Sabrina has been out for a while and has the best of both worlds the highs of her first song and the positive feedback she got from "Make Me Your Woman" to the negative response to her last single "Crazy" and her work with Matt Young on the track but she like the sound that he made to her. To try to reach a happy middle ground She got a new producer on this track but also got a more constructive framework to write a song.
Quote:I wanted to try something different, my last two songs have been about love and how someone makes you feel but I talked to Matt and he wanted to see another side of it. A sad break up song. So I went back to my past experiences and wrote from there.
The Music starts off with a guitar playing setting the tempo for the song to follow. Sabrina starts singing after 17 seconds of the guitar setting the song up and she is at a low volume just above your volume of the guitar as it fades into the background. As she gets to the bridge of the song her voice starts to project louder and sounding more confident. Now only is her voice growing but also the music to it as well until she tells everyone she is better off without him. The beat come in plays at the 1:30 mark she starts singing again. This time around her voice is low but the confidence is still there and grows quicker this time around.
Expectations for this song is pretty high, As people question if going to permanent Reminder was a mistake for the dance-house artist. She is still under contact to do one album but if the album isn't a success, what are the odds of getting picked up again. Can Sabrina go back to the buzzed that she had on her first song and get the questions of doubt out? We will just have to wait and see.
Lyrics(Verse 1)
In the Beginning
I thought that this was everything
But I was left with nothing at all
I saw you, and you told me what I wanted to hear
Sold me nothing but broken dreams
(Bridge)
You let me down and let me fall
But I got up and brush you off
You went off to find someone else
And I am doing find without your help
(Hook)
Go ahead, live your life
I am better off without you
Stay out late, Rush through life
I am better off without you
(Verse 2)
Looking back
I don’t know why I couldn’t see
What you really thought of me
You wanted to play the role of a shining Knight
But what you were was just a fool
(Bridge)
You let me down and let me fall
But I got up and brush you off
You went off to find someone else
And I am doing find without your help
(Hook)
Go ahead, live your life
I am better off without you
Stay out late, Rush through life
I am better off without you
I am better off without you
No more stress, No more pain
No more lying, no more game
I can finally be freeeeeeeee
(Bridge)
You let me down and let me fall
But I got up and brush you off
You went off to find someone else
And I am doing find without your help
(Hook)
Go ahead, live your life
I am better off without you
Stay out late, Rush through life
I am better off without you
