submissive Japanese girl.
She was only 17. Innocent and naive to the ways of the world..
Too naive to know that paying for bad choices,
Is a check that never bounces.
She was a submissive Japanese girl.
You were fresh out of high school.
A killing machine without a test run.
First time on your own.
You know what you want.
You want a submissive Japanese girl.
She never stood a chance against you.
Small and easily crushed to dust.
Now She is easy to control, like a rickety kite on an iron tether.
She was a submissive Japanese girl.
Your hand can cover her entire face.
Your foot,her chest.
You like to hear her cry. It must mean she loves you.
You make what is done for pleasure, a punishment.
You made her a submissive Japanese girl.
She would look out the window,at the help just out of reach.
She knew help may as well be in the center of the universe.
She was in a desert with no passing caravans.
She would die here, and she accepted it.
She was a submissive Japanese girl.
When you were dying on that sandy street, did you think about the girl you were setting free?
Did you think your spilled blood looked like hers?
Did you even give her a second thought?
Probably not. She was just another submissive Japanese girl.
a few seconds of tape hiss is heard before the piano starts the song. The piano is slow and deliberate, giving the song appropriate tension. Mariko audibly swallows before singing. Her voice is more raspy than usual,as if she had been sobbing before recording. the song is delivered in a regretful manner. Mariko sings to her younger self ,knowing she can't change what will eventually be done. Being that it doesn't rhyme, words are drawn out to make them fit as best as possible. There is no chorus, but each verse is seperated by a piano fill. Around the middle of the third verse comes the crescendo ,which doesn't subside until the last line of the song.in contrast, mariko's voice doesn't get any louder. It remains low and mournful. When she reaches the final line, she stops playing and simply speaks "she was just another submissive Japanese girl.". Mariko sez: the first song I actually play an instrument on. I guess it is appropriate. It was emotionally hard to sing. It may as well be physically hard too, right? Many things inspired me to write and let people hear this. First was the appearance of Adam black at honor wynter's Halloween party. (We all know what he did,I'm not going to go over it here.) There was also pixie's "the coldest nights" . Which is way more eloquent than my song. But we can not all be pixie, right?
I thought maybe it was time to tell my story. I was in a very abusive relationship for years. I probably still would be,but he was in the united states military and... Well, there are certain occupational hazards involved. I am streaming this song as I do not want to sell it. It would not be right to make money off this. I will not perform it,for obvious reasons. But on the faceless Internet? That works for me. It will be available until I get embarrassed and take it down.
sounds a little like:
