well, yes, i talk with my parents like they are my friends. i don't give a fuck if your mother died or your father left you alone, but don't go telling other people how they have to be with their parents.
and there's no fun in this debate because it has to be serious. if you're taking things with fun, you're pretty wrong.

Wow I wonder how that must be.... I'm not telling you personally I'm saying in general, we are D-E-B-A-T-I-N-G, the reason I used my personal experiences was to prove my point that's all. **Face palms** WTF, I meant fun as in debating not the actual subject. Your so misunderstanding what I'm saying and now I'm afraid to continue debating this with you because you are now taking this personally.

how can't i take this personally when you call me a liar or say i'm talking crap? be mature. show that you're really your age. i haven't been disrespectful to you until you called me a liar. until then, i was fairly arguing.
and i'm still waiting for an apologise.

I am not going to continue this debate if your going to take this personally. I didn't call you a liar in my last post. and I do not owe you shit.

I've mentioned before that I'm a freqwuent smoker of cannabis.I Agree with most of you I think all drugs should be legal because if someone chooses to kill themselves with narcotics it should be their choice.I actually did an essay on the legalization of cannabis for school too.Plus in California medicinal marijuana is now being taxed so if they can tax and sell that, they can sell and tax weed that isn't but should be made legal right?

I believe this was my last post when I said this

"I told my sister to never do drugs many times.
And I don't tell a teen how to deal with drugs because drugs and people don't make sense unless the legal drug is to help you when you are sick."

No where in here says that you were lying.

My "life story" is true and I don't give a shit what nobody thinks.

You obviously have taken this too seriously and I will not continue with this debate. You have obviously taken this personally because your asking me to apologize to you meaning your feelings have been hurt.
Fuck you and not even Satan should apologize to your ignorant ass.

Peace, God Bless America!

What the hell does it matter? I have a reasonably good relationship with my parents, but it's not like friendship exactly. For one thing, I actually don't swear in front of my parents. I do tend to act slightly differently around them. But then again, I suppose I act differently around different friends too. Anyway.

well, then i have a better relationship with my parents than most people in this forum do. and i would like to be like that with my children.
i mean, of course i don't treat my parents exactly like my friends, because they're 60 years old and, well, they're my parents. but you may get the point if you don't get to literal.

My parents are pretty liberal regarding most things like alcohol, sex, dates, etc and I don't go out getting drunk and having orgies, in fact I've never gotten drunk in my life and the time when I drank the most I was on a party with my mother.
I have friends whose parents are conservatives that try to limit what they do to the maximum. The result is that they get drunk almost every weekend, my friend even told me he got drunk once to "defy" his parents.
I strongly believe you need to talk with your child, not phohibit him/her to do anything, they'll end up doing it anyway.

Communication is what's needed. It's not good enough to say to your child 'No...you cant, because I said so'. There neeeds to be an explanation as to your veiw point so the child has an understanding of the situation. Still, even the best efforts by good parents who do the right thing are waylaid by outside influences. Curiosity and teens in this case with drugs go hand in hand. Just having open dialogue with your child without been over the top about it can do wonders.

Exactly, a lot of adult's just say you cant do this and that and then leave it. Obviously they are going to do it. My dad one time just sat me down, told me he'd grown weed in his bedroom when he was a kid and just said what he thought of it. And I really appreciated it. I have since them smoked weed, but thats a different story ;)

Still, cannabis can slow down the development of the brain, so I dont think it should be legal until your 18. But my views on smoking weed and ciggerettes applies. You should be able to smoke them in your garden or in defined public places, but not in your house because then it begins to affect the other occupants in the house.

Yes, the liberallisation of drugs should be age restricted. Or at least the purchase of drugs should be age restricted. 18 for softer drugs, 21 for harder stuff like cocaine, PCP or heroin.

But no, what someone does in their own home should not be restricted by the law in any way, shape, or form. The home is the place for drug use, for a start it's a controlled enviroment.

But what about young children? Why should they be forced to inhale the second hand smoke. By the way I dont agree with cocaine or heroin being legalized at all.

What you do to your body is your choice. In much the same way, what you do around your children is your choice.

Legislating what can and cannot go on in your own property is beyond farcical. Yes, common sense dictates that you shouldn't get high around your kids, but common sense also dictates not smoking around your kids. Well guess what, that's not a crime. And nor should it be, realistically.

Yes communication is needed with a child, build a relationship. But like I said before. You must be a parent not a friend.
You can have a close relationship by spending time with your kid, going into his games and dong activities together.

Drugs and alcohol are the last thing you should approve when it comes to parenting.
Ask A Doctor, Ask the Police, Ask a Psychologist and see what they will tell you.

Depend's on how old you are, if your 30 I dont suppose many parents would still expect you to treat them like superiors. Even at my age my parent's are very relaxed on things like that.

Um excuse me but no matter what, once you have a kid you are their parent from the day the kid was born til the day you die. Now of coarse once your kid is an adult he will make his own decision but you should always be he's base. Unless, you give your kid to adoption.
You must always have this certain type of respect to your parents. When I was your age I use to think the same way "Oh when I grow Older.... blah blah blah"
And now til this day (well this part is art of my culture) I disrespect my mom and a slap in the face it goes.

Whether you believe in the bible or not this is a good verse
Like it says in the bible
"Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."
