I really don't like female singers in metal bands, because almost all of them do that kind of Lacuna Coil or Nightwish style of singing, and it blows in my opinion.
Sad fact is that women in metal bands are rare, and all women bands are even rarer. The only one I can think of that's any good is Gallhammer, a crusty black metal band from Japan, all females. |

This thread reminded me I need to listen to more Riot Grrrl bands. I listen to few female vocalists, I like more men on vocals. But my favorites are Bikini Kill, F-Minus and Dominatrix. EDIT: Oh, and Crustina Aguilera too. Edited by user 08 August 2009 11:18:21(UTC)

Well, I thought long and hard about this...the only all girl band that I have a remote interest in is a Japanese three peice metal outfit called Gallhammer. My interests lie in the heavy stuff as you have probably worked out and on this side of things, quality (or even any) all girl bands are very few and far between...almost to the point of non existance. At one stage there was Kitty back in their earlier days but I think they are ordinary. As for female fronted metal bands, well...Arch Enemy, Lacuna Coil, Nightwish...nope, *snooze*. |
