The charts have been taken over by someone. It's a secret however. :)

I appreciate all the hard work anyone puts in on the charts, I personally however will no longer participate in voting on any of the charts no longer. There's no butt hurr feeling i just dont care about the charts nor do i feel like i need them to properly Rp.

I agree that people often hold the charts in too much esteem. The charts are, however, an incredibly useful part of RP. It creates a standard for how we determine album sales which is a crucial part of our RP world if we want it to be realistic. Now if I want to say my artist is a multi-platinum selling, huge, artist I have to actually create an album RP that is good enough for people to recognize and enjoy it and vote for it in the charts. I can't just go around saying how great they are even though my RPs are horrible. Additionally it allows for me to compare and see how my artist's sales and chart success has varied and how they have become more popular and broken thru to a number one album after several albums that just skimmed the top five.

I understand tactical voting is a problem, but it is honestly only a huge problem as long as we want the best RPs to always win. Tactically voting on a large scale (Giving everything the lowest amount of sales except for your artists albums which get the highest amount) is unnaceptable and an example of someone thinking the charts are the most important thing here (which they aren't) but when those votes are submitted they should just be deleted. The bottom line, however, is that the charts are a great asset to RP here. Of course we've survived without them but we have them now and I believe most of us want them.

I'm quite glad that they'll be sticking around if what Walton said is correct.
