If the consensus is that people do want to move to a new forum (and that does seem to be the case), I'm happy to help with the creation/ownership of it. We definitely need something that won't just give up the ghost at the mere thought of three people opening a PM at the same time and this version is starting to creak and cast an eye over the fate of Trsg circa 2008. So yeah, my suggestion would be that we get going on it asap. Even if we just start the ball rolling on the creation so it's there. |

HOLY HELL IS THIS FORUM SLOW. I'm all for a new one, I think it's something we've needed for a while now. I've also got experience with Invisionfree and I'm willing to help design anything if need be. :) |

No one has stepped up to sort of spearhead the new forum project like creating it. I hope someone trustworthy can step up quick and just say they'll take charge and then we can go from there.

We should really do this . I have a feeling that if we wait any longer , 1 or 2 things will happen : People will get aggravated and leave or this site would just crash for good and I would hate for either to happen . So yea , you guys have my full support . Hopefully we can all get a chance to save all of our stuff before this site does anything stupid . If any of the mods should take charge , I'd say it be GK because he's way more active than the other mods . And we are in desperate need for more mods when we get on the other site . People who are also active , fair and would take it serious . ( I suggest Jaime and Tequila ) And I guess we should come up with a new name . Don't think it would be right if we up and left and took the name with us lol .
So ... yea . I know nothing about forums so I'm just gonna fade off into oblivion and figure out how to save my stuff .

I think one thing we need when we start a new forum is an American mod as well as what we have. At the moment, myself, Andrew and Stacy deal with most things but there are times when we're all asleep. I clear up spam and things most mornings but it would be cool to have an American mod to help out as well lol.

I agree with the comment above. Without Carl's approval, you can't really take the TRSG name and take it over to a new forum. I honestly think a new forum will most likely just be used by the people who RP on here already. The forums as is have already driven away from using the actual game factor these forums were meant for. So I personally think it should be called something else and if we're focusing in on roleplaying, do that, make it an RP site. If it's just a reboot of a TRSG forums, Carl's word will be needed and I'm sure he would want it associated with the game too. |

I agree with the idea! the forum is definitely getting worse, so a new forum would be the best way to go. Even just as a back-up for when this place totally fails. I'd recommend GK to set it up because he's always around here and would be able to keep on top of things or GirlSpice because she has an unnatural gift for creativity! Couple of things though, I think if you can keep the layout as similar to this forum then that would be best and try to integrate as many features from here as possible (email notifications, thanks, etc.) I'm sort of an obsessive compulsive and a bit of a neat freak so I tend to avoid other forums if I find the layout untidy and also I hate seeing ads that they have on other forums, dunno if other people are the same but if there was a way to avoid that and make it as similar to this place as possible then I think that would be the best solution. |

I agree that we can't take the TRSG name, since basically everyone supports this now, we can move forward but we should choose a new name. We could create a sticky post in the main RP forum here which links to the new forum. We could also sticky a link that would lead back to this forum.
@C4AJoh; Ads are basically a given. That's like the only thing that YAF offers as a benefit, a lack of ads. Don't think thanks are on any other forum-system either. |

Ok, folks, looks like we had another creaking incident today and a period of downtime, as per usual, taking us closer to the crumbling of our little roleplay planet for good. While it was down, Mr Erich Hess kindly set up a new forum here http://z13.invisionfree....argame/index.php?act=idx which I believe we can make use of as a new starting point and a new home as and when we want or need it. DA, you said you know about editing and stuff yeah? |

I am buying a domain soon with a SA-MP server and I can throw a forum up there if y'all would like that. I will only use the SA-MP server, but the deal I have on the SA-MP server comes with a domain anyway. I'd like to put it to use some how, since I'm buying it lol. If y'all aren't interested, I'll just name the domain some random name and never use it. /shrug |
