He just smiled a bit wider when she mentioned she trusted him. He wasn't sure what was it about her, maybe it was the traces of her personality he had caught onto already or just that adorable face she had, but he knew he didn't want to hurt her. Ryan bite his bottom lip slightly before speaking. "Thank you trusting me. I'm not going to abuse that, you have my word on that." He smiled her way again, his eyes tracing down at the menu one more time when she asks him what he was going to order. "I think I'm gonna go with the New York strip too, not the petite. It's almost like the husband and wife strip, if you will." He smirked before closing the menu and setting it aside. Before they could say anything else the waitress returned with his glass of scotch and her water, placing the bottle of wine at the center of the table, filling a glass of wine for each of them and placing them on their respective sides of the table.

Ryan held his smile as she believed his word. In no way could he say he was the perfect boyfriend in the past. There were things usually of his own design that caused him to stray away or not be as honest as he was capable of. He was old enough that there were no technical games to be played when he dated someone. "I believe they say every good relationship starts with a good steak" He added jokingly before taking his own wine glass in his hand, swirling it around before leaning forward on the table as the waitress left again, giving them a moment to decide what they wanted. He didn't bother in stopping her as he smiled at Izzy, pondering her question as he raised his glass towards hers. "A toast for us. To a successful first date that hopefully leads to more dates and getting to know each other further."

It was still early on in their evening together, but he could already grasp that despite her age, she was wise beyond her years a bit. She wasn't stuck in being or acting as a teenager on a personal standpoint, which was perfect. Ryan had a worry that they were going to be so different in that sense that it would make for a one-and-out sort of thing. He smiled as their glass clinged together. "Cheers," he said quietly before taking a long drink from the glass, then placing it down on the table, next to his scotch. "I'll teach you how to drink whiskey another night. That might just get you drunk very quickly. While drunk Izzy sounds like a sight to see, I rather not have to carry you out of here." He stated with a laugh as he tapped his finger against the scotch glass. "So what should I know about the Mejores family? I know you're close to your family. I just want to be aware if I should watch my back for any crazy fathers smashing my windshield." He asked her with a soft chuckle, taking another sip from his wine glass.

"It's quite easy to enjoy wine, particularly white wine, it has that sweet savoring flavor. I actually had wine cellar in my basement years ago, this was the first house I ever bought in Los Angeles." He nodded his head as she mentioned she never had gotten drunk before, noting that while she wasn't a teenager, she still was young enough to not have experienced certain things in life. "If that's the case then you need to try hard liquor in private. Otherwise you're gonna be seen dragged out of club, wasted as fuck at four in the morning." He imagined the sight in his head and it would be rather hilarious to see her drunk, as usually is the case with anyone who has never been drunk before. Ryan listened attentively as she spoke about her family, chuckling a little at comment about a crazy father, nodding his head as she spoke about the men of her family which all seemed like rather the characters. "I can understand his view, obviously he knows how the industry is and he doesn't want you to go down the wrong path or probably date someone like me." He mentioned with a small laugh, knowing quite well of Hayden's antics, the two having very gotten along. "Yeah, I remember Hayden when I use to have a Twitter, he sounded very, yeah." He chuckled under his breath, never having the best history when it came to male members of his significant other's family. It was just difficult to find common ground. "I'll need some tips before any of that, just so he doesn't kill me in my sleep." He suggested with a sarcastic, nervous laugh.

"I can certainly respect that, hard liquor is a whole another level than just wine or beer is. If you're ken on it though, wine is still a delicious experience, whether you know much about it or not." Ryan couldn't deny his love for a good wine or glass of scotch, although the amount he drinks has decreased since his vocal issues last year, being more careful as to how much he intakes on a given night. "No, it's fine. I can understand where he's coming from, I wasn't too far off from that a couple of years ago. I think it's something kind of wears off as you get older, at least it has for me. I still know he's a young guy." He took another sip of his wine, smirking as he heard her speak more about her family. "I mean, stranger things have happen, right? I don't know if we'll ever be the best of friends, but really how can we be when I'm seeing their daughter or cousin? Honestly, I want them to like me, but it's not as important to me as getting you to liking me." He tells her with a smile before running a hand through his hair. "I know you've heard it before and it's a cheesy line, but you really do have a lovely smile. That face of yours can probably let you get away with murder if you tried."

"Well I figure it's a good thing to have a lot of different characters in a family. It makes for entertaining moments I'm sure." He smiled a bit more as he noticed her blush again. Ryan wasn't trying to play any charm game tactics on her, just being honest with what he thought, in his eyes she was a beautiful woman. He rubbed his forehead, chuckling at her comment about him. "Thanks, I mean I'm sure if you look close enough you can find some wrinkles on my face, so this table between is a plus for now at least." He told her with a sly smirk, having the small amount of wine that remained in his glass just as the waitress was coming back to take their order.

Ryan laughed at her defense of his looks. He wasn't totally unuse to the attention he got from women, he was flattered that Izzy, with how young she was, would find some appeal in his looks. He turned his head slightly seeing the waitress coming back to their table, before returning his attention over to his date as he watched her remove her jacket. He chuckled throwing his hands up slightly to his chest. "Now, now, Iz. I feel like it's my job as your date for the evening to make you blush. Especially if it means it'll make you remove layers of clothing." He stated with a small devlish smirk, just as the waitress reached their table, turning his focus away from Izzy for a moment, looking down at their menu assure what they were ordering. "We'll have the 40 day dry aged New York Strip. I'll have the regular strip, while my beautiful lady over here will have the petite NY strip. I want my strip well-done and with a light cabernet sauce." He closed his menu, handing it over to the waitress, who waited for Izzy to give her details on how she wants her steak. "I'm not too sure how you like your steak, but it does say a lot about a woman I think."

"Well not as much as you would think. I believe playing guitar can make anyone look better in certain women's heads than they actually are. I'm definitely no Ryan Gosling or whoever the ladies are swooning over these days." He modestly added with a chuckle. He couldn't pinpoint the appeal he had with women, not really thinking his looks had much to do with me. Perhaps it was the fact that he was a musician and held some sort of charm in his personality. He smirked, nodding his head along with her next sentence. "That's fair enough, honey. I like a good challenge if you will." He added with a smile, sitting back a bit more in his chair as Izzy detailed her order. He gave the waitress a small nod as he headed off with their menus and respective orders down, leaning back forward on the table. "I believe that said you're a simple, easy-going girl."

"A Johnny Depp kind of girl, huh? I don't think I know too many of those. At least I'm younger than Johnny Depp by like a good fifteen years, I have that working for me, right?" He suggested with a small smirk. He chuckled at her follow-up comment, nodding his head getting a good idea as to what she was hinting. "I have a feeling I won't be going anywhere, Iz." He laughed a little, nodding his head at her joke of a possible steak reader. "I'm not sure how much a steak reader gets paid, but hopefully it's enough to cover my watch collecting. Some people when they make it in this industry start collecting cars, or paintings, shoes maybe. I'm a die-hard watch guy. The only time you'd see me not wear a watch is when I shower or go to bed."

"Thank you for that compliment. I'm glad my wine isn't as old as Johnny Depp's quite yet though." He remarked with a laugh, his gaze never really leaving her. She had his full attention. "I think if you let me stick around, I'll never be too far away. It could be fun, each of us could lead the other to experience different things and enjoy each other's company." He told her with a soft smile, not wanting to get ahead of himself, but having a feeling that this wouldn't be the last time they'd be out spending time together. "Postcards, really? No, that's like a tiny souvenir from everywhere you've been. It's also inexpensive. I won't tell you how many watches I own but it's a vast amount, let's leave it at that."
