Album : Epiphany
Track : But It Felt Good
Artist :
( Rum & ) Coke
Genre : PBR&B
Label : Tric-Jam Records
Written by : Airemese Smith
Produced by : NinaT and inZane
Length : 2:12

' But It Felt Good ' continues the Alice In Wonderland theme that Coke seemed to be using in the last song , ' Failed Escape ' , along with Wizard of Oz references . She uses the two as examples of reveries and uses the songs to be perceived as an a epiphany to the person that is in their ' pleasant daydream ' .

The song takes the scruffy beat in the background of ' Failed Escape ' and turns it into a beat of what you would picture if you were coming off of a spaceship as Coke starts to vocalize in the beginning of the song . Funny how NinaT and inZane created that ; a possible reference to returning to reality . The atmospheric beat fades in and out as Coke begins to sing the first verse , her voice containing a drunk ring to it as she seems to sing the lyrics happily . Random giggles fade in and out every once in a while to add an effect to the drunk sounding song . By the 5th line , a beat rolls in and by the pre-hook the whole music depends on the beat that is barely noticeable in the first verse if it wasn't for the way Aire sang the song to make it go along with the beat .

As Coke sings the pre-hook it almost sounds like there is more than one person singing , as you hear Coke's voice in different pitches and they harmonize and layer . Coke then goes onto the hook singing in a voice that almost sounds like it sails away as it gets softer as the line ends . After the 4th line , the beat stops and so does Coke's singing and her voice immediately comes back in repeating the first part of | cause | 3 times then another pause and Coke finishes the whole sentence in a relieved voice , going on to finish the rest of the song in the same voice and the background fading in and out and keeping things serene until the song ends .

The beat and vocals in ' But It felt Good ' are quite artistic . They add dramatic effects to the theme of a drunk girl fading in and out of her reverie . From the giggling to the atmospheric beat , Nina Tarantino , Airemese Smith and Zane Anoshkin have really seemed to be on point with making sure that everything about the song came together and not holding back because of the fact that it's a shorter song , but aiming to make the crowd feel like it needs to be longer .

[Verse 1]
I'm lost in my own world ... right now
Why is everything around me dancing around ?
Couldn't face reality ... not right now
Headed for the poison , my sorrows will drown
Slowly , I started rising ... off the ground
Funny , how I could see myself laying down
Giggled a little as I looked around
Followed the white rabbit , where am I now ?

[Pre-Hook]
I haven't really thought like this in a while
But I feel like depending on this drink right now
I'll just take this bottle and stretch it ...
For a mile .

[Hook]
But in case we died ...
At least I'm satisfied
Yea I may be a fiend... a fiend
The consequences slipped my mind
C-c-c-cause it felt good .
Cause it felt good ... aah ...
Cause it felt good
Cause it ... but it ...
But it felt good .

Album : Epiphany
Track : But It Felt Good
Artist :
( Rum & ) Coke ft. Mi•Mi
Genre : PBR&B
Label : Tric-Jam Records
Written by : Nina Tarantino
Produced by : NinaT
Length : 2:32

' In The Moment ' concludes the group of reverie themed songs . Though this song doesn't have any Alice In Wonderland or Wizard of Oz references , it includes quotes that have lately been getting really popular in the urban part of the industry . You kind of wonder why quotes like YOLO would have anything to do with a reverie themed song . Especially since this song seems to be about someone losing themselves because they can't handle the Hollywood life , but chooses to stay , just like the meaning behind ' Failed Escape ' , only not in such a dark tone as that one . New K-POP duo , Mi•Mi joins Coke in on the song about forcing herself into a reverie , trying to forget all of the downs that comes with the ups in Hollywood .

The 3 have worked together previous times before , ( Airemese helping them write both of their singles and even directed their video for ' Not Waiting Any Longer ' ) but has never actually jumped on a track together , until now . Despite being from 2 different corners of the Earth , the 3 surprisingly have very similar voices and they fit perfectly together . The song has a steady beat to it and adds a Contemporary R&B feel to it , a little different from what Mi•Mi have been known for so far , but it works for them .

' In The Moment ' starts with Misu and Miki harmonizing as they intro the song . They set a calm feeling to the song and even helps settle the rhythm . In the background you hear a series of voices in the background . This makes sense when you realize that Misu and Miki are playing Coke's conscious and all their parts and the background they take is explained . After the intro , Coke comes in and a drum helps ' announce ' her into the song . Her voice comes in strong and it is once again a voice not many have heard Coke sing in . It's strong , yet in a way sounds like it could crack or break at any moment . She sings the first few lines and then Mi•Mi comes in almost out of nowhere and sings in what could be mistaken as Coke herself singing lower . Right after that they proceed to singing background , from singing with Coke to echoing . This continues throughout the first verse .

As the first verse comes to an end the same drums that introduced Coke into the song , signatures the end of the first verse as Coke then goes on to the second . Her voice stays the same way as the music of the song changes up a bit . Coke starts the pre-hook and as soon as she finishes up the first line , Misu softly sings , | Stupid girl | as if Coke's conscious responded to the line before which said | Well I hate to disappoint , but I'm not that stupid | . Coke continues to the seconds line , getting a little defensive for no reason , | I'm a grown ass woman and I know just what I'm doing ... | And Miki comes in as a second voice of her conscious and firmly sings | Stupid girl . | , repeating what Misu did , but making all the difference from their tones and the impression it gives off . Coke then goes on to the third line as she uses popular quotes as an excuse of her actions , but then right after questions it and her ' conscious ' ( Mi•Mi ) asks it with her , showing how all of this talk is actually starting to take a toll on what she believes is right and wrong . Then Coke finishes the pre-hook with Mi•Mi continuing to come in .

The drums come back in and once again the section of the song ends . This time the hook starts and Coke sings the first four lines . They give you a clear insight on what exactly this song is about . The song is basically Nina Tarantino's version of ' Failed Escape ' except that in this song , the girl seems to be more focused on the ' consequences ' and not the actual fact that she's trapping herself in a life that she noticed isn't what it seems . Right after Coke is done with those 4 lines , She begins to say half of " the consequences " and lets Misu and Miki finish it off for her . This goes on for 2 times and on the third all 3 of them finish it the two words together and coke sings the rest of the sentence by herself . Miki then vocalizes the word | yea | right before Coke says the last line that leads into a different part of the hook . Now Misu and Miki sings the same part together with each other as Miki once again vocalizes the word " yea " at the end . Then Coke comes back in and repeats the last line and this goes on until the hook ends . That's when it repeats and fades out as Misu begins to sing over everything and takes the lead for the outro of the song , using her strong voice to blow the few lines . As she winds to the end of her solo part , the music by then has faded all out and Miki in a firm voice sings the last line to end it all off . | But I'm just living in the moment . |

[Intro]
Oh ... Oh ...
Oh ... Oh ...
Oh ... Oh ...
Oh ... Oh ...

[Verse 1]
Me and my conscious
We've been tight since the beginning
But lately it's been ruining my chances

So I ...
Have found a way to keep from doing anything stupid
People worry but it ain't nothing but a shot
That later turns into 10
Acting like i'm the only one who does it
And that I don't know the consequences

[Pre-hook]
Well I hate to disappoint , but I'm not that stupid
Stupid girl ...
I'm a grown ass woman and I know just what I'm doing ...
Stupid girl .
You only live once so live in the moment ...
Right ?
Just staying away from reality
A huh
Tryna forget the price I gotta pay ...
A huh
Oh ...

[Hook]
'Cause on the outside it looked like fun
But it turns out my vision's distorted
So I'll just keep drinking until it does
'Cause this is the life I've always wanted
The conse
quences
The consequences
The consequences
Just might tears us apart ... apart ... yea
But I'm just living in the moment .

