“Wild Young Things World Tour” is a concert tour by American rock band ‘R!ot In The Boulevard’ in support of their fourth studio album, ‘Wild Young Things’, which was released in September 2013. It marks the band’s second official world tour, their first being in 2013 in support of their previous album ‘Crossroads’. The tour will reportedly be the biggest tour that the band will have embarked upon, taking in at least 8 legs, covering North America twice, Europe twice, Asia & Oceania twice as well as South America and brief run of shows in Africa, the first time the band has ever performed on the African continent. It will also see the band perform in places they are yet to venture, with the likes of Chile, Peru and Colombia on the South American leg, India, Indonesia and Thailand on the Asia & Oceania leg and as previously mentioned, a run of shows in South Africa.
The tour Itinery will see the band beginning with the North American leg, where they will be performing in smaller club venues across the USA and Canada, this leg will begin at The Roxy in West Hollywood, California and ending at the Prairieland in Canada. Before the band then head out to South America for the second leg, which will begin in March. They will then venture onto the Asia & Oceania leg of the tour from April until May before a four-date stop in Africa which will include a free concert in Port Elizabeth. The final confirmed leg of the tour will be in Europe throughout June and July with rumours that the band will be playing a part on the European festival circuit.
There is confirmation that the band will then take on another three legs of the tour, but the dates haven’t been 100% confirmed at the moment. So although the tour has been announced and tickets will be going on sale from next Friday, don’t worry if you can’t catch them just yet, many more dates are expected to be announced later in the year.
A full list of supporting acts for the tour are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, but already to be included on the gigantic world tour are acts from Amy Meyers own record label ‘Songs to Love and Die By’ in the form of Electro-Pop singer-songwriter ‘Maddie Urie’ and pop-punk New Yorkers, ‘My Girl Friday’. Also rumoured to be making an appearance during the tour at some stage are expected to be the popular rock group ‘Fathers of Fury’ who happened to be the first act to take ‘R!ot In The Boulevard’ on tour with them. Keep your eyes open for more acts to be announced soon.
The members of ‘R!ot In The Boulevard’ are reported to have once again had complete control in the planning of the tour, from dates, venues and cities, to ticket prices and production. A highlight of their first ever headlining tour in 2013 was the surprisingly cheap pricing of tickets, this year the prices have gone up slightly, from $20 to $35 for a standard ticket and from $45 to $85 for the VIP package which includes a meet and greet with the band. Once again though, in comparison to many of the other top touring acts, this provides a much cheaper pricing offer. When you consider that the band perform a minimum of 24 songs per show, it surely offers value for money.
