Just wanted to get your opinions on them, I'm quite suprised nones posted about them yet actually. Anyway, yeah. I saw Nimrod's liked them during their 'Bleach' years, which I can understand, but their still a brilliant band in their other albums. Their one of my favorite band's ever and You Know Your Right is just a fantastic song.

Why hasn't this blandness been forgotten yet? Oh, I know why. Kurt Cobain shot himself, which suddenly makes "Nevermind" the best album in the world and the singer a legend in music. To me they just sound like boredom put into music and suspended underwater. OVERRATED. Edited by user 06 August 2009 22:33:56(UTC)

Bleach was a really good album, and In Utero was pretty good. But Nevermind get's a bit boring after a while. I do think Kurt Cobain was a genious and brilliant singer. |

Nirvana to me was hugely overrated. A reasonable band, far from awful but not deserving of this iconic status attributed to them just because some guy decided to blow his brains out. Explain to me how Kobain was a genius?

Nevermind is a really good pop-rock album with some insanely catchy hooks. Weak modern shit like Panic At The Disco or The Killers will have nowhere near the influence Nirvana have had in 20 years time.
And dismissing them right down to some dude killing himself if fucking retarded. Really. Over-rated, aye, definitely. But not bad. Good at what they did, which is write very catchy pop-rock which somehow manages to sound like it still has some testes, unlike the sea of turds we swim in with current pop-rock. |

I personally was referring to the fact that some people I've come across have put their music upon a pedestal after Kobain died. I don't think they were overrated just because Kobain killed himself , I find their music bland and Kobain much the same. Sorry, I am shit at putting my point across the way I want it. |

Their song "Come As You Are", is okay, You put up a horrible song represent Nirvana though. "You Know You're Right" sucks balls. All it is is Cobain singing "Pain", and "You Know Your Right" like a thousand times. |

I'm not a big fan i like a couple of songs but i do think they are over-rated but the album i like best by them is the unplugged live in new york, i think it's brilliant especially Where did you sleep last night and the man who sold the world, but other than the unplugged album i think they are a bit too over-rated and i do think that kurt cobain's death had a big factor in this but i also think that kurt cobain was a pretty brilliant musician. |

I despise Nirvana. They think/thought they started the whole revolution of Alt. rock, but they didn't. God... |

I'd give you him as a great songwriter. Not so sure about musician to be honest.
Oh and don't confuse me with a Nirvana fanboy, I'm really and truely not. But I have developed an appreciation recently after hating them for years. |

I find them a little enjoyable. I like Smells Like Teen Spirit and Heart Shapped Box. But don't like them enough to download/buy albums. |
I own:

incesticide is the best album, tbh. used to be a huge fan.
damn, even my first band here on trsg were named after nirvana's last studio album. them years sure do fall by like the rain.
the cobain solo records would've been great.
also, where did nirvana/cobain ever state that they "started the revolution of alternative rock"? from what i've gathered, they attempted to distance themselves from that particular niche. men jag kan ha fel... tänk om jag har feeee-eeee-eeeel... |

I love Nirvana, they are my favorite band. I love the Unplugged album most, especially The Man Who Sold The World.

I love Nevermind, and still, after it has been released i think its one of the best albums ever made. In Utero was very dissapointing tho. But Foo Fighters is a lot better band. |

i'm not really into grunge; it's one of the most repetitive genres to me. like in metal, all bands seem to be the same for me, with the exception of nirvana, pearl jam and soundgarden (thought i don't like soundgarden a lot). |