In the moment , in the moment ... yea
I'm just living in the moment
In the moment , in the moment ... yea
I'm just living in the moment
In the moment , in the moment ... yea

[Outro Adlib over Hook ]
It looked like fun ...
I'll keep drinking ... I'll keep drinking ...
The conse ... the consequences
Just might tear me apart ... apart ... yea

But I'm just living in the moment .

Kidd: You girls are great. You set up this song really well. I'm surprised at how well you can flow and have symmetry with your songs.

Album : Epiphany
Track : Trap Life
Artist : Rum
( & Coke )
Genre : Alternative Hip Hop
Label : Tric-Jam Records
Written by : Nina Tarantino
Produced by : NinaT and Flame 1 & 2
Length : 4:46

Trap Life is the anticipated songs on the whole album . It is the first track on ' Epiphany ' that Rum actually sings on . Ever since announced that Rum has decided to bring out her singing on their sophomore album , many people got excited , waiting to see exactly what the Cuban-Bajan-American rapper's voice would sound like . Finally after months of waiting , Rum & Coke performed on the Goldies and the first song performed was ' John Smith ' which features Rum's singing . All were stunned by her voice and it added a lot to the pile of anticipation Rum & Coke already had for ' Epiphany ' .

There's no one quite like Rum , who has the sultry inflection of Nelly Furtado, the disposition of Rihanna, and the majestically raw vocal prowess of Amy Winehouse and Fiona Apple- all with a Cuban accent of course . No one really expected that from the rapper . Especially after singing ' Chainless ' on the first Rum & Coke album , ' Venom & Versace ' , which she says was drowned in auto-tune . Her voice is magically complex and intoxicating , definitely something unforgettable . In this song Rum uses her voice as a weapon. It's meant to use the lyrics and the power of it to cut sharp and deep, straight to the chambers of the weak person's heart that she seems to be talking about controlling in ' Trap Life ' . The beat helps capture that throughout the song .

You kind of notice how at the beginning of the song , an electric guitar is played and somehow manages to play riffs that sound similar to a ' tick tock ' , almost saying time is out and then the hard beat slams in as Rum starts the song , almost as something is being broke down piece by piece . The music used to support all of the lyrics in this whole album are not just " dope " and " catchy " but artistic , and once again in a one of the song , using the music to fit right in and perfect the lyrics . At first Rum sings in a laid back tone , during the verses and the pre-hook , almost like she's taunting the person who fell into her trap and then in the hook , she begins to sing with more power , almost like she's warning others but at the same time still talking to that one person . Once the bridge comes in she uses the same amount of power in the hook to almost scream the lyrics as she sings them . The bridge eventually winds down by the end of it and then she goes on to the pre-hook and hook singing in that same " aftermath " tone .

Evaluation

[Verse 1]
They told you to set a price
Of what you're willin' to gain and lose
And if it ever became too expensive
Then the game isn't for you
Too bad you didn't listen
'Cause now you're payments are due
You said you'd do anything for it
Do you realize how far I could stretch anything to ?

[Pre-Hook]
So now you're feet just move on the pavement I paved for you
And now you only wear the shoes that I buy for you

I wonder why you don't speak of Holly
In the same tone you used to
And why you're always poppin' mollies
But not for the same reason they do ?

[Hook]
Trap life
Be careful for what you wish
'Cause everything thing advertised isn't what it is
Trap life
Glamorized to the highest
But you better know for exactly what reason that is ...

[Verse 2]
And it is was what you forgot you knew
That left you so damn vulnerable
The fast lane called for you ...
You pictured your name in flashing lights
But cropped out ... the image of the price
And that's how you got schooled

[Pre-Hook]
And now you're feet just move on the pavement I paved for you
And now you only wear the shoes that I buy for you

I wonder why you don't speak of Holly
In the same tone you used to
And why you're always poppin' mollies
But not for the same reason they do ?

[Hook]
Trap life
Be careful for what you wish
'Cause everything thing advertised isn't what it is
Trap life
Glamorized to the highest
But you better know for exactly what reason that is ...

[Bridge]
Fell into your ... dream , dream
Cause if you want it , you got it
That's all that you ... need , need
And the moment you got it you finally felt ... achieved , achieved
But the moment you realize it's not what it seems
It's too late

[Pre-Hook]
And now you're feet just move on the pavement I paved for you
And now you only wear the shoes that I buy for you

I wonder why you don't speak of Holly
In the same tone you used to
And why you're always poppin' mollies
I wonder why you don't speak of Holly
I wonder why you don't speak of Holly

[Hook]
Trap life
Be careful for what you wish
'Cause everything thing advertised isn't what it is

Album : Epiphany
Track : Frio Mundo
Artist : Rum
( & Coke )
Genre : Spanish Alternative
Label : Tric-Jam Records
Written by : Nina Tarantino , Airemese Smith
Produced by : NinaT and inZane
Length : 2:45

Rum continues to amaze critics with her voice as she goes on to sing ' Frio Mundo ' ( ' Cold World ' in Spanish ) after singing ' Trap life ' . Rum's vocals in this song are nice and sharp in the beginning and they give off a determined feel when she begins to almost chant | Pero me he hecho a la idea ... no | and sings at the end of the song | Todo imperio fuerte ... Debe caer algun dia . | A guitar is lightly played throughout the whole song , perfectly matching up with Rum's singing . Once again , another song on this album cuts deep into your mind and makes you think . The guitar fits so right with the vocals that you can't help but keep this short lived song on replay .

[Verse 1]
Frio mundo ... que mas puedo decir ?
Te burlas de mi cuando estoy ciego
Y me tortura cuando estoy despierto
Frio mundo ... que mas puedo decir ?
Te burlas de mí cuando estoy ciego
Y me tortura cuando estoy despierto

[Hook]
Pero me he hecho a la idea ... no
Pero me he hecho a la idea ... no
Pero me he hecho a la idea ... no

[Verse 2]
Frío mundo ... que mas puedo decir ?
Te burlas de mi cuando estoy ciego
Y me tortura cuando estoy despierto
Frío mundo ... que mas puedo decir ?
Todo imperio fuerte ...
Debe caer algun dia .

Album : Epiphany
Track : Free From This
Artist : Rum
( & Coke ) ft. Yasmine
Genre : Alternative Hip Hop
Label : Tric-Jam Records
Written by : Nina Tarantino
Produced by : NinaT , inZane and Flame 1&2
Length : 4:09

' Have Your Epiphany ' is definitely one of the most " vibable " songs on ' Epiphany ' . It features up and coming singer Yasmine , who usually sings Indie Folk/Rock/Pop . Unlike in her previous songs that she's been singing , Yasmine gets to use her monophonic voice in a fun way on this track . Rum finally begins to rap for the second time on this album after the 1st song ' Fear Not ' and the other 3 tracks she's on before this have all been her singing . This has been predicted to be the song that will get the most mainstream success because , unlike pretty much every other song on this album , it is upbeat and not only that , but really catchy . On this song , Rum raps like the old Rum we remember , way back when Rum & Coke were just famous Youtubers .

The song starts off with just snaps as Rum says the intro and then it runs right into Yasmine vocalizing and Rum continuing to say the pre-hook . Soon enough that trails into the still hook sung by Yasmine and then next thing you know Rum is spitting line after line . The 4 minutes of the song do go by quickly because you stay entertained the whole time by the beat and the way Rum frequently changes the pitch and tempo of her voice , as if she's actually talking to you and telling you some juicy gossip . Yasmine vocalizes throughout the whole song in the same rhythm , which kind of creates an add on to the beat . Once again Rum raps about something other than the basic ' hoes , drugs and money ' topics that other rappers seem to always rap about in this song . Her flow in this song has been called by critics " invigorating and gripping " as she uses the techniques of rapping like she's gossiping to pull in the crowd and also educate them by aiming to give them their " epiphany " . Yasmine's voice in the still beat completes the whole thing as the hook ends the song . Everything in and about this song works together perfectly and the constant changes in the beat of the song that differ from Yasmine's vocals to snaps and a still beat to a stimulating one tops it all off .

