erich assumes ada is swearing at him or something. her cries making her words difficult to hear."ill handle this myself. a little understanding is all i wanted. i am tired of fussing with you. i will bite my tongue and accept things. i cannot do ....this,anymore." he says gesturing to them both. if there is ever a time he wants a drink,it's now.

Ada shakes her head again, quickly trying to wipe her tears away - as if it weren't already obvious she were cry - and takes a deep breath in, her cries becoming less of body-shaking-sobs and more just silent tears and the occassional sniff. "I just want to help, and I do not know what it is I can do..." She tells him quietly.

as always,it breaks his heart to hear ada cry. she looks small and alone on the other side of the small room. "i am sorry, but i dont think you can help. its like me trying sympathize with you having a period. the concept is there, but the experience? it isnt able to be had. ada.....i am scared to slow down,i am scared to lose..me. it isnt about wanting freedom. i have a pretty good idea what being a parent is going to entail...playing with my child while on acid,i dont think it has a place. i know that.i dont want to be boring and old."he says, shaking his head.

Ada sighs and nods. They were no longer any point in arguing with her husband about the difference between slowing down and giving up. He wasn't going to listen to her anymore anyway. She sniffs a little, realizing that that is probably one of the reasons why he enjoyed being around Rum and Liyah so much - they weren't boring in his mind. "Do you think I am boring...?" She asks softly.

erich stops his pity pooh party when ada asks him the question. "what? not at all.i could sit and talk with you for days on end. if i could hold my pee, make that weeks on end." erich says, looking rather confused. he finally decides that ada is using herself as an example as to how one doesnt have to act like a monkey to not be boring.

Ada wipes the rest of her tears away and goes back to sitting next to Erich, sighing. "But I am not like you. I do not do all these drugs and drink all the time like you do... and I am not boring. I am not giving up..." She sighs. She had promised herself that she wasn't going to go back into this argument again, and here she is. "I am sorry. I am sorry I put you into this position," she says sincerely.

erich instantly puts his arm around ada when she sits near again. "damned if you dont have a point, ada. why i cant i see things as you do? you should be the older one in this relationship, for real." he smiles weakly at her. getting schooled by someone near 10 years ones junior is a sobering experience. knowing ada wasnt giving up helped a lot. erich touches adas chin and looks to her. "i needed to be put in this position, ada. you...you did help." he says, rather surprised. "of course.....any position with you is one i need to be in." he smirks. his ability to be serious has been taxed and it had to come out.

Ada giggles a little bit and leans her head on Erich's shoulder. "No more arguing, yes?" She asks quietly, wrapping her arms around him. She hated arguing, but she hated the feeling of not being heard or like something is wrong even more.

"Agreed. It seems like something we do far too often anymore." He says, putting his head on top of hers. " if i would just listen to you, things would go so much easier....we need to turn our argumentative streak outwards. Teach the rest of the industry we arent to be toyed with." He kisses the top of her head.

Last Night On Tour - By Zac Hale

UserPostedImage
That magnetic guitar I ordered really paid off.

Hey....so it's like, late as hell here in the good old land of Australia. We're sat in this airport waiting for our flights back to the US. Lack of a label means we had to book our own flights and Gio "Roadtrip" Silva booked them instead. As a result, rather than flying into LAX (as planned), we are flying back to Chicago tonight and spending the rest of the week driving home in a hired truck with all of our stuff. Apparently it will be fun. I'm just tired, and I can hear my own bed calling out to my exhausted ass. It's been two months, and I miss it like mad. Anyway, that's enough of my whining. Our flight is in 34 minutes, and we'll be headed home. Now, more about the tour!

I just want to say thank you to everyone who came out to see us on this tour. We never expected the reaction that anyone on this tour would get. I'm a bit surprised that the vast majority were leaving every night BEFORE Miss Way, but it means the world to us that you guys came out early each night and hung out with us. We are grateful for everything you do for us, and to have been so very far away from home and still receiving a welcome like that every single night was off the freaking scale. We sold a bunch of shirts, which meant we were able to eat out here and buy gas to get to the next show, and we got to meet a lot of you all. I promise you I cherish every hug, every high five, and even every little sneaky butt squeeze that you girls snuck in there (you know who you are.) Most of all though, I loved getting to play to you all. I write lyrics for fun, and I never imagined in my life that the things that had a meaning for me would also have meaning to you guys. To see people with lyrics written on their chests and arms and faces, to hear you guys singing back at me......man it blew my fucking mind every night. So thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

I also want to add that last night's show in Melbourne was particularly insane. It was the only venue on the whole tour where there was no barrier keeping you guys back. It felt rally retro and awesome. I got the chance to see so many of you, and to have you come up on stage to high five us. It was real fun, and you guys were, without a shadow of a doubt the loudest and most crazy crowd we played to on the whole tour. At one point, I looked over to Gio and just shrugged because I could not hear anything through my ear piece when we were playing The Broken Chapter, you were too damn loud! I'm just kidding, of course.

Anyway, this tour has been a crazy experience for us. We got the chance to hang with some amazing people, to meet some of the best fans a band could ever want, and to see new countries we had no clue about. It was majorly fun, and I hope we can do it all again soon, guys. Escape Artists Never Die WILL be back down under some day in the future to see you all, and we will never forget this tour. Thanks to Miss Way and The Harlots for bringing us down here, and thanks to Ada and Mannequin Religion for being the coolest motherfuckers we have ever met. Below are some of the tour highlights from this run of shows. Some of my favourite pictures. Anyway, must dash, the plane is boarding. It's been a blast, NZ and Oz. Until next time, keep it real.

- Zac

another tour comes to a close. We made new friends, miss way and escape aritsts never die! And saw old friends, mannequin religion! Oh.....and there was an ada in there too. she doesnt really count. she is practically my sister in law. Also all the great people of New Zealand. It was our first time in the country and we felt soooo welcome. We will have to add you guys on our tour itinerary. If it is of any consultation,we don't even tour my home country of Japan. So you kiwis aren't being singled out for being ignored. See you all soon!
