What about alcohol and cigarettes? They aren't illegal, but still cause a load of harm to your body and the other things you said. Are they not as bad for you because they're legal? Or are they just as bad, and should be illegal?

There is a reason why they are called illegal drugs, with the exception of weed all the other drugs have a worse effect on your body which are bad for the body, wich is the reason why they are illegal.

LSD is less likely to kill you than Alcohol. Ecstasy is safer than riding a course according to a leading British medical professional (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7876425.stm).

It should be out choice to do as we please with out bodies. Nobody elses.

plus, LSD isn't as addictive as alcohol. in fact, is not physically addictive and i think that it isn't psychologically addictive, besides you can get mad or something like that (i know a normal girl who did LSD, having a mental illness that she didn't know, and after doing it she got mad and went into hospital for a month or so. and now she's fine like always, thought she'll never do acid again).
Yeah, plus the fact that it is physically impossible to OD on LSD. I mean you can overdose on fucking aspirin, but not LSD. And yet it's treated as a class A drug in the UK.

Spastics.

thought i would go on with the +18 for a drug like LSD. i did acid just once, last year. i was 14, and i had a fucking amazing experience, but even in that state i could understand i was too young to be doing something like that.

The problem with age limits is they are so fucking arbitary. Take it from me as a 24 year old, just over a week away from turning 25. I felt no different at 16 than 18. And not all that different at 21 from 18. The thing is, different people mature at different ages and arbitary age limits are fucking bullshit.

Going past illegality for a moment, what about drugs for medicinal purposes? Say in the case of marajuana used to replace drugs like morphine, which been opiate based and can be highly addictive users can eventually build up a tolerance to it. I think it can have a place for pain relieval over morphine, if governments were more likely to allow research with it than what has already been done. Thoughts?

A lot of artists used recreational drugs as a means of inspiration and new experience too. Van Gogh, for a major example.

Drugs can give you many things. Make you immune to pain for short periods of time, make you deliriously happy, they can inspire you artistically, and obviously they can have plenty of negative effects.

But the idea that drug users are stupid is in its self quite silly. As already mentioned, Sigmund Freud, the worlds most renowned psychoanalyst was an absolute coke fiend, author Stephen King spent most of the 80s high on cocaine, confessing he "cannot remember a couple of books" he wrote during this time. American polymath Ben Franklin used opium and cocaine. Victorian era authors Charles Dickens and Arthur Conan Doyle both used opium. Author Aldous Huxley did not shy away from use of psychoactive drugs like mescaline & LSD. Apple founder Steve Jobs has used LSD & cannabis. Kary Mullis, the 1993 Nobel Prize for Chemistry winner had this to say "Back in the 1960s and early '70s I took plenty of LSD. A lot of people were doing that in Berkeley back then. And I found it to be a mind-opening experience. It was certainly much more important than any courses I ever took."

Yeah, I think you see my point. A Nobel winner is smarter than you and I.

i think that this is where i shock you all...well maybe.

Personally i try and avoid most medical drugs, including asprin and paracitemol... simply because i think they are far to over used in the modern world and the more you use them the less the effect they have as your body builds up a resistance to it.
I hate it when people see me at the supermarket and they are like:
Hey, what are you doing here?
and im just like:
Oh you know, hunting elephants

That pretty much goes for most medical drugs that fight viruses. People feel the need to be dosed up on drugs for even the tiniest ailment, thus creating a rather worrying situation with superbugs.

Congratulations, this is one of the most retarded things I've read on the interwebs in the past few months.

On drugs: almost everyone I know has smoked weed at least once (hey, we're Dutch, we have to, hehe), but that's not a big deal. Most of the people I know that moved on to hard stuff though dropped out of high school and became antisocial retards that almost everyone pities. That said, I have never smoked weed, snorted coke or done anything of the sort.