Rum
Yasmine

[Intro]
Have your epiphany
Have your epiphany
Have your epiphany
Have your epiphany

[Pre-Hook]
B-b-blow your motherfucking mind
( Oh woah oh oh-ohh )
Puff puff pass the knowledge to your right side
( Oh woah oh oh-ohh )
Take it how you wanna , Imma put it aside
( Oh woah oh oh-ohh )
Perceive it if you wanna 'cause Imma put it down like ...
( Oh woah oh oh-ohh )

[Hook]
Open your eyes ... take a breath
Don't be scared ... take my hand
Even though ... you might not know
Trust me yo' ... you wanna be ... free from this

[Verse 1]
I've seen things you could never live with
Things that would blind your vision
Face it , Nina's life isn't something you'd wanna deal with
On a daily basis , all I saw was ghost and painted faces
Nowadays all I see is the raiders , the raided and the overrated
The money makers , paper chasers and hypnotists along the oasis
Obligated , is there a such thing as a safe haven ?
Obfuscated , what sense is this making ?
Objection ! What does this have to do with me ?
Why the fuck do I care if you have your epiphany ?
Shit , Ionn' know , maybe freedom is overrated
But that's yo' decision
You want a piece of the pie ? Make yo' incision
Life is so much easier when YOU decide the way you're gonna live it
The world would be too , but we're too incoherent
7 billion , couldn't make peace if we tried , too bad our life depends on it ...

[Pre-Hook]
B-b-blow your motherfucking mind
( Oh woah oh oh-ohh )
Puff puff pass the knowledge to your right side
( Oh woah oh oh-ohh )
Take it how you wanna , Imma put it aside
( Oh woah oh oh-ohh )
Perceive it if you wanna 'cause Imma put it down like ...
( Oh woah oh oh-ohh )

[Hook]
The truth came out ... it's on you now
Back away ... or you could stay
Don't be scared ... take my hand
Trust me yo ... you wanna be ... free from this

[Verse 2]
Who the hell is this ?
Callin' my phone at 3:26
Sittin' here tryna tell me how to live
Like Imma give up my morals for a few cents , nah , Rum has entirely too much sense ...
To be lured into a crap deal
Uh , what the fuck am I gonna do with a few toys and a Happy Meal ?
Like damn , I got more and lost less in a crack deal
I even learned shit on the way , I'm being forreal !
But I left that life , so what makes you think that I
Will redo the curse of ignorance that was implanted on my life
I got 2 eyes and they work perfectly fine
So you sittin' here tryin' to tell me this is the way , lets me know that you're blind
I could obtain all success ? You're just wasting my time
I could do that if I wanted , just biding my time
Now look , I'm 22 , loyal , intact and at my prime
How ? Because I was never settled on the dimes
Why chase a diamond when I could have the mine ?
Isn't perseverance the key to what you want in life ?

[Hook]
They say the truth will ... set you free
Look around ... nothing's what it seems
That I know ... and you will too
Trust me yo' ... because I'm ... free from this

[Intro]
Have your epiphany
Have your epiphany
Have your epiphany
Have your epiphany

Right after the upbeat rap song ' Free from This ' , ' Mirror ' comes in and calms everything down to transition back to the laid back music that this album is solely based on . The song starts off with a soft intro that kind of carries the listener into the song right before a simple but strong beat smashes in , following something that sounds like a " tock " . This isn't the first time in the album that some type of " tock " was used , the same thing appeared on ' Trap life ' when in the intro a guitar played something similar to the sound of a " tick tock " to give off the time's running out feel to the song . This is the same thing that happens in this song , except for the " tock " plays throughout the whole song instead of just the intro . Almost like Rum is trying to warn before time runs out . Once again , just the beat portrays the whole song for Rum & Coke and become one with the lyrics instead of just background music .

