Part I|FREEDOM Truck Arrives in New York!|Avenue of the Americas(Serenity stepping out of her promotional truck)It was only a week ago when Serenity Scott debuted her gold promotional 'FREEDOM' truck when the truck was spotted in Los Angeles, CA. The gold promotional truck was spotted out driving through major cities in the West Coast, Midwest, and the East Coast as well! Today, on September 28th, 2013, the gold truck finally arrived in New York City. Just a few days ago, through the use of social networking site 'Twitter', Serenity announced to her fans that she'll be on Avenue of the America's on this date (September 28th) and tweeted "meet me there".
With much anticipation of seeing the singer, fans lined up on the street on Avenue of the America's in hopes of seeing Serenity Scott. Several NYPD officers and security guards stood in front of the barricades that Serenity's fans were behind. At 10:10 a.m., a horn by a truck was horn and the FREEDOM truck was seen turning on the Avenue of the America's street and the many Serenity Scott fans who dubbed themselves as 'Scotties', started cheering in much anticipation and excitement. As the truck came to a sudden stop on the side on one of New York's famous avenues, the truck driver stepped out of the truck and waved to the fans before unlocking and opening the back doors of the truck. When opened, smoke was dispersed inside and Serenity Scott was seen. She waved at her fans who started cheering and yelling her name and eventually stepped out and walked on over to where her fans were to sign autographs, take pictures, and communicate with her fans that lined the street.
Part II|15-minute interview on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show|9:34 a.m.
After 15 minutes of fan connection and signing autographs and what not, Serenity waved goodbye to her fans and proceeded into the building where the z100 studio was located. She was escorted into the building by her two personal bodyguards and made her way up to one of the floors into z100 studio headquarters for her first radio promo interview on the Elvis Duran Good Morning Show for her new single 'Freedom'. Serenity walked into the studio and was greeted with an applause by the people in the studio.
Elvis: Here she is! Serenity!
Serenity: Elvis! I'm finally here. I was late because I was stuck in your elevator! *she laughed*
Elvis: I know, I know, I take full responsibility! *he puts his hands up and smiled*. So before anything, I really want to know how this new record 'Freedom' will sound and so does the rest of the music world.
Serenity: This new record Freedom is basically the 25-year old version of me. I had a really great time writing it and I'm extremely proud of myself and I see this record as a progression from my last record. This record is honestly a lot more stripped down than my last one and it contains all the essential oils of me that's represented on this record.
Elvis: Well, we all got a taste of what Freedom will sound like with your new single 'Freedom' and as you described the whole album just now, the single does show a a tremendous amount of growth from your previous material from your last album. From the production to the lyrics, it was all just fantastic and well put together. What was the inspiration behind this song and is it in any way similar to any other songs off of Freedom?
Serenity: This song was written about self-empowerment and about finding your inner-strength. I find it so funny when people ask me questions about the inspiration behind the song because the song is just about being... free. There's no other way to put it. And to answer your question about whether or not this song is similar to the rest of the songs off of this new record; it is similar in a way. This whole album is basically letting the light in if you get what I mean. At first, the album was intentionally going into an entirely different direction - a much darker one with a much darker tone. But then I let the light in on this record. I'm not saying that every song off of the album sounds the same however, because it doesn't.
Elvis: Well that's really interesting to hear. I have another question for you that everyone has been requesting me to ask you and it's about your dating life. I sort of feel like you're prepared for this next question.
Serenity: Oh God *Serenity chuckled*.
Elvis: Just recently, you've started to make headlines in almost every major tabloid due to the fact that you were seen with Ryan Ross Hernandez the other night out in Beverly Hills. Rumors about the two of you dating began to emerge all over the internet and what not. Do rumors like this ever annoy you? Do you also get annoyed when you go into interviews and get asked about your love life as well?
Serenity: Not really. Some of the rumors about who I'm dating are sometimes humorous but most of the time I just shrug it off and just go on about my business. When it comes to being asked about my love life when I do an interview, I think that in some ways I've always been an open book, so people expect me to continue to be an open book and would end up asking me a question or two in regards to who I'm dating. But I think that I give my best answers through the music. That's where the fans get all the clues if they want to be a little like Nancy Drews and Sherlock Holmes they just go straight to the song because that's exactly where all the trues and false's are.
