"Oh, so you are funny." She laughs and then brings him in for a hug. She was that type of person, always open and friendly. "Yes, it's nice to meet you finally. Jen's been keeping you to herself it seems. Come on in." She makes way for the two of them to walk inside. "How is she treating you, Scott?"

Jen walks in and immediately smells food cooking, Italian food. "Oh, mom, you cooked? It smells delicious in here." She looks around, taking in the familiar scene of her home. "You guys didn't change a thing, it's like being a teenager again." She looks back at the two of them, hoping he would be less nervous now. Thankfully, her father didn't answer or else he probably would have made Scott want to get back in the car and leave.

"Stop making yourself sound like a puppy." Jen says, laughing at him. Susan also laughed a little and then followed beside them to the living room. "Jen told me you were quite the comedian, and thank you. We try to keep it as simple as usual. We even keep Jen's room for when she visits. I made some lemonade if you two want any?" She stood by the frame where the living room started as Jen sat on the couch. "I'm good mom. Where's daddy? And everyone else for that matter?"

"I sent Lucas to the store and Katie will be a little late. Your father is out back trying to fix up a playground for your niece. He's been working on it so long, I don't know why. It's not like she's going to come out wanting to swing." Jen looked out the window. "He's more excited than Katie and Michael."

"I'd like to put you on a higher level than a puppy but okay." She smirks at him. When Susan hears about him not having real lemonade, she almost smiles. "Never had lemonade? Oh my, I forgot you're not really American. I'll get you a nice big glass then. You can't come here without a glass, family rule." She goes to the kitchen as Jen looks back over at him. "Are you still having a nervous breakdown over there?" She laughed softly.

"Awww, they do not you big baby." She laughs. "You do not need to be nervous. He's harmless." Just as she finishes speaking, she sees her father walking into the living room. "Dad!" She smiles and jumps up to go hug him. Jen and her parents were very clise, her dad and her more than ever. Her father, David, was a husky kind of guy. He had black short hair and sort of resembled Jen. He grinned at her and pulled her in for a hug. "There's my baby girl. How are you?" She looked up at him. "I'm good. I have someone for you to meet, and be nice." She looked over at Scott. "Daddy, this is Scott, my fiancé. Scott, this is my father, David."

David glances at Scott for a second before shaking his hand firmly. "Nice to meet you. So you're the guy who thinks he can whisk my daughter away to marriage, huh?" Jen shakes her head. "Dad, be nice I said. I'm gonna go help mom with the lemonade. Don't kill him, I like this one." She smirks at her father and then Scott as she walked out of the living room. David sat down on the couch, letting out a small grunt as he did so. "So tell me about yourself...Scott."

David watches him as he speaks. Of course he thought anyone was never good enough for his daughters, specifically Jennifer. She had the roughest time out of all the children and he was very protective of her. "A boy band? Well I'll be damned. I've never cared for boy bands myself. I'm also more of a mustard guy." He sits up in his chair. "So, why didn't you think meeting us was more important before proposing to my daughter?"

"So how does that work? You're away, she's away, how can you think a relationship like this is good? I mean, how long have you guys been together?" He scratched his head. "If you didn't have time for family before, I don't understand how you think that'll change in the future. When you're off with your little boy band and she's off doing something, you think a phone will be good enough?"

"Of course, because love is all you need right?" He chuckles as Susan and Jen walk into the living room carrying glasses of lemonade. "Are you intimidating him?" She glares at her dad, giving him a playful evil look then sits beside Scott, handing him his drink. "Sorry it took so long." Susan sits down in the chair opposite of them and hands David a glass.

"I was just messing with you kid. I like you. You seem alright. Don't make me change my mind though." David grins at him and drinks some of his lemonade. Susan chuckles and shakes her head. "That's David for you."

Jennifer smiles at Scott and then takes a sip of her lemonade. "When's dinner? I'm starving." Susan looked at the clock. "About another 30 minutes or so. I still need some more things though, I have to whip up dessert."

"If I went soft, you would have said something stupid, right? You're lucky, I did you a favor and taught you to be on your best behavior around us." He grins. Jen shakes her head and laughs. "You won't get that speech from him. Yes, he's at the store with my sister. He's like...you so you'll enjoy him."
