 Vans Warped Tour 2014 - June 18th to August 8th 2014About WarpedWarped Tour is a touring music and extreme sports festival. The tour is held in venues such as parking lots or fields upon which the stages and other structures are erected. Vans, among others, has sponsored the tour proudly every year since 1995, and it is often called the Vans Warped Tour. The tour began as a showcase for punk rock music, but its more recent lineups have featured diverse genres. The tour started as a skate punk and third-wave ska tour, but later began to feature mostly post-hardcore, pop punk, and metalcore acts. There are also some hardcore and street punk bands, such as the Casualties, the Unseen and Anti-Flag, that still play Warped Tour, as well as older bands that have played the tour numerous times since its inception. As of 2014, the tour will even spread further to include some indie, hip hop and even pop acts, representing the widespread diversity that is now seen not only in the world of music itself, but also in the tastes of fans.
HistoryThe Warped Tour was created in 1994 by Kevin Lyman, who got the idea while working on skateboarding shows such as the Vision Skate Escape and Holiday Havoc which included music with skateboarding contests. The Warped name comes from the short-lived Warp Magazine, published by Transworld, which covered surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, and music. The tour has always been held at outdoor venues, though on rare occasions that has not always been the case. In 1996 due to problems with the venue where the event was to be held, the show was forced to be moved indoors to the The Capitol Ballroom nightclub in Washington DC. In 2014, some select venues will also be indoor as the tour looks to play a small number of larger venues.

Ticket PricesEach city's ticket sales will work on a three-tier system, working to the traditional "buy early, buy cheap" mantra that has always been a part of Warped Tour. For this year, the three tiers will work as follows. Tier 1 (first 250 tickets) - $25
Tier 2 (first 1,000 tickets) - $35
Tier 3 (full price) - $50Warped also recognises that due to the nature of the bands we put on year after year, many of our fans will be aged younger than 18. As a courtesy, and to allow as many of our fans to attend as possible, Warped also allows each order (not each ticket) to add a free parent's ticket to allow groups to have an adult with them at all times and give parents the peace of mind that their youngsters are having fun in a safe environment in which they can keep an eye on them. OOC: I PM'd a few people about being a part of this tour, but I need some more signups, so anyone who wants to take part, please send me a little PM. Anyone can play regardless of genre. We're going to have interactive threads, interviews, stages, blogs, giveaways, the whole lot. However, no one has to do any of that. If you want to just sign a band up and then have them be on it without having to post any extras, that's cool with me. You can also sign up for a portion of the tour, rather than the whole thing if you want to :) Also, one headliner still needed, so please feel free to volunteer big acts to your heart's desire.