Elvis: Have you learned in the past year or so that having it out there in public can make it more difficult to have a successful relationship?
Serenity: Well, I'm not going to just stay in my room and order room service, so I'm just going to live my life as though I would if I was anyone else.
Elvis: That's good to hear as well. Thank you so much for stopping by on the Morning Show and I really hope that you'd stop by again.
Serenity: Thank you so much for having me! It was a pleasure to be here. Now I better get going before I miss my ride.
Part III|92.3 NOW Interview|11:15 a.m.
After Serenity's short interview on the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show that lasted nothing more than 15 minutes, Serenity made her way out of the building and went back to her fans that were waiting outside for her. Once again, she signed autographs and took pictures before being escorted by her bodyguard into a black SUV and was taken off to 92.3 NOW's headquarters for another interview that was scheduled for Serenity.
When the SUV that Serenity was in arrived at the location where Serenity was to be interviewed once again, a security guard opened the door for her and she got out of the vehicle - only to be greeted by desperate fans again. She smiled and waved at them before proceeding to sign a few autographs and take a few pictures as well. After only about a minute, she made her way into the building with her manager and her bodyguards in slight rush to ensure that she won't even be a minute late to the interview. She made it just in time for the interview and greeted everyone in the studio once again. Just a few moments later, the cameras were set on both Serenity and the interviewer Ty Bentli and from there, the interview began.
Ty: Hey, it's Ty Bentlie from 92.3 NOW from New York and I'm here with the one and only Serenity Scott who's from somewhere on the earth.
Serenity: California! *She chuckled*
Ty: Well, Santa Barbara I guess. I know all about you Serenity Scott! Don't worry. *He laughed*
Serenity: Do you really? Well, I guess that makes us even then. *She winked at him playfully and chuckled*.
Ty: Nice! It's a great feeling knowing that Serenity Scott knows about me. Anyways, how are you loving New York? It's a bit different California isn't it?
Serenity: I love New York! I love being here and it feels great to be back here. I haven't been here in a while so it really feels great to be back. I love it here most when it's winter time because I get to wear my winter coats and stuff. Back in Cali, it's summertime 375 days of the year.
Ty: New York loves you back Serenity. So, before I say anything else, I have to say that I love your new single 'Freedom'. It's really different from anything that's out in my opinion and when I first heard it, I was like 'wow, the lyrics in this song are just great and so is the production'.
Serenity: Thank you so much. I'm really appreciative of all the positive feedback I've been getting for this single and I appreciate your compliment as well. *She smiled*
Ty: I was watching your interview on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno 2 weeks ago and you stated that the song was written after a post-depressing period of time in your life. Is that what the rest of the album will be about?
Serenity: That's not what the rest of the album will be like, but the song does share the same ideas built around it with some of the other songs on the album. I feel like each song on this new record stands out in it's own way but the whole thing does go in one direction however.
Ty: The album is going to be released in November, along with albums coming from other artists such as Barbarian, Radio Vine, and Aubrey Mikkel. The media have been comparing the four of you a lot and have been dubbing a competition among the four of you as well. What is your attitude toward this?
Serenity: First off, I don't think the media is the reason behind all of this - but I won't get into that particular topic right now. I think that it's just great for both pop and R&B music that all of these releases are coming out in November. I have no hard feelings for any one of the artists that you just mentioned. I tend to try to focus myself on positive things rather than the all the negativity and so I don't focus on petty things such as competition.
Ty: You're actually good friends with both Barbarian and Radio, correct?
Serenity: Yes, I am actually. Barb is really an amazing and an incredible person. Radio is also my friend as well. She's a really nice person as well and I love being around her.
Ty: I have one last question, are the rumors about you and Ryan Ross Hernandez true or not true?
Serenity: I think that's something that's very private and I think that I've been way too open about my friendships and my love life in the past.
Ty: Thank you so much Serenity for being here! It was such a pleasure having you.
Serenity: Thank you all for having me. It's been a pleasure being here as well. *She smiled*
