Vanessa hears somebody shout out "hey!" and doesn't assume that they are speaking to her until she hears footsteps approaching. 'Great,' she thinks, assuming that its somebody she had sex with or somebody that she went to school with. She puts on a fake smile and turns around to be face-to-face with Boring Jake. She immediately drops the fake smile and smirks. "Hey... you..." She says, forgetting his name for a moment.

"Jake!" The barista calls out with Jake's order and Vanessa perks up.

"Jake! Hello, Jake. How are you, Jake?"

Vanessa puts her hands on her hips and watches Jake walk away. He had an adverse effect on her than other men usually did - Jake seemed cuter now that she is sober than he did when she was drunk. Of course, he was attractive either way. "Yeah, Vanessa. Glad you remembered me." She laughs and shakes her head, taking a sip of her coffee.

Vanessa raises an eyebrow. "Is Starbucks my natural habitat...?" She asks, laughing and shaking her head. "Uh, is that like 'Do you come here often?' Because if so, that might be the worst pick up line I've ever heard."

Vanessa was kidding when she called what Jake said a pickup line, but is a little offended when he acts like it wasn't. Of course, not offended enough to walk away. Not yet, at least. "Do I what? Consider this my natural habitat? No. This is a Starbucks. I consider my apartment my natural habitat. I consider the bar down the street from my apartment my natural habitat. Starbucks? No. This is the 15-year-old private school girl's natural habitat. Not mine."

"So you were trying to ask me if I come here often - the pick up line! Ha!" Vanessa says, feeling that rush of adrenaline when you catch somebody in a lie. She giggles a little bit and then shakes her head. "I try to stay away from caffine as much as possible. Caffine and alcohol make me sick." She laughs a little bit more and then motions to the table in the back corner. "Yeah, there's a chair open. Come talk to me. I have the rest of the afternoon free."

Vanessa turns around to sit down in her chair just at the right time to catch Jake looking at her back end. She doesn't say anything about it, but does grin a little bit. She loved catching guys checking her out. She sits down and motions for him to sit across from her. "So what about you? What are you doing here? Need some coffee so you can work up the energy to play a dead body?"

Vanessa nods and laughs a little bit. "That's one of the small pleasures of being part of an unknown band - I never have plans, but I still technically have a job. It's kind of a beautiful concept." She winks and takes a sip of her coffee as well.

Vanessa's eyes narrow and the grin on her face grows a little. "Well, I suppose that depends. Is this going to be a date, and just us hanging out? Because if it's just us hanging out, I want to stay in Starbucks all day. But if you're taking me out, we're going to go to that expensive restaurant across the street. I've always wanted to know what a twenty-two dollar steak tastes like."

Vanessa crosses her arms and leans back in the chair. Jake was proving to be attractive and rich, always a good mixture when it came to dating. She takes a couple more sips of her coffee and then throws it away even though there was still a little more than half of a drink in it. She had a feeling like she was going to keep Jake around for a while, so money suddenly didn't seem like a problem. She nods to Jake and then heads out the door and starts across the street. "I'm going to want dessert, too... just to let you know." She giggles.

Vanessa grins at Jake looking both ways before crossing the street. The percausion was too adorable to her. She takes his hand as they continue to cross the street, both because she wanted to and so she could taunt him. "Want to hold my hand while we cross the street, too? Buddy system and all that?" She giggles as they walk into the restaurant. Vanessa is immediately disappointed by the lack of orchestras playing - as that was the way she always pictured fancy restaurants to be. She looks down at what she's wearing. A baggy tank top and toga pants. Definitely not something you wear to a fancy restaurant. That made her went to eat here all the more. The waiter gives her a dirty look before taking her and Jake to their table. "What, no free bread?" She asks the waiter as they sit down. The waiter scoffs as if it were unheard of and walks away to get them glasses of water.
