WEEKEND'S SCOTT WELLINGTON IN CAR CRASH


Weekend and vehicles don't tend to have the best relationship at times - Billy Khan was run over by a speeding Landrover and hospitalised last year whilst Oscar Ward, who most recently passed his driving test, had the windows of his first ever car smashed by a young group of males who clearly prefer The Zone. Now it appears that Scott Wellington, the eldest member of the band, has been in the wars after he was involved in a rather nasty collision this evening during his journey back to his L.A home which he shares with his fiancee, Jennifer Armstrong.

The 22-year-old pop star is currently in hospital after receiving trauma to the head when his car crashed into the back of a Porsche Cayenne which was stationary at the traffic lights. The driver of this vehicle was a middle-aged woman who was giving her younger brother a ride back home. Apart from a little shock and huge surge of adrenaline, the pair came out of the whole incident without even a bruise upon their skin. Wellington on the other hand received rather nasty looking head injuries which we cannot post pictures of due to the graphic content. Surprisingly, Scott was still conscious after the crash and despite being in extreme pain, he seemed to be functioning normally and was even said to have been joking with the passengers of the other vehicle who came to his aid.

The driver of the Porsche, Cheryl Flanagan (46), seemed more concerned about the safety of the heartthrob rather than the damage to her husband's car that she had borrowed for the night; "My brother and I were lucky to be in such a big car and at the front too. We didn't really take much of a beating, just a little whiplash and a major scare but I knew that the other driver would be hurt since he was only in a little hatchback and it hit with some force." Scott is known for his love of hatchback cars and refuses to pay 'outrageous' amounts of money for a mode of transport. His first car was a '93 Volkswagen Golf which was originally his father's. His second vehicle is the now damaged Toyota Matrix shown in the above picture. The reasonably priced car took the majority of the blow whilst the Porsche Cayenne remained almost remarkable unscathed.

It can be confirmed that no drink or drugs were involved in the crash and it's believed that it was all down to Scott simply not paying attention due to having many things on his mind at the time - possibly his upcoming wedding which needs a whole lot of planning? The female driver of the other vehicle went onto describe the state Wellington was in whilst her brother called for paramedics. "I was surprised to find Scott behind the wheel. My daughter is a huge fan and the whole situation still seems rather surreal. He was his usual self, just chatting away and he was even joking with us. I don't know how many times he apologised for the damage. I do think that the accident gave his system a shot of adrenaline because he would just not stop talking. I could tell that he was in pain though and he had rather nasty wounds on his forehead but he didn't appear to have any serious, life threatening injuries. However, I'm not a doctor so I can't be 100% confident on that."

Scott is currently being treated at St Vincent Medical Centre and we are expecting to receive news about his condition soon. Weekend are used to being in the wars though so we hope that Mr Wellington will be back up and on his feet in no time. He might want to let someone else take the wheel in future though.