In the first verse , Rum sings in her Cuban accent again , and on the track it's almost shaky . She does a great job of representing a helpless voice in this song . She says that she doesn't sing much , yet her voice is that of a professional's with high training . The control she has in this song seems so little until you actually try to sing the first and second verse yourself and realize that it's hard to cut the words off as sharp ( but still shaky ) as she did . The lyrics to the first verse are bold if you know what she's talking about , but at the same time might seem vague if you don't . The track list and the order of it was carefully looked over and over by Rum & Coke to make sure that things were clear on what was going on . They say themselves that all production and recording was pretty much done by May , but it took them some time to be absolutely positive that the order of the track list and the cutting was done perfectly . They had to stall themselves some time with their E.P , 7 Deadly Sins , so that the buzz around Rum & Coke would just fade away as they took their precious time figuring everything out .
" What's the point of naming an album epiphany if no one realizes anything ? " says Coke . By now , if the listener hasn't caught on , they haven't been paying any attention to the lyrics of any of the songs from before .

Once the pre-hook begins , the simple beat turns into a beat that's a little more complex than the original and the song itself speeds up just a little . Instruments and synths in the background are overshadowed by the strong beat , but adds a big effect to the feeling given off by the music and the lyrics that Rum's sings . In the pre-hook , her voice goes from a soft warning to a firm one as she belts lots of power in the section of the song and then ends it off back the way she sung in the first verse . This helps transition her into the 2nd verse easily .

It almost seems like the hook was skipped and the song instead slides right past it and goes right to the second verse as the second verse begins . Rum & Coke has managed to tease the crowd all throughout ' Epiphany ' by taking away hooks and shortening some songs and in this case , not introducing the hook until the end of the song . They pull it off every time though . The second verse is much like the first . It starts out with Rum singing in that shaky but sharp voice just like earlier , but then the same sped up beat from the pre-hook begins to play in the middle of the second verse as her voice also starts to sound a little more like how it did in the pre-hook .

When the second hook ends , it already sounds similar to the pre-hook so the transition to it is very smooth . The pre-hook doesn't change much from the first time it played earlier in the song before the second hook . Rum sings the same notes she did before , but since the beat was playing through the second verse it does't play in the pre-hook . It does come back on however , when the hook finally plays as almost the outro of the song .

[Verse 1]
No it ain't what it seems
We're all living a dream
Need y'all to hear me out please
I just say what I see
Just tryna make you see
And give you an epiphany
'Cause we can't plan to succeed
If we're all fast asleep

[Pre-Hook]
Well I don't know what it means to you
But I don't like being lied to
'Cause when the truth comes out it won't just affect you
When the truth comes out it'll affect a few
I don't know if you already knew
But the world is evil even when the skies are blue
Can you hear me ?
I could help you ...

[Verse 2]
We're all tryna face our demons
That's where we angled our defense
And even a little at our friends
Just in case somebody felt like backstabbing
But it's just not enough
And you wonder why life's so tough
'Cause in the wrong people you put yo' trust
God knows they're the wrong people to trust ...

[Pre-Hook]
Well I don't know what it means to you
But I don't like being lied to
Cause when the truth comes out it won't just affect you
When the truth comes out it'll affect a few
I don't know if you already knew
But the world is evil even when the skies are blue
Listen to me
I could help you ...

[Hook]
No it ain't what it seems ...
Wake up and see that it ain't what it seems
Distorted visions of what we call free
Nothing , nothing , nothing
It's not what it seems
No it ain't ... no no

Album : Epiphany
Track : Wake Up
Artist : Rum
( & Coke ) ft. Matt Young
Genre : Hip Hop Rap
Label : Tric-Jam Records
Written by : Nina Tarantino
Produced by : Flame 1&2
Length : 3:52

' Wake Up ' starts off with a really dark feeling intro . It gives off a very dramatic feeling , especially when vocals come in singing in an operatic manner . Something you would probably hear in a movie when someone is about to get into some trouble . Or maybe it would be the same thing you hear in a movie when the characters arrive in to a mysterious place or something in that sort . All in all , it fits right into the theme of ' Wake Up ' which tackles a lot of ironic things about America- or could really be any country -that claims to be free , yet pretty much traps people into certain positions , like poverty , and giving out distorted visions of it to the citizens of it and people outside of the country .

