Cassie was still mad, really mad. In the last 24 hours, she had made the announcement that she was engaged to her girlfriend, but once again it just proved how much other people didn't care about her. Ever since she had been with Karoliena, her former best friend Gia had seemingly been ignoring her, and yesterday had been no different. She was spending today at home, trying to calm herself down while Karoliena took the twins out for a while. Jody was still here, because she had refused to leave. She hated seeing her mother mad so she wanted to hang around and make sure she was ok.

Cassie was in the living room with her feet up on the couch watching TV. It seemed like the sort of day when she just wanted to relax. She sort of felt like she had been abandoned, so she just wanted to shut out the outside world and stay on her own for a few hours. Cassie didn't realise that she had been abandoning Gia a little every time she got in a relationship. As much as she was tough and stuff, she was still only 19, so she tended to act a little immature from time to time. Jody was sat on the floor playing with her toys while Cassie relaxed, occasionally looking up to make sure her mother was ok. The two had been on their own for a lot of Jodys life, so they were amazingly close and Jody felt very protective of her mom. When the doorbell rings, Cassie groans and Jody stands up, looking down the hallway. Cassie didn't really want to see anyone, so she looks down at Jody. "Hey, LJ...can you get the door? Tell them mommy's busy," she says half laughing. But she was only halfway through the sentence when Jody went bounding off down the hall, feeling all grown up and important. When she gets to the door, she throws it open immediately and looks up. Jody half recognises the woman standing there, but she's not quite sure from where. "Hi lady!" she says excitedly with a big sweet smile on her face. Jody was a lot different now to how Gia would have remembered. She was taller and looked so much more like Cassie, aside from the blonde hair that was now starting to get quite long.

Jody looked up at Gia and narrowed her eyes a little, like kids do when they find it hard to hide their thoughts. She knew she knew this woman, but from where. "Yes, I'm a big girl," she says with a smile. "I got a big girl bed and Peppa Pig sheet," she smiles. "Mommy's busy," she says, remembering what Cassie had told her to say, but it was pointless. From the door they could see Cassies feet anyway. It's not until Jody sees Sophie being put down on the floor that everything clicks into place and she remembers who everyone is now. She smiles widely but then gets a bit shy. She was always shy around kids her own age, even though she was fine with adults. She looks at Sophie as they stand there, both basically the same height and everything. It had been so long since she had seen her friend though. "It's the baby," she says with a giggle, remembering what she used to call Sophie. "The baby all growed up, like me, Jody Summers." she claps her hands and smiles at Sophie.

Jody smiles when she gets told off for calling Sophie a baby. She was slightly older than Sophie, so she had always seen her as her little friend, but she was definitely growing up now. "You are big," Jody laughs. "Dora? No Dora, I like the little monkey," she says, clapping her hands. She then looks back at Gia. "You come in lady," she says before closing the door behind them and walking back to the living room. She thought Cassie would never mind seeing Gia anyway, even if she was busy. When they walk into the living room, Cassie looks at Jody. "Who was it, L...." She stops when she sees Gia, rolling her eyes. "Fucking Jesus. What?" she asks.

Jody smiles. "Do you like Diego? My twins likes Diego." She smiles at Sophie. To her, it was amazing to have someone around who was her age. She didn't get that often and Sophie was super nice too. Cassie stares at Gia, looking seriously unimpressed to see her there. She taps her foot Impatiently and then smiles at Sophie, not wanting to upset her. "Hi Sophie. Wow look how big you are! You're all grown up. LJ can you take Sophie to play in your room please," she says, not wanting them to hear an argument in the living room. Jody smiles. "Come on Sophie, I will show you all my toys," she says, holding her hand out.

"My twins love Diego. Gia always smiles to him," Jody said. Cassie was trying her best to not look like she was happy, but to hear Jody and Sophie chatting away like that was the cutest thing ever. She smiles at Sophie. "Well it must have worked then," she says. As the two walk away, Jody smiles. "Do you have another baby too? I have two," she says. Cassie sighs when they're left alone and looks over at Gia. She didn't really know what to say. Gia had been there for her when no one else was when she was pregnant with the twins, and she so wanted to ne mad at her still, but she could tell Gia was sorry. "I just wanted my friend around," she says Softly. "I made some pretty big choices Lately....and it would have been nice to have you around. You used to help me so much." She looks at her own feet and listens again. "What do you mean high and dry?"

"You Gia is a big girl. Mine is just a little baby," Jody giggles. "Your baby speaks? My ones just say little words." As they walk into her room, she points to all the toys she has. "All of these toys my mommies gave me," she says proudly. Cassie looks up at Gia still, swinging her legs around onto the floor. "I just thought that when I would announce my marriage you might even have said something nice to me," Cassie sighs. "I just missed you." She looks down and then listens to what Gia had to say. She never saw it like that before. "I did that?" she asks. "I never meant to..Gia. I just guess I get caught up in things. I'm sorry. I should never have abandoned you like that either. But you should have said something. Kicked my butt or something."

"But....but you have one daddy, Sophie. I don't have a daddy," she smiles. It was no big deal to Jody to not have a dad. She had two mom's who loved her a lot. "You daddy is nice to you," Jody smiles. "You take that toy. I take this one," she says with a grin. "Can you run fast?" Cassie looks down at the floor and nods. "I'm sorry I ignored it. And thank you. She's good to me, you know?"

Jody giggles. "No other mommy is mommy, silly. My daddy is gone away.'
He doesn't see us no more." She looks over when Sophie says she's faster than anyone. "I race you," Jody says with a smile. Cassie looks up at Gia and then smiles at her at last, pulling her in for a hug. "I'm sorry. We shouldn't fight. Not after all the stuff we've been through in the past."

"My daddy not loved my mommy. My mommy loves my mommy now," Jody said. She wasn't really sure why she never saw her dad, but it didn't matter to her. She barely remembered him now anyway. "Yay! We race in here," she says clapping her hands. Cassie smiles at Gia. "I think we should take some lessons in friendship from our girls," she says. "Who else have you lost?"
