Sabrina's parent's are both musical with her mother being named the queen of Dancehall in Cape Town, and her father is known for his many Reggae hit songs, so it was clear from a young age that Sabrina was destined to be a star, although she grew up in Cape Town her family was one of the wealthiest in their neighborhood this has led Sabrina to be slightly snobbish and bitchy due to her rich lifestyle that she has led, before pursing her career Sabrina was actually arrested at age 16 for reported theft, but Sabrina was later proved no guilty and was let go, although she lived well as a child she was also constantly ill due to her having a weak immune system which runs in her family as her sisters Gamu and Naya and her brother Jose Jr. also have weak immune systems, this caused Sabrina to miss a lot of school and she ultimately failed her exams, also around the time of her exams her mother had gone missing from the village that they lived in and Sabrina was more focused on finding her mother rather than studying CAREER BEGINNINGS Sabrina first attempted a career in the music industry when she auditioned for StarAcadamy which is a Barbadian version of The X Factor In 2009, her audition blew the judges away and was praised for her confidence, however Sabrina would only make it as far as the next round before being elimated from the competition, after this Sabrina started to perfom in various bars and clubs in Barbados, which is famous for it's clubs, this was also the time when Sabrina found her love for Dance and House music and was set on theses two genres, she then auditioned for StarAcadamy again in 2011 once again impressing the judges with her own take on Mariah Carey's Touch My Body which she not only gave a House vibe but also a reggae vibe, Sabrina advanced to the next round the same round she dominated at in 2009, this time however she move to the next round after performing a version on Thriller by Michael Jacksonagain putting her own spin on it, she carried on advancing in the show and made it to the final two just being beat by the hot favorites of the shows Zena&Katiya, during her time on the show she made great friends with judge Rihanna who was her mentor on the show, and is a worldwide icon, songs Sabrina performed on the show include, Your Song, Lights, Bulletproof, Shine, Gold, All Rise those are just a few of them but are seen as her best as when she performed theses songs she received the top votes, all her performances on the show also expressed her individuality, and style, After the show Sabrina was approced by various different record label's, but all they wanted was to mold her their way and Sabrina did not like that so she declined all the offers, she then set out to go independent with her music firstly by recording a demo album, which she still sent to record labels but she also released it onto iTunes were it sold a little less than 10 thousands copies, which was impressive for something that was simply word to mouth selling, while she was waiting to hear but from a label Sabrina continued to perform in various bars and clubs trying to bulid her fanbase a little, she finally got word from one of the record labels and she signed with them and began to set out to work on her debut album, after being at the label for three months they suddenly just dropped her without even a single word, Sabrina was devastated but she picked herself up and began performing again, Sabrina is looking forward to making to release music in 2014 and looks to make an impact due to gotten noticed by popstar Dominic Brown who has agreed to mentor her and be a management figure in her career , in January 2014 Sabrina was approached by Matt Young and she signed a one album deal with his label 'Permanent Reminder' on February 2nd she released her debut single 'Make Me (Your Women) in its opening week in entered the downloads chart at #12 selling 140K in it first week and entered at #9 on the airplay chart in it second week the song sold 195K and it moved up the chart to #7 it also moved up to #6 in the airplay chart Sabrina is set to release her second single. Got to meet so many people, release some songs that people liked and I liked. got to work on a musical soundtrack, which you all should totally pick up by the way. I want to think all of the fans and thanks you for all your support and the EP will be out later this year which I can't wait for you guys to hear (^-^)! This has been soo fun and although I pretty tired, lack of sleep working too much, I just wanted to give you guys an update on all the things going on. Again I'm so thankful to be with such talented people so early to work on a soundtrack, so pick it up. Alright plugging promotions over back to putting music out to dance too. ~Sabrina Franc
