new lover, a prince like no other
Bump continues on growing, I just keep on glowing
Flipped life around, all is well
Oh, what a story to tell

After all I've seen in this world, after all I've endured
Nothing hurts me anymore, gonna raise my shield and sword
You can throw what you like, I'll just spread my wings and glide
Thank you for all the bruises, I've learned how to take a knock
Held down for long enough, not I'm heading for the top
Hit rock bottom, dragged through hell, you can do what you like, I'll live to tell

After all I've seen in this world, after all I've endured