The intro of all the theatrical voices , after a while , are cut off and immediately Rum begins rapping the first verse right off the back . This song is the last track that is solely based on ( or is lead by ) Rum's rapping on the album other than their last single off of the album , ' Money Makes Fools ' . In all there are only 4 songs on ' Epiphany ' that focuses on Rum's rapping out of the 17 tracks . Her reasoning for only rapping on such little tracks was simply , " Because I sang on the others . " Seems like a good excuse since fans already expected their sophomore album to be a little more focused on Rum's singing since she announced it . " I promise I'll make it up on our next album though ! It was just so hard to avoid all the anticipation my singing was going to create so I had to make sure there were just enough songs I sung in . "

Once her rap is over , Rum begins the hook . It isn't much , just every now and then she says , | Wake up | , prior to the beat that is being played . She does that 8 times until finally it is time for Matt's verse . Matt and Rum met at Buzz & Hype's freestyle competition back in May . The two went at it hard and both spit amazing lines , but just by a few cheers , Matt Young won their round . 3 months later Rum hit MattY up and told him that she'd love to do a collaboration with him anytime he wanted . It took some time but when she finally made ' Wake Up ' she called him again and asked him to jump on the track . He did and everything turned out perfect . His rap tuned in perfectly with the rest of the song and the beat .

When MattY finishes his rap , he then goes on to say the hook just like Rum did and afterwards the bridge begins . Rum raps the bridge in almost a whisper tone , as if she's telling a secret to somebody and the beat also calms down too . When the beat begins to rise , so does the volume of Rum's voice and once she returns to a normal voice level , the bridge by then is finished and she goes back to saying the hook . This time Matt Young says it with her and it continues until the beat fades out and the song finally ends .

[Verse 1]
Welcome to America , land of the free
Where all the upper class folks are rich as can be
And everybody else is caught up in poverty
Your value as a person is based on your money
And it's almost like nobody even sees
That if you're born anywhere but Wall Street
You aren't expected to rise above these darkened streets
Livin' in this country is a muthafuckin prodigy
No we don't got tanks roaming the blocks
But their trying to make us live and love institution
And all they're worried about is what is bold
How fucking long will it take for this to come to fruition ?
Ha ... and that's the sickest part
They got you chasing the dream and you're all caught up
You're wrapped around their finger , yo' I swear you're being mocked
This is a Public Service Announcement ... wake up !

[Verse 2]
Wake up motherfucker, I said wake up.
Don't you realize that the whole world just went pop?
This world is a struggle, this world ain't no game,
So man's got to end this shit in order to stay sane,
Success should be measured by how you feel inside,
Not the way that the world sees it, are you pockets filled with dimes?
The world leaders gather all the fucking time,
But we don't see no improvements, so all i can do is fucking rhyme.
I'll spit this shit all day long, and i'll help promote this fucking song,
But the entire world is going wrong, so i'd best keep moving, staying strong,
Moving forwards - escalating,
keeping my career elevating,
To new heights, and unexplored territories,
This undiscovered world comes with no pedigree,
We are all fucking different, no one is the same,
So wake up motherfuckers, it's time to end the game.

[Hook]
Wake Up (x8)

[Bridge]
Greed used to be about how many animals you decided to kill
Now it's about displaying bodies all over the Earth for a little oil to spill
The world used to be about focusing on your grind
But as of right now it's wake up time
I'm too gold to be controlled , it's just not my thing
I stayed loyal and received abundance , something like a promise ring
Just notice the obstacles and overcome them , you too can do the same
Wake yourself up and end the fucking game
