Plus I had a lot going on back then, and ended up having to juggle three jobs to fund living. Man, I did a lot of stuff I wasn't proud of last year hahah, I've been way more sensible this year round, managed to re-equate through working, resitting, and careful planning to the point I'm down to the two jobs I love, but it's all part of the learning experience! :)
(P.S. even if it seems a really good idea, never EVER book plane tickets or buy expensive hardware online when drunk.)
(P.P.S. K Cider is your best friend on a budget.) Haha, thanks man. That sounds brutal. I suppose I was always going to overspend early on in my first year, not used to having over a grand in my bank account. Never paying by cash is what fucks me over, always whip my card out. So you're on your third year now? Neat. I can't imagine being 3 years down the line yet, never want this student lifestyle to wear off. K Cider.... no. I bought it one night, it is insane. It's like rocket fuel. 8.4% is not a lie. Saying that, I probably will buy it again. Ahh for the first couple years it's kind of grimly inevitable, hence why it's fortunate finance that comes in tri-monthly instalments thereabouts, hahah. I do what everyone else has said on here pretty much, take out 30-40 for a night and then leave my card at my flat or just don't touch it, but hey we all have moments of weakness. ;) It's all part of the experience and stuff anyhow though, so enjoy it and make the most of it! And nahh, I'm resitting my second year while beginning third year as a part-timer, so I'm only ever in twice a week which is nice and easy to juggle with work at the moment. Last year while racking my savings back up from the ground, I worked my way into a managerial job last year almost by accident and was actually running a hotel for a while alongside other commitments, so the hours I clocked up seriously conflicted with my uni schedule and I missed/failed so many deadlines because I was stretched so thin, but as I said, it's all rebalanced now and I only have bar management to worry about now, hahah. Kinda goes as proof that you can always weasel your way out of financial hell somehow as well. :P |
