Mudshovel is a rap-metal supergroup which was originally formed in 2011 when an unknown drummer, Bjarne Orgsen, decided to pull together a band of stars to take over the world with an original blend of Rap and Metal music. The first line-up featured Matt Young, Dan Richerds (The Walls), Kieran Marks (Such Strange Arts) and Harry Thornton of (Mind). During their first year on the music industry, the band signed with Monk On Fire Music and released 4 singles and one full-lenght album. Their singles went to hit successfully the charts with all reaching the Top 10 on the Airplay Charts and their debut album, Society Of Rats, achieved great success peaking at #3 at the Charts and selling almost 4 million copies world wide. Mudshovel went to sold nearly 7 million copies around the world, gaining several gold and platinum awards. On that same year, they were nominated for the Best Band category in both Chaos Awards II & III, in the latest their debut album Society Of Rats was also nominated for the Best Album category (plus 3 nominations and 1 won for Best Artwork). Later on 2011, the band played their first and only live show at the 21st International Music Awards, being acclaimed by musicians, fans and critics.
By the end of 2011 Bjarne Orgsen confirmed he was leaving the United States to return to Sweden in order to rehabilitate of a strong addiction to cocaine and other drugs. He left the music scene to concentrate on his health and Mudshovel disbanded for the first time.
On January 2012, a failed come-back took place. The band opened a new website and confirmed a new line-up, now including Scott RH, Nick Palmer and Paul Drover as new members. Just some days after the announcement, rumors of a new break-up started and the band faded into darkness again.
Two years later, this Jauary 2014, the band is announcing their return to the mainstream scene, with a brand new line-up and the objective to turn in one of the biggest rock acts all around the world. The new line-up consists of both original members Matt Young and Bjarne Orgsen, now joined by Kai Rollins, Lily, KC James (Ex-Reported Failure) and Karoliena Verlinden (Atomic War Bride).
