So, there's a lot of drama going on in the roleplay section lately :P
So basically, what do you like/dislike about roleplay? Why do you do it/why don't you?
I love roleplay, and it's one of the reasons I joined up. I love writing stories and poems and things like that, and roleplay's to me just one big story branching off to loads of things, which means I can get better at writing stories and I can read other peoples and I love that.
Thing I don't like about roleplay is that not enough people do it :P If more people did it would be amazing. Like only about 10 more people on than there usually are roleplaying and it would be really good. |

I don't even look at the forum and thus have no real opinion. |

I had my band and I could click buttons, but I wanted there to be more to it than that. I wanted to write about their lives, make these people seem real to me, just like I do when I write stories. And so, three years ago, I introduced madcore to TRSG roleplay, and I haven't looked back!
I think that what I don't like about RP is - 1. Not enough people. 2. The copycats. (For example, when one person dies and then another and another, and then one girl gets pregnant and another and another, et ceteri.)
But still, even with these setbacks, it's the best bit of the game. |

Roleplay for me seemed better back in the old version (which is still the current version....errr?), there were alot more users from memory. The community was a fair bit larger.
Nowadays, its usually just a handful of people posting in RP...there's not enough new people coming through. It tends to get rather boring at times. Personally, I like RP but dont really care whether I do it or not, its not overly essential. I usually go a while between doing anything RP related with my bands. |

What Insano said. The community was much bigger "back in the day", and I don't think we'll ever top the days of Rejected, DR/V, and M/M in its golden era.
Roleplay isn't as interactive as it used to be, and there's a few people who post the majority of the stuff and no one else. It kinda gets redundant. For me, I liked roleplay cause it was interesting, but because of how small it was this time, I cut myself down from two bands, to two active characters, and focused on trying to write lyrics for all of my released songs as a challenge, but I can't even be arsed with that now.
I'll comment on something if I have the time or interest, but otherwise, I shall release my album in September, then leave it unless something happens. |

Exactly, that's why I've stopped roleplaying for the time being,(also because back in the day I had like 130k points from abandoning it since 06...) and I haven't yet reached a good enough rank in the actual game yet.

I still read most of the things on Roleplay, it's just that sometimes I feel I'm not "welcome" on some threads. Anyway, I still love the idea of making a "person's" personality and talks as I'm them. I don't even care about what people think anymore, I just do it for fun, of course it's always good that someone gives their opinion, but not my main goal. I became active on July (last year) so Roleplay hasn't changed much from then (for me, at least). |

I like the roleplay, even if there isn't a lot of people on it. I may not know what it was like "back in the old days", but I think that makes me impartial somewhat... |

I agree with the copycats thing... some people just like to copy others, or try to one up them. |

I was untouchable. Yes, nobody's copied that yet! (Well, one of my people runs a circus, but she was never in a band, just used to work at DBM. Anyway, MFV bloke could be in the same one.) I'm pretty untouchable too. Who else has their own freemasonry group, or vampyrism? (Apart from Raph for the latter.) Still got to do some "original" deaths .... just you wait! ;) Edited by user 27 August 2009 02:36:26(UTC)

At least you can do an open coffin funeral, I guess. |

Aj wrote:Still, there's only a few storylines you can actually do when you think about it. They all follow the same general pattern. This is definitely not true. Storylines are infinite. You don't have to go with deaths and druggies and affairs and children ALL the time - it's just that people are afraid to make things a little unrealistic (as long as you don't go too crazy, it's OK to push the boundaries of reality a bit, it's roleplay), or dare to be different. People follow and copy each other because you have tried and tested methods of gossip, you know it works and grabs interest, so go for it. |
