I like 'em both, I think Megadeth put out more good albums but Metallica's 3 great albums were better than anything by Megadeth.
I guess what I'm saying is that I prefer Dark Angel & Exodus when it comes to 80s thrash. |

Metallica. They were the band that got me into metal.Megadeth's "Sellout Albums" were beter than Metallica's "Sellout Albums" after the black album but Metallica's stuff in ther good old days is still better. |

Early METALLICA is great, but all in all I think there were tons of better thrash bands in the US back then. I love Kill 'Em All, but it wouldn't even be in my top 10 American thrash records. Never was much of a MEGADETH fan though, can't stand Mustaine's vocals.

Whats wrong with Mustaine's vocals?, they are weird at first but you get used to them because they are great with any lineup Mustaine comes up with. |

And frankly I don't find the music to be very special either.

I have to disagree about ride, I just kinda like the whole vibe of master more, but ride is still pretty sick. Also, glad that someone else has come to terms that Reign in Blood is not Slayer's best work.

Also, glad that someone else has come to terms that Reign in Blood is not Slayer's best work. Most big Slayer fans agree to those terms. My favorite is Hell Awaits.South of Heaven is good too.But the thing about Ride that I love is that everything is perfect. It's got the best tone of any of Metallica's albums (band has even said this themselves) and it's like a bridge between Kill 'em All and Master. With all the proggy goodness of Master and all the speed of Kill 'em All.It's got "Fight Fire With Fire" which is fast as hell then it's got "Fade to Black" which is nice and progressive and then there's my favorite "Ride the Lightning" with tons of speed and technicality and that crazy riff at the beginning. Then there are the classics like "For Whom the Bell Tolls" with all of its amazing riffs and "The Call of Ktulu" which in my opinion is their best instrumental. |

I've tried to get into Megadeth over the years but they just dont do it for me, so I have to say Metallica but as a whole I am not really a fan of thrash. It seems currently that every second band coming through is a thrash metal band. An exception would be Blood Tsunami and Testament. Dont like Slayer much these days (having said that I would pick up their new album just out of habit), nor Exodus and so on. |

With that album 'Bonded by Blood'..it must be one of those 'you had to be there' sort of thing because I think its very ordinary. 'Shovel Headed Kill Machine' sucked, they should have stayed retired. 'The Atrocity Exhibitions' wasn't too bad though. |

Their first comeback album was awesome, Tempo Of The Damned. And no way is Bonded By Blood ordinary, just listen to Piranha or ...And Then There Were None!
But I certainly don't want to hear a remaster of it. |
