 Title: Ain't Coming Back Label: Five Pesky Kids Records Genre: R&B, Rap Lenght: 3:34 Writer(s): Alex Grey, Naomi White, Deneil Khan Producer(s): Deneil Khan Released: February 1st 2014 About the song"Ain't Coming Back" is the sixth single from American/British girl group SYNCO it's also their comeback single after a long break from music the track was produced by and features the younger brother of Weekend's Billy Khan Deneil the track was written by band members Naomi White and Alex Grey with help from Deneil Khan this track is completely different from SYNCO's usual pop sound this song has more of a sexy urban sound to it who would have thought the cute girls from SYNCO could do something like this the song starts out with this catchy beat that is a bit repetitive but still sounds pretty good it then switches to a different sound but remains somewhat the same when we hear the girls coming in their harmonies sound different here more seductive and sexy than they usually would and right after the girls Harmonize "Here You Are" we hear Alex come in with that mature deep voice she also continues singing in a seductive sexy way this continues throughout the verse until we hear Nicole come in she sings in a slightly higher voice but keeps the sexy and seductiveness of the song going which is odd becuase Nicole is known to be one of the most innocent girls of the group to hear her sing like this is a bit odd but still sounds pretty amazing we don't hear the girls harmonize again until we hear them all sing together "I don't" then Nicole continues singing throughout the verse in that same seductive voice as before after ending the verse it goes into the chorus where we now hear Layla taking a majority of it she somehow continues the seductive sound even though she has a completely different amd unique voice she doesn't add any riffs or runs which we're use to hearing from Layla she just sings through it sounding like she's building up to something it then does we hear the girls singing all together in harmony once again as they repeat each word twice before the last part comes "You Ain't Comin' Back" is said in a deep voice it's uncertain who it is saying that part as the voice is highly edited but it sounds like it could be either Naomi or Alex after that we hear that catchy beat come in again which is bound to make you at least bob your head to it we then hear the girls come back in with those seductive harmonies and this time we hear Naomi singing the solo parts sounding completely different than she usually would she usually has a more bluesy voice but on this track she sounds almost exactly like Alex with a slight difference Naomi continues singing seductively like her band mates did before and they continue doing the harmonies and solos until we hear Jamie come in singing like Nicole did before in a higher but still sexy voice she sounds completely different from Nicole though but her vocals aren't showed off here like they usually are this part goes by almost exactly like Nicole's with Jamie getting more of a solo and the girls harmonizing once after the verse finishes we hear Layla come in with the chorus again which is sung just like before and after the chorus we hear that beat come in again this time with Deneil rapping though throughout the song the girls have been singing about not wanting a guy anymore and being too good for him now the whole track however Deneil raps about his side of the story he speaks of the girls in a nasty way saying how whichever one was only the side chick and referring to them as his rental while his Bugatti was at home he also add an Austin Nimmo reference in the rap who is known to be Layla's boyfriend at the moment after Deneil's rap is finished we hear the chorus come in again sang the same way as before but this time there are some ad libs added the song then continues until the last "You Ain't Comin' Back" it then comes to an endThe girls + Deneil's commentsAlex"I really love this track I love how it's so different from anything we've ever done I mean pop is fun and good and easy on the ears but it's always fun to explore other sounds and experiment a bit and just writing this track I knew it was going to be different from anything we did of course I had Naomi's help she was a huge help there were lyrics I was unsure about and she just switched them with these other amazing lyrics the writing and recording process for this track was so much fun I really enjoyed working with Deneil he's a pretty good guy even if he's trashing us in this song he really wrote his part well and he did an amazing job producing sometimes with a producer it's really tough to work because some people can be bossy and well I can be bossy but Deneil was amazing to work with it took awhile to come up with the perfect sound but he did it and I'm really glad that he said yes to featuring on this track he really did help us a hell of a lot and I really do hope we get to work with him again in the future because it was awesome"Naomi"First I wanna say working with Deneil was amazing he's probably one of my favorite people that we've worked with so far and that's saying something because I really do love everyone we've worked with so far he's just a really talented producer and rapper he's also a really chill guy even though that might not be shown much on the song I was so happy to be working with him after hearing some of his own stuff and some of the stuff he's produced already it was really cool and this song it's amazing probably my favorite song we've recorded ever I really loved the lyrics when Alex showed me them but they did need some work so I added some things and we bounced ideas off of each other and just got things going I love how different this song is it's sexier than anything we've ever done and it's got a more urban sound to it so I'm loving that too I'm just happy that we're able to show that SYNCO aren't just these cute little girls anymore we can be different and we can be mature I think this song shows that it shows how much we've grown as artists and individuals and I'm really glad about that I hope other people see it too and I hope everyone loves this song as much as we do too"Deneil"Working with the girls was a terrific experience and it was really different to any writing and recording session that I've ever done with another act. Usually I stay at home and do everything in there. I've got a built-in recording studio and I usually invite other artists around but this collaboration was a little different. I first read the lyrics to the song when Billy showed me the first draft of it. Obviously, being the owner of Pesky and working close with the girls, he has access to all of that stuff. Without even hearing the beat, I knew it was a little different to the stuff they have done before just by reading the lyrics. I think Billy must have said to one of the girls that I liked the look of the song because Riley, their manager, contacted me the next day and asked if I'd be interested in featuring and producing the track as they wanted to go for an edgier, urban sound for this single. I would have been a fool to have turned the chance down. I went into Pesky studios with the girls to work on "Ain't Coming Back" and it was the first time that I had been in a big studio, surrounded by lots of stars. It actually felt so official compared to the little studio in my basement. It took a few days to actually get the production just right. One version of the song sounded a bit odd when it came to the rapping, another version didn't really suit the melody but was killer when it came to the rap so it was a long process trying to get the perfect sound. It was a tiring but enjoyable experience working with the SYNCO girls, they are really talented and so humble. I'd definitely work with them again. Oh and before I forget, my rap sounds a little bit....nasty and I just want to clarify that I'm nothing like that and it was recorded only to suit the theme of the song (laughs), don't start hating now!
